    Rough spot to bash...shows how tough this truck it. Have pulverized mine for 18 months now. Always fun to take this little beast out pretty much anywhere! (Haven't had that problem with the ring gear and have run lots of 3S BTW.)

    That "favorite" construction zone of yours is a brutal environment to run these cars. Imagine driving a full sized(1/1) buggy/monster truck/UDR/ at 100+mph over boulders sometimes as tall as your tires as well as jumping at those speeds 50+ feet high and landing without the aid of a ramp on those same boulders.

    Ive had mine for 2 year's now. Its a little beast and will take a beating.
    Number 1 upgrade i say is the center differential upgrade. If not on perpetual 3s abuse you'll eventually blow a rear diff and wear down the rear dog bone till the nubs are gone and itll spit it out. Followed by the diff cups shortly after. 12 and 17mm hex upgrades are available. I went 12mm but you go 17nm you gain some wheek offset and i recommend that over 12mm.
    Countless trees smacked. Youll most likely waller out the pin holes in the suspension arms before you break one. Mine were done wallered out before i partly broke a lower arm. Finally did a full suspension arm swap then. That was literally not 2 months ago. 👍
    But i bought mine when they were 299 😬😬

      if you're going to do that...just get a 1/8 buggie..slapp truck wheels and tires
      on it..it'll have 1/8 harden steel, thick parts, 17mm to start.
      You can mount 42 mm dia 120A esc for around $60...Run it on 3-4s..
      it'll be plenty of power to bash it...
      i have that M1 mode center diff to that truck...i use it for whatever on road
      projects to drive the rear differrentals...1/8 dog bone wont fit on it.
      It's just easier for me to use 32 pitch gears and and 4072-4092 motors
      I have...Since it's on road..I dont worry much about 1/10 dogbone bending.
      it is what it is..if you over power it..it'll wear the cups.
      But it's cheap enough for me to replace every so often...once p/year..ect.
      i have it on 17" wheel base on MT/tires wheels..So I can run it on road 50 mphs
      without going through tires all the time. i also have a 18" wheel base
      go kart.lmao...with 30mm extended hex
      i dont fight it anymore...I use 1/8 for harder bashing.
      I have lots of 1/10 MT..different brands..redcat as will....I'll do mild
      bashing with them. I dont like fixing my toys anymore...Im over it or have
      a collection,now..so I just run 1/10 on good C rating 2S...which will give plenty
      of power..without tearing up the gears or rims/hex.ect

      @@oneeyemonster3262 considering i have 6 or 7 rigs.. not sure exactly what you're going on about to be honest. The 2 literal upgrades i talked about were maybe 50 bucks total. They make 2.8 wheels and tires on 17mm wheel hexes just you can get an extra 1/2 inch off set to be wider and more stable. Youre talking 40 mm thick cans and 82, 92 mm lengths ontop of it. In this 10th scale redcat the absolute biggest motor you can stuff in it is a 3660 can, comes with a 3655. With a 3660 can you're a literal couple mm away from butting up against the steering servo.
      Stock out the box on 3s this guy is doing 35, maybe 40mph. I said the center differential upgrade cause it has a solid spool stock with no slipper clutch or anything. So its straight from the motor to the wheels. There's no fashion of give or slip in the drivetrain. Nevermind my running temps dropped 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit on a center diff upgrade and nothing else.
      Im a 8th scale basher kinda guy, but 10th scale madness is also just as fun. Ive since upgraded the system in mine.. 120a max10sct versus the stock 80amp rtr and a 3660 4000kv hobbywing motor. Even though its less kv than stock its alot more motor and even gained some speed. Gps'd it at 45mph going up a 30° hill on a 10 tooth pinion versus the 9 it comes with stock. Absolutely mild gearing. With the center differential upgrade and stronger combo dropped in i didn't break anything for over a year. Its been launched, double, triple back flips 10 feet ik the air, smacked i don't even know how many trees in my yard going 20-30mph. The little truck has taken an absolute beatdown in full stride. After 2 years of owning it i finally had to do a full suspension arm and bumper replacement on it cause the pin holes in the arms were so wallered out from all the smacks its taken. Had so much slop and play it was time. To do that was 45 bucks. For 2 years worth of abuse? Ill take that.
      I want to really bash and tear up i grab my Frankenstein outcast that doesn't have a stock electronic in it. Thats got the 4082 can you're rambling on about, 150amp esc, 6s power, etc. etc. That doesn't float my boat i grab my hobao hyper sse and rip wel over 80mpg runs down my dead end road with about a quarter mile of straight clean road (gps'd 85 thus far.
      Im not doing that I'm deep into my crawlers on my little home made courses i have out back, even those dudes are on 3s all the time.
      Everyone has their own style and preferences. All i did was give a little friendly advice from a over 2 year owner of the rig he reviewed. Your comment was somewhere way off in left field. I frankly couldn't read it all cause of the tangent you ran off on that didn't have much to do with my simple comment 😅

      @@koolaidwaterfountainsforth4236 Im going on ..those 1/10 DOGBONES/CVD are WEAK and the stock gears cant handle a decent 40C 3S ( as he mentioned)..by the time you replace all of that it'll cuase more than $100....and with N wait n wait for parts.
      I can get 1/8 scale nitro rollers all day long for $100 or less. ( $10) or even $1 for 550 motor mount...slap a 4092
      1800KV on 22-25T pinon...make that bietch do 100MPH all day long too
      on a 6s 180A esc...but the damn tires will explode.
      it's $30 for a pair of 80 mph tires...that's YET to be proven on durablity

      @@oneeyemonster3262 and i just told you. After 2 years of owning it with a center diff, upgraded electronics i haven't killed anymore dog bones and or diff cups of any fashion. The center differential tuned right you wont have any issues. You cant fit in 8th scale electronic in it so you cant over power it.
      Ive abused mine. Im pretty sure I know what it can and can't take.
      My motor may blow but i bet mine will take 4s.
      Its even got heavier badlands mx28's on it which is added stress to the drivetrain. I only blew a rear diff cause i imploded a bearing (lack of maintenance). That was stock too before the electronics and center differential upgrade soo..
      Sorry you're not bluffing a over 2 year owner of the exact rig. That i paid 300 bucks for before they jumped up the price to 350..

