Thanks for watching! Like or Typo will give you the SIDE EYE! 👀
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
A ram wasted an old couple in the paddock on their property. It crashed through a wooden fence to get to them. Strewth 😮
Thanks for posting. Love your sense of humour
I always like, but I love Typo's side eye. It's so deliciously exasperated.
Love Typo. Love her side eye. So dramatic.
That one sheep realised that as long as he was incompetent, he got to take the bus.
Watching you haul the sad sack of flour into the car was the funniest thing I have seen today.
Marry me ❤
Savage motion sickness too . Vomit 🤢
He's a heavy boy 😂 I don't know why he insisted on getting out if he was just going to make me put him back in the car lol
That was so funny
It works like that in some humans too. My friens's step son kept breaking the lawnmower. It was annoying and expensive but he exploited that incompetence glitch for better Saturday mornings of not touching the lawnmower.
That marino had a mission, being as uncooperative as sheeply possible
I loved both the Slug Moistening & Slug Appreciation Intermissions 🤣💙
Gonna need a new intermission going into winter. 😂
@@TaraFarms Slug Stylish jacket modeling? Doing a turn on the fashion show runway?
Does it get cold enough for her to wear dog booties like I saw on the Iditarod sled dog teams in Alaska?
that marino was me this morning when it was too cold and i didn’t want to get out of bed 😂
Here comes a wild and probably crazy idea from Sweden:
How about we all just start being thankful for everything you DO show us? And at the same time stop bitching about what you do NOT show?
For example: you have not shown us your toenails, have you?🧐
Didnt think so.
Does anyone hear me bitching about it?
No! I take it like a champ!
Thank for being exactly the way you are! I fucking LOVE you! Hugs from Sweden!❤
I got my slug mug a few weeks ago and it has been a great addition to my collection. Shipped to the US without issue and holds up perfectly in the wash. Sturdy mug, hilarious slug, a good moistening for all.
Very glad to hear it! I wouldn't survive without my dishwasher so I knew I had to make it dishwasher proof at least! 😂 Gotta keep the world fed and moistened!
I appreciate the ted talk. As an Aussie I love seeing Sandi's barn because I'm used to seeing your setup. Love Typo. Good girl. Thanks for the vids. 👍
It's interesting seeing how everyone else in the world farms sheep. I watch Sandi's, Karls and Cammy's videos and just see how there's similarities and differences between us all!
Watch all of those as well, one thing they all have in common is animal welfare. They look after their animals better than themselves.
In sweden we do a combo. From may to september i think they must have outside access .but winter make barns needed to
@@AnniCarlsson I watch Ewetopia Farms as well as the above mentioned youtubers and they too do combo of pasture(but in at nighttime due to coyotes) and barn during the Canadian winters.
For sheparding on a whole different scale, check out @suzannacramptonireland (Zwartbles Ireland). Starring The World's Smallest Sheepdog.
"Typo," you say, "bring me their souls!" Sooo funny!
😂 Good morning, "nut slaps." Holy shit! almost spit my moring coffee. Thanks for the audible laugh❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's so funny to see NZ and AUS lamb labeled " Pasture raised Free range" like there is another way we raise them 😂
Those sheep are saying, "Free range my ass, that dog is always chasing me."
Indian sheep are raised in call centres.
@@captainpoppleton Do they have their own tea trolley?
I notice in the US how everything is, "Gluten Free" in products that never had wheat as an ingredient. 🙄
@@ssgtmole8610 yeah even more startling is that they’re advertising gluten-free alcohol as if you could buy a bottle of gin that’s gonna have gluten in it. The protein molecule that makes up gluten is way too big to be distilled. It’s gonna stay in the mash.
The Benny Hill music just... chefs kiss!!!
i laughed way too hard when typo turned up at the top of the ramp with no sheep with a look of " what you want mum?"
Aussie sheep are farmed differently to Canadian sheep, unlike Sandi our sheep are in the 1000s not 100s. Love watching both these ladies and as an Aussie raised around Gundagai I appreciate the differences.
Raised in Australia and you don’t know how many sheep there are in Australia?
Canada makes up less than .2% and doesn’t even get recorded on population numbers…
China, India then Australia with about 5%.
