True I relatively recently joined and it was so insanely hard to get started. We need more videos like this to bring custum mechanical keyboards to the mainstream, just like custom PC's.
Thank you. I'll be getting a mechanical keyboard soon and finding beginner friendly videos has been extremely hard frustrating. Your video stands out as the only thorough and beginner friendly video I could find.
Yes, please! YES! I hope you keep this series up and keep it as informative as possible for beginners to this hobby. It's a steep learning curve with all the abbreviations, different build types (i.e. casket mount) and ways to buy certain parts (group buy).
Okay this is really weird...I was literally just thinking yesterday “I could use a super solid beginners guide to mechanical keyboards” and here it is!
Beautiful! Thanks for the thorough and simplistic rundown. The mech keyboard universe is in dire need of beginner's material, and this has everything someone would need to get started. This is the manual for anyone who is looking to get into the hobby. THANK YOU!!
Mannn I wish taeha uploaded on RUclips more, this is great! On a side note, my glorious pandas just came in, and my banana split switches are coming tomorrow!

Thank you so much for this video I wanted to build my keyboard but didn’t want to solder but know I know I don’t have to do that if I get a hot swap pcb
Thanks. I am relatively new to the mechanical keyboard scene, and although I already know much of the things talked about with switches, stabs, etc, it was really helpful for knowing more about things like plates and key cap profiles. 👍👍👍
Oh my gosh! RUclips why did you not suggest this video when I was searching for beginner's guides a week ago. This is so clear and concise! So many other videos assume you already know a bunch about this field. Thanks so much for the great video! I've joined the Discord now :) excited to learn more!
Thank you so much. I've been watching hours of your videos the past few weeks. Currently waiting for the parts of my 60% (first build) to arrive. I'm sending this video to my friend...hoping to infect him with the keyboard bug too.
Although I will never get into building mechanical keyboards as it is too expensive and my dad won't buy me, this looks extremely fun like building pcs. Seriously, Taeha did such a good job with the video, he needs at least couple million (emphasis on at least) to do justice for how explanatory his videos are and the amount of time he puts into them.
I relatively recently joined the mechanical keyboard community and it was so insanely hard to get started. We need more videos like this to bring custum mechanical keyboards to the mainstream, just like custom PC's. There is way to few good quality tutorials on RUclips. Keep up the good work 👍
You have no idea how amazing this video is for an introduction to this hobby, thank you for paving the way for me and many others. This is a huuuuuge help!
I really like this series! You should do the next one about buying custom mechs, the market and how it works. But you probably have other ideas and some of it is addressed in the google form in the description.
Im watching this as someone who is very familiar with the custom keyboard community but Taeha just has such high quality videos that i just watch them all anyway :D
I have to say I LOVE the effort put in to the animations! They are crisp and clean! But the only thing that I would add is that you stick to a maximum of 3 colors. (the light red & silverwhite combo is fire)
While you don't post too many of these types of videos (not just a VOD), all of them are just done so well. Looking forward to you doing more non VOD RUclips content. I've rewatched this video several times already.
I remember back in the days being called a nerd was a bad thing, but hearing Taeha call me a nerd makes me feel good, good about myself for spending god knows how much on keyboards.
Really good and concise explanation, well structured. The animations are great for helping visualise a lot of things that beginners will be confused about. Gonna be sending this video to poison my friends!!!
I've been diving into the custom mech world for the past week or so and the information flood is either massive, or it's totally hidden. This video is single handedly the best "starting kit" to anyone starting out and wanting to know the basics!
