Is it just me or is everyone else really excited about the road so far at the beginning of the episode?

Caroline Kirby No. I'm so pumped to see death again. I wondered when or if we would see him again its been a some time. Is Dean going to be a Grim Reaper now. And I hope we see Clair more. Her character is so interesting. Its sad that Charlie had to die. But sometimes good characters die. Anyway Sam says in episode 10x20 that goodbye isn't forever to Clair. They both Sam and Dean have come back from hell. Saw Bobby's and Kevin's ghost. Been to heaven and seen Ash, Joe and their mom and dads ghost so no goodbye is not forever.

The previous episode already made me gasp like there's no tomorrow and there could be a lot more of that during the finale. Freaking here out a bit, I can see Dean saying yes and becoming the new Death!
How Sam cures the Mark: Book of the Damned, which gets Charlie in trouble with the Stynes and eventually leads to her death, makes a deal with Rowena to have her decode the book with a codex locked away by a mad Man of Letters, despite being told that using the Book of the Damned would cause something worse to happen.
How Dean cures the Mark: Calls up Death, who provides Dean with a condition to removing the Mark.
So one of two things could happen here:
1) Either Sam's attempt succeeds before Dean can accept the condition.
2) Dean accepts the condition, and we saw the spell back-fire here because Dean no longer has the Mark.

It could actually be that Death might ask that of Dean... considering that the whole Lucifer thing wasn't ever really finished. As Metatron blurted out, "The river shall end at its source", and the source of the Mark is Lucifer himself... And there would be reasons why Death would want Lucifer gone - if Lucifer managed to spring out and bind Death, he might be able to do even more to him... Goddamit! Can't wait! And it is true, we do not know of any weapon yet that can kill Lucifer, so maybe Death's scythe might do the job. How was Michael going to kill Lucifer anyway?

Unless the cliffhanger is more shocking than waiting 4 months on last year's cliffhanger, when Dean opens his eyes and they turn BLACK...I doubt it. I'm pretty sure season 9's summer hiatus will always be known as the worst one.
That and Seasons 3 finale where he went to Hell. That was bad too.

But yeah, I agree. We get the next episode in October. That's screwed up...But hey, shows take a lot of work to create so I don't blame them. 4-5 months is pretty quick in my eye to complete most of the season's scripts, hiring actors, creating special effects, and all that jazz.

This is how I think the ending is going to happen..the original mark of cane said the last person Dean had to kill was his brother. I think in the end Dean is going to end up stabbing Sam not to death of course, but Rowena finds the cure and he is rid of the mark and it ends with Dean trying to save Sam from the stab he gave him...that would be a hooked cliff hanger
I don't think they would kill Sam or Cas. They got approved for season 11 and I don't think any of them would want to continue Supernatural knowing one of them aren't gonna be part of it again. No one is ever really dead in Supernatural buts still.

Ok, there are a few options for this finale.
-Dean kills Sam to cure the mark, like Cain said
-Dean becomes a reaper and works for the Death with a new "clean body"
-Dean starts the Cain's ritual by killing Crowley first.
-Or maybe Castiel takes back his full grace and kills Dean?

Remember when Death told Dean to remember the importance of the souls? I think this episode is going to have reference to that
I wonder what dean would do if Clair got hurt from a demon. Or what would Castiel would do. Like lets say Crowley did something horrible to her. Though maybe Castiel would be angry since Clair feels like a daughter to him. And would do anything for her. Also keeping her safe is his number priority to him. She hugged him in 10x20 so there relationship should be better. Maybe even a midge of caring love.
I think what death wants is for Dean to kill him and take the Death role. Like how The Dark One's magic works in Once Upon a Time. It would make sense because Jared said a Fan-Favorite is gonna die in the finale

SPOILER ALERT!!!!
While I was watching this show, the scene right before Dean tells Sam to close his eyes (which was so suspenseful) , I was like "what if Dean turns around and kills Death?". And a few seconds later that was what Dean did. I knew they was no way on earth that Dean would let the person he protected most die by his own hands. The reason he killed Death was because Death said that if Dean didn't kill Sam, then he would. Again, like the big brother he is, protected Sam.
RandomDC I saw it coming too. How the price was for Sam to die, the plot is kind of weak there. It makes no sense. I hope there is a bigger plot twist in the next season.

