    An eagle is flying in the blue sky looking for food. Trees pass through the dense forest and relax and eat snacks on the beautiful lake. The lake is really beautiful. Enjoy hiking in wonderful places. It's a great video.👍💕😀

    Cool video Donna. Loved seeing the Bald Eagles. Great closeup shots too. Big dog tracks. No human tracks with them then maybe wolf. That spongy moss is super cool. Never seen grouse droppings before. Unedited lunch video, raw footage! LOL. Nice hiking boots! Targhee II's are great but I use the III's now. Great hike and exploration. So fun. Have a great day.

      Thanks so much Steve! That's usually the principle I go by - a dog walking by itself in the woods is likely not a dog but I'm still hesitant to jump to conclusions. The lunch was a real bonus to find in my clips after - it was fun trimming it down into some sound bites. Hope you're having a nice Sunday as well!

    Hmm, not sure how I will feel about bran for breakfast in the future😐 Yeah, that crunchy lichen, we have a hill on our property which is mostly granite and faces the sun, so on days when the temperature goes above 40C the rock is so hot you could almost cook on it and it is covered with various mosses and lichens, yet in winter during our rainy season it turns bright green and feels like a sponge. I am always amazed how quickly it comes alive as soon as the rains start. You have made a very entertaining video Donna, with engaging narration😊👍

    You share so many insights, Donna! I knew bald eagles had a long juvenile period but didn't know it was 5 years. I'll google later their life span but that's amazing. LOL, Inuits special food (or so I've read) is the reindeer lichen "jelly" in caribou's stomach after a killing. Hey, that was their vitamin B and kids raved for it on the return of the caribou hunt! 🤩

    • @DonnaTaibossigai
      @DonnaTaibossigai  2 года назад +1

    Beautiful eagle footage, Donna. Loved seeing them perched up close and in flight! Tasty morsels in that pond. Interesting about the reindeer lichen. Never knew what it was called and their story. Enjoyed lunch despite the "crappy" seats! Loved the hike. I'm assuming your in the Thompson area? The find was sad and we would have liked it better if they had taken all the meat. We're from an area where poaching was common not that many years ago and the folks really needed the meat. I'm sure some still do, but 4 seems a little more excessive! Commercial? Thanks so much for bringing us along.

      We applying for our visa's today on "arrivecan." If all goes well (it should) we should be entering Canada on August 6th and be in the Thompson area by the 8th or so. We don't have a set timetable but we're going to have fun!

    • @DonnaTaibossigai
      @DonnaTaibossigai  2 года назад +1

      Hi Dave! It could definitely be a commercial hunter. My sister says that there are "guides" who bring hunters to the area for an "authentic experience". They're not practices I generally agree with as it usually involves bear-baiting or other things that are not really fair to the animal and not authentic hunting in my mind. Traditional hunting for food, yes, I can agree with as it's useful and more respectful to the animal as well. Thank you so much for watching!

    • @DonnaTaibossigai
      @DonnaTaibossigai  2 года назад +1

      The reindeer lichen were interesting. I always saw them in the forests whether it be from our fishing excursions or woodcutting. I also find it interesting how I was never really taught anything about them but just learned by observation. Oh, they're squishy today... Oh, they're hard now and the weather is dry. I also tried bringing one home to keep as a plant in my room. Unfortunately I couldn't maintain the right habitat for it, but that was a learning experience too.

    • @DonnaTaibossigai
      @DonnaTaibossigai  2 года назад +1

      That is awesome Dave! Definitely stop by Pisew Falls on the way up - I'm making a short video on that which I will release in the next couple of weeks. Lyndon mentioned it in his video too. Little Limestone Lake is also a beautiful spot to pause - there's no services there or at least there weren't back in the day. It's south of Grand Rapids and a short drive on a gravel road. I keep trying to stop there but either end up missing it or the weather is too grey to make the drive in worthwhile. Here's a link if RUclips allows it: www.todocanada.ca/little-limestone-lake-manitoba/

    Big shame about the caribou. But at least it gave you an amazing sighting of all those birds.

      Thank you so much Dinesh! I think hunting is legal in the area as it's not a protected park, but they only allow hunting in the fall, after the mothers have raised their calves. The fellow who left his hunting setup there is also breaking rules as you're not supposed to leave things there when you go. It was amazing to see so many signs of animals. Thanks again for watching Dinesh and hope you're having a lovely weekend as well.

    That is a wonderful trail, my dear. I am so glad you found the Bald Eagle. It is a very big bird and I have never seen it before. Wonderful video. The little lake looks great. Are those the sound of the frogs? Thank you so much for sharing.

      I was very happy to see the eagles and never thought I would see so many. Did you know Bald Eagles are actually a sea eagles that have adapted to living inland? And yes, you definitely heard the frogs! Thank you so much!

    A excellent hike amid nature, Don! You possess admirable knowledge about bald eagles and ravens! Sad to know why they're flocking in that area!😌

      Thank you Carol & Derek! I edited down my clips a lot to keep the best footage. I think either word would be fine to use! Have a great day!
