When it comes time to lay down some times adding something like a front snub style mount. Or anything you can come up with to keep that motor sending the power to the wheels and not rocking in the engine bay is going to make a huge difference.
I bet they move to full boost from compound (3*(3+1)-1=11bars) with welded block/head decks and added extra 10 studs around engine to externally bolt head with block
Cool still watching this, having done this myself. Little tip on the spark plug issue/blowing the spark out. Denso iridium fine point plugs help, the fine points mean lower voltage to initiate breakdown but better is to increase the power of your CDI ignition. If you are using stock transistorised coils, then you can cheat a bit and fit a dc/dc converter to feed the coil packs 16 volts, but as it is the reverse of a ballast resistor, too much voltage will eventually kill stuff. There’s so many of these little things I’ve forgotten from doing the same sorts of crazy stuff. You have the same sort of ‘engine trying to climb out of the bay’ issue too, consider top engine mounts, misalignment of the drive shafts eats power, and the cv joints don’t like it. Head lifting, maybe bigger head studs, but also increase the washer size, or even machine up plates and put lets in the head. The more evenly the clamping force is spread the less flex. It is the same principle of load spreading used on thin tin oil sumps and rocker covers to spread clamping force. The engine I worked on was a turbo petrol, but derived from a diesel engine, the standard head bolts were fine at over 50psi, due to the diesel heritage. Keep going guys, you can do it!
Ran into same issues on another platform, with a compound setup running 77psi + atmospheric. Used mercedes OM457 headbolts (m15x2mm) solved all issues that i had on stock m12 bolts.
Pretty soon the Dog is gonna make more that the twin engine car. 😮this is beyond impressive.. Matt and Nick. You guys or so synchronized with your ideas. With this type of attitude, and approach anything is achievable..
@@HowToTurbo fwiw to keep the stock bottom ends alive in my 8 second setup i run 7* of total timing at peak tq and only 14* at 8k andbthrow all the boost at it. Stopped lifting heads and bend rods when we went that route over high timing and lower boost

Awww did you realize a big turbo and a modded engine not making enough turbo pressure to my stock 24psi that you need to turn your boost up even more, here's an idea keep going to it blow's or better yet put a A100-L turbo on it
@@Camp_Dogs u can go much better with a simple gtx30 mate, we are pushing 630s here with 50psi and running into the low 9s consistent on street starlets
The block is absolutely going to break in half one day.
We can’t wait 😂

@@Camp_Dogs me either
I reckon i'll be watching 12 months from now and we'll have triple turbo with a welded head just to be sure it doesn't come off the block xD
Now that’s an idea 😂🤘
I bet they move to full boost from compound (3*(3+1)-1=11bars) with welded block/head decks and added extra 10 studs around engine to externally bolt head with block
@@exvils Now we're thinking.
if the head can't go up, the crank goes down eventually 😂
What sort of mains design does the starlet run?

This is the best project! I like when stuff is taken to the max!😅
Insane power out of a 1.3 guys. Love it!
holy shit! thats a 1.3????? my god, even typical well built busa's generally make 500hp and is of a similar Liter size. thats impressive

4:39 his laugh sounds like turbo flutter 😂
Man I was so excited 😂
he's morphing into a blowoff valve!
😂😂
The only videos that I love to watch atm, keep it up guys!
That reaction at 4:40 though, the gleeful giggles, made my fuckin' day. Top efforts boys, here's to nine more!
Anything... even a chunk of chain bolted to the engine and sub-frame would make such a huge difference..
You guys are awesome. Your parts dealer must stock those head gaskets by the pallet
This is so ridiculous I love it.
Best channel on YT right now
This just gets better and better. Keep going laaaads.
G'lawd, that 1.3L be hungry!
I know you guys will get it done!
Let the dog eat 😂
I like that the engine mounts are like rubber bands at this point
I love how the block studs are holding on for dear life everytime this car hits boost 😂❤
Everyone saying head studs are holding on for dear life no one mentioned the poor engine mounts 😂😂😂😂
Jeremy Clarkson POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 0:06
Bell mouth on the Turbski will probs make it lol
And more porting on that poor lil head when use remove it ;)
Keep being awesome guys !
Farkn most anticipated video ever. Yusss!!!. Go on ya dogs.
Prerty crazy how not that long ago you were struggling to break 300hp!! Now it's close to dubbel! But does start to look more and more MadMax
bigger head studs... and a external clamp case that presses from the oil pan to the vavle cover
epic. you guys, holy fk you make hard work look like a lot of fun, cheers for sharing it with us all!
Insane was the front mount broken or just that much movement also awesome stuff great channel
0:05 When the Turbo gives you the “Sup Dog” head gesture 😂
M24 bolts from head thru to mains ;-)
She's about ready to take off lads 🤣💪🏽 Camp Dogs Moon Tune‼😎
That dog rowdy! 😂❤
an engine mount or two would be good! hahaha
No way that’s the fun part
😂 we're gonna need a bigga boat!!
Nice work lads! So close!
Seen this at motor rox good work boys
What was the timing? Why not knock 3-5* of timing off and add boost instead of timing? Makes for less peaky cylinder pressures.
It was very spicy 🌶️
@@HowToTurbo fwiw to keep the stock bottom ends alive in my 8 second setup i run 7* of total timing at peak tq and only 14* at 8k andbthrow all the boost at it. Stopped lifting heads and bend rods when we went that route over high timing and lower boost
I have seen bigger turbos in boat or ship engines, maybe you guys should try them
Insanity. I'm here for it.
You absolute legends
The gyroscopic force on the turbo bearings when the engine snaps forward at the throttle is let off must be *HUGE*.