Oh my god I can't believe there was nothing wrong with that sheep. 🤣 He legit looked like he was dying. I had no idea sheep would do that.
The Slug is the best ❤. Taking on those rams 🐏 like a champ 🏆
That explanation at the beginning was useful, if I am right Sandy has about 400 adult sheep in a barn and you have about 7,000 spread over several thousand acres. Intensive as opposed to extensive, some similarities but lotsa differences. I find that the amount of science which goes into both operations particularly interesting, whether it is soil testing, pest control, health management of the mob etc. It is so different from what I remember on the family farm in UK 60+ years ago. I thought at one point that Slug might have taken a knock from one of the rams , she was walking a bit odd - but seemed better at the end. Good stuff.
Typo has a slight limp in one of her front legs sometimes, she's always had it and I've had her CTed and ultrasounded and they can't find anything. It's always interesting to see what other people do and see if it works for us too!
@@TaraFarms May just be a quirk of hers if nothing is wrong, or maybe she just twinges the muscles a little and it isn't serious just needs a rest, or perhaps she steps on a thistle on the odd occasion and has to work the little spikes out of her fur.
She is a speed demon and if this is her slow moving quirk so long as you keep a look out for any changes it's fine, you're a good boss-mum we all know see that, you're with her every day you know her way more than we do.
All the best mate.
That was the realest sheep farming video I have ever seen 😊The floppy merino, the speeded up ewe and ram separation montage, the paddoc mistake, all great.
In a previous video, I made a comment referring to Typo as a good boy,,, and now I realize my mistake,, can you please pass on my deepest apologies to Typo,,, SHE is a good girl !!!
Typo holds grudges, trust me 😂💀
@@TaraFarms let it go Typo,,, everybody makes mistakes 🙂
Being from an older generation, the background music was so appropriate 🤣.
Finally a realistic sheep video, lots of swearing, be thankful you don't have belclare rams, turn into deamons around 2, can be aggressive to people
Another fantastic vlog tara you and slug make my Wednesdays
Thank you Pauly! Appreciate the comment like always! 😊
Good morning ❤. Looking forward to a new adventure from our friends in Australia 🙂 good morning to slug too
Hope it lived up to the hype 😂
I am 57 and I live in Ohio. I love watching Sandi. And you are awesome too you have your own cool style. 7000 sheep! You go girl. You and slug are hilarious
I'm imagining barns big enough to fit 10k ewes, rams, and lambs. 😂😂😂
You'd have to have several massive sheds, like chicken or pig sheds. The smell would be ripe 😂
@TaraFarms oh God the idea of the smell turns my stomach thinking of it. Going past chook sheds is horrific enough!
I'm glad you addressed that there wasn't anything wrong with the sheep who didn't want to walk. It had me wondering for a bit there!
If you're interested, check out Glyn and his dad rearing sheep in Ireland, their channel is Sheep Shepherd. They've had a horrible time of it with the weather the last few weeks while trying to lamb several thousand sheep when there's torrential rain and severe flooding.
I knew I had to because people would be concerned, but no that's just merinos.
I'll check them out, I've been watching Karl's videos (Ewetube) he's in Ireland and looks similar to our winters there at the moment!
@TaraFarms also curious about public holidays. I realise farming is 7 days a week, but I'm wondering if you get a flat salary or paid extra for public holidays, that say a non- farmer would either have the day off or get paid extra to work the holiday.
Remember mistakes are called "work in progress" 😊😊
Typo is a brave slug! Those are big rams!
1:02 "To the right!" My right, not your right!
Seriously though, always a fun time watching your vids on the ranch/farm/herding, thanks for what you do!
Good morning, 3:30 am here in eastern USA, Wed morning Typo show to get up for. Absolutely great video today ! Crazy busy, problems, don't know how you stay cool sometimes when things go sideways. Either I'm less senile or you did lengthen the text explanation duration, thank you. Again, great video, you covered a lot, always interesting.
If you don't laugh you'll cry 😂
I did lengthen the text, pushed it out to 4 seconds at least (I think)
If I were to venture a guess, I'd say they are expecting a wooden hey/grain storage building, painted traditional red? At least that's what the barn was on our dairy farm in New York state. Mostly inhabited by Barn Owls, which is very fitting. There is a milking parlor, but the cows are only in there for milking. The majority was stacked to the rafters with hay bales for much of the year.
