Video: "Entry-Level"
Me: **Sees Soldering** **Leaves**
You are watching a custom keyboard video. You lost?
@@fns58 cant take a joke?
@@fns58 To be fair any hotswap would be more "entry level." Cool board tho
Hahaha you’re right, it is definitely a barrier to entry. I will try to put together a no-solder entry level build video as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@JaeyouPark next time please make something with that wierd autofocus focusing on everything except it is needed to, or dont use it at all
How have I missed this build walktrough, I swear more of these and the channel is going to blow up instantly
Thanks so much for the kind words!
I always knew gateron yellow were quite high pitched but you make them sound good!XD
nothing a little 205g0 cant fix ;)
This is also partly due to the board he is typing on. The Alu plate is relatively neutral, and when paired with the Acrylic case (+ the Keycap material / profile) the sound will be MUCH different than a similar metal case build. Also the recording can be another variable, yadadadadada.
Definitely keep this in mind when listening to sound tests!
@@walkerstandard2373 true I just always have the idea the gat yellow are more on the high pitch side
I’m not sure how true this is but lubed ga yellows with trybosis 3204 are relatively thocky but it rly depends on plate and case
@@walkerstandard2373 so if i put this on a gk64xs board the sound would be so different?
Damn your keyboard sounds so much better than mine, even though I have ink blacks and aluminum case, just shows how much skill you have. Great work!!!
thank you so much for the kind words!
It’s also the mic it makes it sound 10x better and sound is not everything feel and speed is huge to
Probably cause the acrylic case make a more muted and less pitch sound than a aluminum case.
acrylic/polycarb case makes everything sound deeper so its probably that
You're surprised a Polycarbonate case sounds different than your Aluminum one?
...
Hey, just a normie passing by to look at cool keyboards while typing on my 3 year old red dragon from amazon. Nice video dude
I have a 3 years old Redragon as well. lol
I've been watching custom keyboard videos for a week now. I'm obsessed.
Same loll. Calling all red dragon keebs
Same, it has blue switches
3 years old? Thats sweet. I still use my first keyboard, a Logitech g110 thats like 10 years old now 😅
update
This has to be one of the best sounding boards out there... I might need to cop xD
Definitely a great value board!
So pleasing to the eyes and ears. Love the keycaps too.
Thank you for the kind words :)
I just built this exact board like a month after watching this for the first time just with black inks.
It's a very, very nice board.
To me, this keyboard is much nicer than what I would call an entry level board. Was one of the boards I was eyeing when I first got into the hobby tbh.
The plate with the acrylic looks so clean
acrytlic does have a unique look for sure
So calming to watch you build this ♥️
Thanks Brian! Loved the plants in your recent maja video :)
That's like the exact board I'm gonna build!
Best of luck with your build!
Any updates on your keyboard 👀?
@dissy don't know depends on which one u like more.
I'm so glad this channel is gaining more traction, the videos are incredible and they're finally getting the recognition they deserve!
Definitly the best case in the market, change my mind.
I love that ceramic sound of spacebar
I’ve been looking at products this is helpful
It's a great board!
i like it bcus its neat and satisfying
This is the first video that got me into this hobby. :)
to fu 65 is still such a good board imo, i have multiple keeb builds that cost me over 1k and i still use my tofu 65 for gaming and wont ever sell it, just like my utd 356 mini, polaris, vega
Gat milky yellows are a GOATED switch
This guy puts so much effort into his videos he should be way more popular
sounds insane!
I love your keyboard man .
thanks a lot!
Damn I really like that green and the grey. Great aesthetic!
Immediately clicked subscribe at the end of this video. This is SO GOODDDD
tyty! :)
Hey Jaeyou! Thanks for the build video! My typing test is up now by the way. Not the best as it's my first, but I tried.
Hey Kelan! I like he blue themed board! Keep on building :)
@@JaeyouPark Thanks! And can do, this might actually be my next build in like a year lol(the tofu)
I shall take the honor of the 200th comment and congratulate you on such an amazing piece of work you have done for that board
thank you for the 200th comment! really appreciate the kind words :)
I find ur vids satisfying bro
the noise of the keys sounds so good
I like how he actually reply’s to people. Good content. Keep it up :)
All these awesome group buys and awesome boards coming, but this is classic!
that board looks sick, i decided to get the acrylic tofu65 as opposed to a metal one because of how cool it looks in this video
This is really a therapeutic video. love it.