I put in the locked center diff to prevent all the wheelies. So much tweaking can be done to this truck, it's a great deal.

    My 2 cents, Overall a good truck. Negatives first: hop ups are waaaaaay overpriced. In my experience drivetrain is weak on 3s. Overheats on 3s easily. Positives its a lot of fun once you get it where you want. It needs a bigger motor 3660 is the biggest that fits. in my experience the stock system overheats easy on 3s. It needs the center diff mod. So in the end center diff, bigger can and gear up to run on 2s so there's not as much strain on the drive train.
    Someone asked about comparison on the dukono. I personally prefer the dukono due to most of the upgrades can be had cheap as most of the volcano lineup upgrades fit. Buy the brushed version and build it how you want it and it should come out cheaper than this. Npch has some nice videos on it. But the dukono suffers the same drivetrain issue, except no center diff or mod available. I recommend running higher gearing on 2s. Hope this helps someone.

      What part of the drive line have you broken?

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme 5 лет назад

      I wouldn't say the upgrade parts are over priced. They are just decent quality aluminium. The rest of the redcat line use cheese aluminium which bends very easily. The aluminium parts for this are much better, also the steel skid plates are too much, but you can get a full steel plate set on ebay and various places that protects the full chassis for not much more than 1 of those skid plates. I have had the steel plates on the bottom since mine was new and it really helped.

    • @fgarcia2277
      @fgarcia2277 5 лет назад

      @@LawrenceTimme I'm going to have to disagree. 165 for the center chassis brace, 60 for a arms 50 for knuckles and you need the second part of the knuckles which are another 40. Those are 1/8 prices. As for the driveline I have pretzeled pretty much all of the driveline components twice. On very mild bashing especially compared to some of the other bashing that I've done on other cars. I have upgraded the knuckles and a arms so I would stop bending the cvds. Maybe 1 to 2 foot jumps on plush grass. While other comparable sized rcs take 6-8 feet of air and no damage or I upgrade once and I'm good.

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme 5 лет назад

      @@fgarcia2277 that is strange, I have never bent a driveshaft on mine and I send it pretty good. The centre brace is way too expensive I will give you that, but it's not needed at all, I haven't seen anyone buy one. The metal arms are also more for bling than anything else, the plastic arms are pretty solid. I have broke 2 or 3 but only on very bad landings that were clearly the fault of my driving rather than the truck being bad.
      The inserts for the knuckles also aren't needed. The plastic ones are fine as they don't melt line the proline Pro mt 4x4 do. However, I have upgraded to the metal knuckles at the back and the machined ring and pinion at the back, the reason for this happening isn't because the standard parts can't take the power though, it's that it's not shimmed at all from the factory.
      Also as for 1/8th prices, again its because the aluminium is quality, 1/8th upgrade parts are normally 6061 or 7075, and so are these parts. Tbh compared to a proline Pro mt 4x4 the part prices are slightly cheaper, amd compared to my tekno mt410, the prices are definitely 1/10th prices for sure!

    • @fgarcia2277
      @fgarcia2277 5 лет назад

      @@LawrenceTimme i got the arms due to the front cvds bending. I bent those too many times so I figured some rigidity on the arms was needed. As for aluminum upgrades the pro mt doesn't really sell too many and they're more for parts that NEED to be upgraded, I.e. shock caps, servo saver arm, c plate hinge pin holder most of that around $20. The tekno again I sold mine a while back but I don't think anyone really sells too much aluminum for it. The only ones I really see aluminum for is traxxas and even then decent brands cost you half as much. I'm not trying to put the truck down but in my experience it hasn't been that great durability wise. Once everything is set its good but after I spent quite a bit of money on it. I upgraded the shocks, the front lower a arms, front knuckles, center diff, lower metal protector and tbone front bumper all in the name of making it more durable on top of new electronics for the bigger motor so it wouldn't overheat so fast. I did all of that one at a time after breakage after breakage. This was before I learned to just let go instead of pouring money into something that may never be as good as you want or recoup some of the loss. It's a stark comparison to my be6s that thing has been a monster from jump. I was expecting a bit more of that.

      @@williamperri3437 Yes, seriously. But other than that, it's super fun to drive.

      @@williamperri3437 No, but I keep mine on 2s. You still get wheelies with it. If you go to 3s, the center differential would probably be worth it.

    Don’t buy this truck. Don’t buy any redcat vehicles. I bought a trmt10e and it was freaky fast... until it wasn’t. There were tolerance issues with many of the parts to begin with and the chassis is poorly designed. You can spend the same amount of $ on a better rc truck. Trust me. I’ve dealt with and owned many redcat trucks and I finally learned to steer clear of them. I race competitively now, so redcat is an absolute joke in the racing world. Learn from my mistakes.

    I think that Stampede 4x4 is better.