Ahhh yes that could have been it also! Many possibilities, I hope they see the video and clarify. I still think about it 😂
We have haysheds here and that's where our hay lives
I think _this_ video was a good example of what your setup actually looks like!❤❤❤
Many many many years past I lived in yarrawonga and remember the endless sheep paddocks. Was nice to see it again.
That Marino was a sad sack haha funniest thing I've seen all day.
That sheep bread is something else 😅
Op from the barn query maybe not aware of our weather eg it only snows up top of some of our tallest mountains. Id love to see you try and get 800 sheep in a barn lol
We can't get 800 in the woolshed, I have no idea how big a barn to fit all the sheep in would be!
Ted talk w Tara ❤ 😂 killed me
Absolutely stunning morning scenery you have right at the beginning with that big old tree in the yard and the sunrise 😊
Your dog is so cool. You are so cool.
I loved the way you handled that limp noodle sheep.... you need a bumper sticker or slogan...I don't take SH-T off no sheep!!
Well played Tara...Well played....
RichieC
Hi Tara, I don't know if you have seen but here in New Zealand we had a husband and wife found dead last week, who were killed by a ram. So sad but shows how dangerous rams can be.
Holy shit that's horrifying! "West Auckland fatal ram attack". The Hansen couple were in their 80s so probably couldn't run or fight it off. It wasn't even their sheep, it had just broken through the fence to get to their property!
My heart goes out to them and their families, and the neighbours that owned the ram...imagine having to live with that.
I haven't seen that, that's so sad to hear. My thoughts are with their family and those involved! People are always wary around bulls but rams can be dangerous also!
“You might think there’s something wrong with him..there’s not, he’s just a fucking merino”
So if I wanna cuddle a sheep….merino, got it lol
Love the dog worķ and the process òf realizing what must have happened with Typo and the rams earlier behind the scenes.
Loved it. Big hugs to Typo, being bullied by a tiny brained ram isn't fun at all. I'm a big fella and have nothing but respect for stroppy sheep and cattle. They'll make a great day bad very quickly.
Quick question: What causes footrot in sheep? Is it a bug or just an issue with damp ground screwing with their feet?
They can get dangerous very quickly! Footrot is caused by 'Dichelobacter nodosus' it's a type of bacteria. It goes into the ground and then enters susceptible sheep's feet and lives in there. That's something we're going to breed out of our flock with the primelines. They usually have black-toed feet which will almost never get foot rot.
Hi Tara, i was sent by Sandi but she did warn that you do things differently and that you don't use barns.... she also said you use much more colorful language than she does 😂 i tried to resist and just wanted to say she said exactly the truth and thank you for all the colors I am learning. It's great 😊
Girl! You are keeping me up. Love your videos.
Why is this so flippin fun to watch? You are so genuine and refreshing I feel as if I'll implode. But in a wicked good way. Stellar balance of educating people about what you do and senseless vulgarities of all sorts. Being able to laugh sometimes, is priceless. So flap flap baa baa dude, because I consider you a sheep angel. You've increased some foreign rando's quality of life. No joke yo. *fist bump*
Woop! Another vid from the awesome Tara and Slug! Honestly the highlight of my week❤ Afternoon! From Qld.😂
Also- merinos, just givin' up on life.😂😂😂😂 They seem like a very exasperating breed.
They have them up North more because they're hardy but I couldn't just farm Merinos I'd loose the plot! 😂
@@TaraFarms hardy... LOL, they seem like life it too much for them.
And I don't blame you, might be amusing at first, or for us spectators, but probably not for farmers.😂
It is baffling to me that people watch these videos and see a sick sheep as a moral failing or neglect on Tara's part. Every problem she deals with is an inherent issue of livestock cultivation that would happen on any farm with animals.
"Oh, the sheep is sick, that's bad." NO SHIT, MY DUDE!
As the old saying goes, livestock = deadstock. Too many people bitching are graduates of "RUclips University" and seem to think they're now experts in animal husbandry after watching different ranchers/farmers' videos...yet have never even had livestock. THAT'S what baffles the hell out of me.