Glad you liked the video!
Im surprise the foam still lets that much underglow rgb to shine. Nice!
Who needs lofi builds when you have custom keyboard videos
Finally! My IPC Class 3 Soldering certification will come in handy.
with that kind of skill you should try through hole boards!
I'm in love with this keyboard, wish you were selling it, keep up the amazing work dude!
If you add the shipping and the import fees because KBDFans declare up to the last cent for shipping, this ends up being a board of around 250$, which for many, is definitely not entry level if you add another 100-200$ for switches, keycaps and stabs.
But definitely a very nice mid-range board. Wanted one for ages, but for me, another 65% board is just a whim I cannot justify lol.
250+ is considered MID RANGE keyboard nowdays?
Yooo I’m so hyped thanks you that’s definitely my next build
Will see you in 10 hours during the premiere ;)
Yup even if it’s the last thing I do😂
the camera quality is better than in real life
Great video once again, very interesting and nicely made. The board sounds and looks amazing!
still trying to figure out what kind of build videos I wanna go for haha thanks for the support!
That sounds really nice and crispy
There is this keyboard, and then my ducky one 2 mini with cherry mx browns :|
your skill is insane.
Love the acrylic tofu. I got the gateron yellow pros on it, but it seems like the milkys sound a little better. I do not feel like unsoldering though 😩 dope video!
Thats a beautifull keyboard,
I can't bellive you made the keyboard sound that good without GMK's
PBT is the key, any mid range pbt is better than GMK
@@houghwhite411 pbt is the most affordable keycap. But there are 3 well known keycaps, abs, wich is the budget one, pbt, which is the little bit more expensive but most affordable one and then gmk wich is the most expensive but highest quallity. I have never had any gmks but im kinda sure they would feel and sound better than my pbts. a thing many dont know too is that gmks often are made of same plastic as abs
@@skrillz1456 My friend who had gmks said that a decent pbt will feel as good if not better than GMK. Idk, it's his preference, I gotta borrow his stuff to find out
@@houghwhite411 yeah we all have diffrent opinions.
Wooooow this is so
beautiful!!!!
Damn! This one hits The Holy Algorithm just right 👌🏻 😳!!
So proud of you on hitting 5k!!, proud to say I was subscriber One 🤣 ☝️
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Woooooow! Best looking and sounding keyboard so far! Please take my money, I want one!
looks so good!!!
acrylic tofu is
it's so unique and affordable!
Soldering isnt really beginner, so what im thinking is milky top gat yellows with kbdfans tofu65 aluminum diy kit and durrock v2 stabs
Could you please leave the exact link of the case and another hot swap pcb on kbdfans
Thx would really appreciate it.
Yoooo bro that spacebar kills it all
Wow, that sounds beautiful
Thank you :)
Beautiful
love your stuff man
appreciate it!
I love this keycap set!
This is my favorite keyboard
Tbh, my gk61 with lubed gateron yelllows and durock plate mounts, steel plate and lots of foam sounds almost the exact same. Just that yours sound a little more clacky:)
Ohhhh, that sound 🤤I want it
This sounds sooooooo good!!!
beautiful mint color
such good vid the vibes
damn nice sound without the o ring mod (curious to see how that would change the sound)
I do have a sound test video of the acrylic tofu65 build with o ring mod if you are interested! ruclips.net/video/6yx-A1z86iw/видео.html
hey, that's really interesting. idk if you would agree but honestly without the o ring mod the board sounds a lot more full, and a bit thoccier (maybe that's just the spacebar haha)
sick build tho! and really nice vid quality, you def deserve more subs :D
NICE build
that sounds so nice
If that keyboard had the light onlyon the letters with the same green color it wold be the best ever
you could solder perkey LED if desired :)
Wow, this sounds good. I have tofu60 aluminum, it doesn't sound that good.
the perfect keyboard doesent exi...