Hey guys are you still using hi torq head gaskets?
I stopped my night for for this.. better be good blokes!
I think u guys should bumper mount the bigger turbo then do some reorganising in the bay
Maybe backyard water intercooler fab?
Thats crazy power considering its thru an auto. Crank hp would be atleast 700hp out of a 1.3!
weld the turbo to the hood??? is that a thing
Keep it up!!
What poor cv shafts will be taking that power to the ground??
I think you guys might need to go from factory engine mounts to solids
Might have to leave the head gasket out lads and just use a thin layer of Devcon. Camp Dogs for the win!
the intro. rip engine mounts xD
those things are holding with their life :D
Almost time for the copper and bronze trick? Haha good shit
that 1.3 was literally dying inside lmao
Stupid question but why isn't the smaller turbo feeding the bigger one? Usually that's how a compound setup works ya?
No. The bigger turbo feeds the smaller one to keep it in its efficiency range of the compressor map (lowers the PR for the same boost).
At this point more bore CCs n less compression and 11k rpm
So when are we gonna weld up the coolant gals fire rings and send it? Just use the big turbo lol!
Yeah boys!!! Next vid: head studs and 60 psi 😍😍😍
Need to get a v stack on that big turbo and some solid engine mounts
Should have cooled the engine between runs and ice the Intake you had 600 before the last run the intake was heat soaked
RIP engine mounts 🤣
Dude.... are those stock motor mounts ?? Thats allot of flex....
Engine mounts 🪦
First 4 comments... you blokes are the bomb! I love it.. 33 for life..
Would it make sense to weld the head to the block? I wish the block was aluminium.
You are Crazy and whole lot of power almost hp / kg 😂
Id be making another engine mount.
What happened to the dog shirts boys?
i love this channel
Coming to WTAC drags surely
This car is a MENACE to society 💀
What a contraption, i love it, does it have an auto transmission?
Sure does!
@@Camp_Dogs yeah wow, is it a built factory box or out of something else. Just subscribed, gona trawl through some of the old vids. Cheers mate.
Plumb the gates properly and it might actually make boost more than 30rpm before limiter too.
Pretty wild out of that little motor!
lol turbo is bigger then the engine
The problem isn't head studs, you so obviously need a bigger turbo.
This man needs a gold medal
Get some engine mounts ya dogs.
This is pretty epic
You should reach out boostedboiz, they split block in half leaving head intact with upper piece of block
You guys need to fix that motor mount or you're going to grenade that engine!😬
Nest stop chain link engine mounts & head bolts
Lmao I love it so unnecessary but functional 😂
Ah fack sake. That car is it's own rooster 🐓 block 🚫 .
those engine mounts need engine mounts...
That's right, like, comment, subscribe
Please make this car awd using an Evo 4wd drivetrain (gearbox transfer case and rear diff) I'm sure you'll do 9 seconds in the 1/4 mile
Hate the way you all hide behind the 240Z, you should be infront of it to protect it. 240z owner N.Z.
What gas u running it to? Have you tried methanol?
Just e85 from the pump
this is entertaining
The turbo looks bigger than the car in the thumbnail.
legends!
I'm thinking with the amount the engine lifts up under full boost , you might eventually need roof racks, just in case😂
Until the engine goes boom
Up the mighty camp dogs!
Intercooler between turbos
Mad starlet
Sorry, starjet
Whats up with the engine mounts?
Can’t see a problem here
Isn't the compressor map showing that turbo is too big for that engine?
Don’t know how to read it anyway 🤷♂️
@@Camp_Dogsfair enough
I think the motor mounts are shot😅