Seeing you lift a sheep that is a big as you was pretty cool
Hi it's me Tracy in Ohio again. You look like you might be the age of one of my children. They are in their twenties I just get a kick out of seeing all that you do and so do my kids. Can't believe the Marino play dead like that in the back of your vehicle. What a hoot!
Those ❤damm merinos!
That’d make me swear too.
Thanks for all of this one! I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!!
Thank you for a great video. I enjoy watching several Sheep youtubers from different parts of the world. I enjoy learning about the differences between countries, types of sheep etc. You all show how much you care for the animal under your charge.
Thank you for sharing your and Slug's day.
Getting better every week! Thank you.
Typo had a ruff day, she’s get good with the fence jumping.
Thanks for answering my questions
I actually like seeing everything ya'all do with your entire business.... sheep, barn, crops... etc 👍💞
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!!
Your vehicles like a little tank it’s amazing
❤😊 poor typo😂😂
Slug is so cool and I'm a big time cussed and if people don't like it tiff always be you tara
Thank you Tara & typo ❤❤
I look forward to Slug Air Time in these videos. Typo is a great jumper of fences!
"We're filing for divorce and Slug's their attorney" 😂
Rain makes the grass grow and the hooves rot. He He.
It just wasn't your day for mob handling huh, merino tendencies not helping in the least rip. Though at least watching you toss that ram around like a water balloon was pretty amusing!
Also don't worry about showing Working Dog tone on Working Dog Slug, folk can deal w it lol
(also also I love teleporting rain season ;A;)
You tube doesn't like footbath salt, it doesn't like lambs being born, it doesn't like blood, or still birth. It's doing a great job of preventing poor sensitive sorts seeing the world as it really is.
You do a great job of bringing real sheep farming to the world though. I miss it much more than I ever thought I would when I was wandering around a lambing shed at 3am looking for a lost lamb or trying to get a reluctant first time mum to accept her babies.
In America, you don't have pasture-raised animals unless you have acres and acres of land. Even then you have the barn as a home base and water supply for all animals, props to you for herding that many sheep using trucks!
I did see that while in Canada, it seems like farms don't have dams there. Quite interesting to see that they use troughs for all their water or natural waterways.
@@TaraFarms we have dams here in Oklahoma and Texas. We call them ponds. 😂
I remember when my family were at my uncle’s farm and a ram (Marino) got out of the paddock and “rammed “ into our car that was parked behind the house. The shit of a thing took the front bumper off the car. We chased him for an hour dodging his horns. Finally got him back into the paddock.
They can be dangerous animals if they're alone especially.
He was in with a mob that was in a paddock outside the shearing shed. He was a bastard. My uncle only kept hip because he was an award winning stud.
The shade you throw at the poor sheep jfc. Called that one "shocking" 💀💀💀
Love your Ted Talks❤❤😂
Sorry these people are like that with you. I understand your frustration. I am glad you tell them off. I love that in you. You are refreshing. Anyway take care and continue being you. Give typo a huge hug from me. Keep on keep on.
The comment wasn't an issue at all just had me confused 😂
I needed this on my birthday 🎉!
Happy Birthday!
Typo is a beast!
I've always wondered this, but more so as the years have got hotter. Is there industry discussion about the animals bring out in the summer sun day after day and the dangers to the animals/products? As in talk about creating mobile shelters or is it not as bad as I think?
