    Dr. Jim Gordon is author of the new book, The Transformation: Discovering Wholeness and Healing After Trauma. In this interview with Tara, he talks about his work with populations around the globe struggling with trauma, and some of the most powerful practices that can be done on our own in healing trauma. Jim’s non-profit organization is the Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC (CMBM.org).

      Did you have any physical feelings of trauma arise after the shaking exercise? I’ve done it many times but once I felt physical sensations after and I’m curious if I’m alone.

    Peter Levin is a pioneer in trauma and somatic experiencing. Levin covered the animal world shaking off trauma years ago........ I highly recommend his books

    Osho was dead-on regarding this, and created "Active Meditations"; there are many which he created. There are RUclips videos explaining the process. He said that in the West, we had so much repressed, (trauma/shadow...(while he never used those words)) which needed to be released. Hope this is helpful to those resonating with the mindful release part. I personally used Vipassana, hit early trauma, and sat anyway because I thought I could/should sit through it. It has created difficulties for me. I didn't know better so this is a great talk. Thank you for this.

      right on. Osho was God in human form. And surely, all of us, and everything is. Just more evident in some beings

    Thank Tara, I’ve never heard Jim speak and appreciate the experience.
    I’ve been practicing RAIN daily for my own healing, it’s been wonderful during this period.
    In a few weeks I’ll be working with folks who the dancing will be perfect. I’ll also look deeper into this work.

    I have a reverse example - I have abused by my daughter - I hear a lot about children being traumatized - but not much about a parent. It's awful - because there is also a ton of guilt that I - as a mother - have created a nightmare for the child and myself.

    23:10 exactly my problem... for years now. RAIN is overwhelming frequently.... It retraumatizes. My physical bodily sensations of clothes touching me, or my own body parts touching other body parts are my biggest triggers.
    This are definitely ancient ways of healing