IM TEARING AT MY SKULL
I forsee 4 possible outcomes.
1. Death asked Dean to kill Sam. Doesn't make a lot of sense until you consider the poetic irony of it all. The mark *began* when one brother killed the other so naturally that's where the curse could *end*. Which if you think about it this would be an awesome ending. Lols but the season 11 plot would be a little bitter. I'd assume Sam would get brought back (sigh, like always -_-) and be uber bitter and pissed for Season 11 and besides even if I got brought back from the dead, I'd *never* forgive someone who killed me and I highly doubt anyone else would. Fictional character or not. So even though this *might* be the catalyst for the last episode I doubt Dean will kill Sam so this will probably lead to conclusion 2 or 3 even if outcome 1 is the catalyst.
2. Sam is forced to kill Dean in the struggle between the 2 brothers. Highly unlikely however but it would make for an interesting twist since the whole time the red herring was that Dean would kill Sam when it would actually be the other way around. A similar thing happened at the end of Season 9. The whole time they were talking about nuking hell but it turns out heaven got nuked.
3. Dean tries to fulfill Death's condition (whatever it is but most likely I think the condition is stop Sam from casting that spell) but doesn't stop the spell from being cast which launches a curse just as nasty upon the earth (since the Book of the Damned only cures a curse by unleashing one just as potent and nasty) thus the events of this season finale will be the catalyst for the events of Season 11 which would start of with Dean despising Sam and Cass for their involvement till they all get over it.
4. Death's lying and tricks Dean into becoming Death and with the Mark of Cain Dean would find some peace with the killing both able to sate the mark and not go power mad. Also highly unlikely but would make for a really cool ending.....but kind of hard for the producers to work out a Season 11 storyline. Maybe like before Dean tries to stop Sam from casting the spell but fails and Dean's stuck being Death until they find a way out of that *too* which *would* make for a Season 11 storyline I guess. Cool? Yes. Likely? Nope.
Out of those 4 options 3 seems the most likely.
Also there's a 5th option and that's that Rowena tricks them and casts a different spell or something. I at least think she'll get away with the book somehow.
Demogorgon47 First and second are a bit too cliche for the show. Third is most likely. Fourth is very unlikely as Death doesn't do lies and tricks as far as we know, why would he? He can do whatever he wants and there's no one to stand in his way, so he wouldn't have a reason to lie about anything.
How about this though? Death asks Dean to destroy the Book of the Damned itself, with the scythe. But, like Death usually does, there will probably be a time limit, after which the deal will be void. So maybe he'll have to get through Cas, Crowley (and his minions), Sam and Rowena, before they cast the spell and before the time set by Death runs out. As to why Death would want the Book of the Damned destroyed, I'd say there are things there that he would like out of the reach of mortals, like a spell that Rowena might be trying to do instead...

looks i am the only one who doesnt want "Normal Dean" back .. i really hope they will not cure him in finale, i mean .. i just love this Dean and i want to see more of him, it finally get intresting, this storyline is just awesome, and honestly ,i dont think that writers can come up with something better in next seasons, so .. But my prediction is that they will cure him somehow and next season will be same old same old again. Because they always screw up the best storylines.

I think Sam and Dean are not gonna be affected by the darkness because since death is dead, i think nobody will die. Yeah many people might disagree with me but... you never know. One thing that I'm curious about is what happened to Castiel and Crowley?!? But the thing i will think over the summer is what "IS" inside the darkness? Demons? Oh well, let the darkness... begin.

I think that Crowley wants Castiel to take him to Rowena to get revenge. Though, when I see the scene between those 3, I think that Rowena escapes and I get the feeling that we don't see the last of her. She will be on Season 11 as well.

The end didn't surprise me at all I'm afraid :/ I quite expected it. Though it's stupid to leave us with such a question like what's gonna happen between Crowley and Cas. I don't want Cas to die from that lame spell Rowenna cast on him. It's just stupid -.- I mean he's an angel with his own grace and even if he doesn't have his full wings he's still able to heal people and himself and pretty much do anything else rather than fly from a place to another. If he's going to die, at I least I want Crowley to kill him. And for that also, Crowley will have the reason that he wanted to protect himself from being killed and not just kill him because he's evil. I think deep down he likes Cas and he will try to help him before kill him.
i love sam and all but im getting real sick and tired of him being so ridiculously obstinate about the whole idea with the book of the damned!!! yes that is one 'lead' they have closest to figuring it out but i seriously have a damn bad feeling about it, it is called book of the damned for a reason. if only wads of cash could shower above me everytime sam mentions how dean is getting worst (which i felt he instead quickened the process by going behind his back with his little plan in prev eps).