Good question, down here it's not as bad as up north. Sheep usually sit around the dams when it's hot because they get the breeze off the dam. If it is really hot and there's no trees in the paddock you can use straw bales and they sit in the shade of those. We also won't walk them when it's over 27C, if we need to move them that day it's done in the early morning. If you remind me when summer comes around again I'll show it :)
Good Morning from Texas ❤❤❤ 2am glad someone posted something worth watching ❤❤
Nah I'd be fast asleep at 2am 😂
@@TaraFarms I should be! If I worked as hard as you I would be probably dead to the world lol Right now I'm on short term disability, I have a old knee replacement that's come loose and my body is rejecting it so it's made me sick. "Plus when at my job I work 7pm/7am so my body is still on my shift routine".. When I'm not sick I'm hurting so bad it drives me nuts. Here in the states we have a big pill problem so they don't give out good meds any more unless you're dying lol Tylenol & tramadol doesn't give it a good kick .. so I wake up find stuff on RUclips to help keep my mind off the pain. That's when I 1st found your shorts then seen you at Sandi's. Absolutely fell in love with your personality & channel. We potty mouth gals gotta stick together 🤠🌻😂 I'm suppose to have a knee revision May 20th get this piece of shit out 🤷♀️.... Word from the old, take care of your knees and listen to your body don't be a hard head like me ignoring it.. We don't get back up as easy once we hit our 50s lol 😂
I like your video keep them coming ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I saw a sheepdog scale an 8ft fence & wall togo & help his own heard the sheeo❤
Typo was sharp today, she’s fast 💨
Think it would be a fun and educating experience to come help out for a few days. Would be a great experience.
Hooray for the sluggidge.
LoL yeah, Sandi has a barn because Canadian snow. Don’t think Victoria has Canadian snow… 😂
I looks like it would help a bit if you have a second hand not that you need it but it might make things smoother
Watching you man-handle a floppy sheep into the car had me in stitches :P
Feel sorry for Typo getting kerfuffelled by a ram.
Taz, at risk of you thinking “That wanker” some recreational reading for you a book called “The One Straw Revolution” by a Japanese man whose name in English is “Fukuoka”. It’s oldish now and is a “seminal” work used to springboard a lot of the later thinking such as Permaculture and Pentropic Aggroforestry. Only if you can store the info and gestate it for a while.
I've added it to my audible library will listen to it next week and let you know! Always interested in stuff to listen to lol
A barn for 7000 sheep? Isn’t that a stadium? 😂
EXCELLENT OPEN PADDOCK SHEEP SEPARATION !!!!
Thank you, I was surprised it worked so well!
@@TaraFarms BE THE SHEEP !!! 🙂
Your Ted talks are great.😂😂 As a farm girl, it amazes me how "common sense" seems to be lost. Even if you are talking about a different country. I think you have explained it enough for anyone to catch on to.😅😅
That merino was killing me. 🤣 First he wants out, then he literally comes up to the truck and wants back in! Oh, but he won't go easily. You have to drag him in and almost out. Ridiculous.
I was nearly killed by a Hampshire cross ram when I was five. Kept chasing me and knocking me down. My older sister finally got hold of him and my older brother went for help. I can see your rams outweigh you. Glad you are careful but I think I'd carry a stick/whip, too. Not to beat them with, of course, but to protect yourself.
hi Tara a week ago an elderly couple in their 80s were found dead in a paddock on their farm in rural West Auckland, here in NZ. There was a ram in the paddock . When their adult son went looking for them, he found them dead in the paddock. He was attacked by the ram. He called the police and they turned up and went to investigate and were attacked by the ram and they shot the ram.
Umm.. wtf bro? What was even the point of posting that here? Weird fcked shit to post here mate..
I saw in another comment and searched it up. Very sad to hear! People are always wary around bulls but rams can also be dangerous.
I think a lot of USA ppl would think of your shearing shed as a barn. (Some people here call a lean-to, a barn, even though it's just a place for the animals to get out of the rain or sun)
love
Are those 😎goodr sunglasses😎?!? I love mine! I almost got that color!
Lordy, girl, that's some strength pulling that merino that was as big as you!!! Superwoman!
Hi❤.
Hi Julie!!
Typo is the bestest slug in the entire land 👍
Well done woman 🐺❤️
😂 the one sheep looked like was dying. Nope just playing dead for a free ride.
I have been reading up on the Primeline sheep a bit as I didn’t recognize them as a breed. Now I get why. Will you be going exclusively Primeline? Or do you need another breed to create them? That’s sort of where I’ve lost the thread. I went back and watched almost every video to see if that was explained previously but didn’t see it. You are a lot of fun Miss T! Thanks ColoradoKeith. .
My ram charged me a couple of weeks ago I ended up with bruises and concussion with neck pain. I went to put a hose away in his paddock and had to spray him down with said hose to get him to not go me