Hey, I was just wondering wich pcb that was because of the awesome shine through. Awesome vid man
i hope they make a hotswap version of the tofu96!
The exact keyboard I want
That keyboard looks good!
Man great vid but if you make an entry level walkthrough, its for entry level people and we'd really appreciate if you doing intricate stuff like lubing switches/stabs wasn't blurred out for "aesthetics"
ooh a wowstick!!!
wait no not a wowstick :(
Will it sound similar with a cheaper plastic case or no?
hi there :) what PCB are you using for this build? didn't see the info anywhere, unless i'm just blind haha. amazing video and build btw!
kbd67rev2, sorry I think I only answered this in the comments. I will try to add it into the description later!
probably my dream keyboard, I’m planning to get the acrylic tofu 65 kit. Also, which do you prefer? Jwick blacks or ktt strawberry’s?
What PCB? afaik the KBD67 PCB has switch LEDs but not underglow LEDs.
Great video - keeb sounds awesome!
Kbd67rev2 soldered. It has underglow but no built in per key.
@@JaeyouPark Perfect, thank you!
that sounds sick bro
Thank you Rafi!
9:40 typing starts
Totally forgot to put chapters in this video!
Awesome build! I'm new to creating and was wondering what size your stabilizers are so I can replicate this build :)
Can this be replicated with a hot-swappable PCB? It sounds amazing but I'm scared to solder.
this is the dream
Yo! It has been a while! Great video always! Quick question, may I ask if the corners and edges are too sharp and are not comfortable to use? I am planning to build one with wooting PCB for gaming, and just want to make sure comfort is not sacrificed.
jesus this keyboard looks soooo dope
Wait, can you see it?? haha It should be premiering tomorrow 😅
*entry level*
is there one negative thing about hotswap? Why should someone solder if there are hotswap boards?
Hey man do you have a solder fume extractor off camera? The fumes from the solder are heading towards you 5:25 and there is a chance you could inhale it. Best of health, man. Awesome video ^^
Hey Slime, I do have a fume extractor/purifier that I use for soldering. I usually film the first couple joints without the purifier for the clean aesthetics, but I put it on right after for the rest of the joints! Thanks for worrying about my health 💛
@@JaeyouPark Apologies for the delayed ass reply, but np! I was just a bit worried you may hurt your lungs but it seems my worry was for naught.
Thanks for the videos on the Tofu btw! It's making me super interested in the Keeb hobby haha.
Now I'm just wondering if Acrylic is better than Alu or vice versa 🤔 😊
How much did it cost to build the whole thing in total?
any1??
I just looked at the switches, and just the switches alone would cost you upwards of 500$... Was thinking it would be cool to build one of these, but after looking at the prices... Hell nah
@@mlgpro6194 are you ok lol the switches cost like $20 for 70
@@mlgpro6194 oha
@@mlgpro6194 How high were you when you wrote that comment? Milky yellows are like a $0.24 switch. 70 switches (which is more than enough for a 65% build) is like $17
Hi, may I ask, 1. what lube did you use on the stablizers? 2. What PCB is that? 3. The white foam you used, is that custom? Thanks!
krytox 205g0
kbdfans67 pcb
3 im not sure but doesnt look custom
Well said i would be here
💛
hi do you still remember me???
what was the total cost? also, I didn't see the led light installation in the vid? did it came included with the board?
The PCB has LEDs on the bottom
Imposs-IMPOSSIBLE! ITS OVER 9000
Reminds me of the GamaKay K66!
clean
COOL!!!
кайф для ушей!🧡
wait until he wants an entry level car.
hahaha I am glad I am not a huge car guy... 😅
ok we are lubing the suspension springs with krytox and the gears with di eletric grease and adding an rgb acrylic bumper
@@speedjunkie813 off with the steering wheel we are using a stick to control this
@@speedjunkie813 i would replace the suspension with a large durock screw in stablizer
@@speedjunkie813 so installed some eibach blues with softer custom springs. Then i got some brembos drilled brake discs and lubed them too. When i get out of this hospital i will start my car rebuild series so stay tuned.