Am I the only one who got tired of al the "Dean's out of control, we have to help him" thing this season??. I'm not saying Sam and Cas shouldn't help him, it think they should, but I feel like they abuse of that this season.
It's true he went too far at the beggining of th season. but... Cas and Sam have been saying that all the time and for me Dean wasn't out of control all the time, I know killing is only makIng the mark effect worse, but many times he did what he had to do.
Idk on episode 9 Dean hit a guy's head on a table to get info about Jimmy's daughter, and Cas told Sam and he was all "Oh, Dean was acting crazy! omg" and I was.... ¿¿?? is that something super weird that Dean will never do? come on' it's Dean.
Same on episode 22, it's true he loose all control at the end with the kid and Cas, but when they have him captive, they were about to kill him. and he did what he had to do, kill them first. and then Cas again "HE'S OUT OF CONTROL", yes he might be but he's just doing things he would do anyway, whitout the mark, it really stressed me out how much drama they tried to put on everything that Dean did this season.

This last episode was sooooo dumb! Dean beat up Cass? The Angel? With his bare hands? No. What about Cass? Why did he not bring the boy or Charlie back to life? Why all of a sudden do his powers not work? I mean is he solely there for fan service? God the writers of this show need to get their shit together!
Angel Naz Actually I have watch the show from episode 1. Castiel has brought Dean back to life, from hell, as well as Sam. He also brought back Bobby after Lucifer killed him.
Heck, Gadreel, the dying angel who was only at 50% inside of Sam's body brought back CHARLIE after the wicked witch killed her!
Castiel has his grace back now and is on good terms with heaven, so he should have all of his powers, except teleportation/flight due to Metatron's spell. The only reason they did not revive her is because the writers wanted to advance the plot this way, for drama.
As for Dean being supernatural, the mark makes him as strong as a demon, which, any basic angel can kill. However, I will acknowledge that Dean did kill one of the Knights of Hell which were made specifically to fight lower angels, however, Castiel was able to kill an arc angel by this time. So again, the only reason this happened is because of the writers.
DarksideJr I think it has to do with the fact Castiel didn't want to hurt Dean, so he wasn't really fighting at his best. But Dean was.
He didnt want to use his powers against dean. And if u remember. All angels fell, they lost almost all of their mojo. Not forgetting that castiels grace was stolen and there was barely anything left.
Delanoftw Gadreel fell and was able to bring Charlie back. He was so weakened that he had to hide in Sam's body. But he was still able to do it.
Castiel was also able to heal Charlie of her wounds from Dean, as well as her carpal tunnel syndrome. His mojo is back. Just bad writing.
Or maybe the actress who played Charlie wanted to quit?

Condition? Death has to return the Mark to Lucifer

Can we talk about the people we see in the mirror right at the start if you watch really closely (and maybe at a slower speed) you will see dean (obivously) cas and then someone else.... it must be really important over wise it wouldnt be shown or used. I keep seeing people moaning about the writers but no one is talking about this guy that is in a tanned jacket and plaid and has a bloody face ... can anyone explain
In the finale there's this guy called Rudy who's a fellow hunter of Dean. Long story short he gets kidnapped by a vampire and Dean tries to prove that the vamp doesn't have the guts to kill him, and that he can just walk out of the place he's being held in, even though the vamp has a knife to his throat. Dean tries to prove his point and makes a sudden movement on purpose to show Rudy that the vamp won't react, but he does and he stab and kills Rudy. Dean later sees him in the mirror because he begins to feel guilty about his death.

Mike Shiva NO one has the Mark. That's why Death said if no one has it, then the Darkness is unleashed. I think Rowena "added" to the spell to amplify her powers along with banishng the Mark.

I think Death wants Dean to kill himself, since the First Blade and Death' Scythe are probably the only weapons that can kill a Knight of Hell
