That was a great backpacking adventure. A bit muddy in spots but when you have magic butterflies it makes it all better! It was pretty neat to see the grouse. Wow, those river crossings were legit! So cold! That certainly adds to the adventure. The views up the canyon and in the area were beautiful. Cool to see so many horse riders going through the area. I'll bet the northern lights were amazing. The camera never does it justice. Definitely have to be there for those kinds of spectacular displays. Don't get stuck in the bog! Awesome trip. Have a wonderful day.
It really was an awesome trip and I would love to head back there again. The vibe of the area with all the horseback riders was really lovely. The friendly grouse were awesome, too. Lyndon will definitely remember his water shoes next time!

This looked like an awesome backpacking trip. I just saw my first grouse recently while hiking in Nevada. They do walk like chickens. That was a great idea to bring the water shoes for the creek crossing. That one crossing looked tough because of how fast the water was moving. I liked seeing all the interesting things you pointed out - from flowers to bugs to rocks. It looks like you had a very nice area to camp at too.
It was so awesome getting to hike here. I would hate to see the river in spring when there is more water flowing. And yeah, it was pretty fast and had some push - kind of why I didn't film myself walking as I wanted both hands for my poles to help keep my balance. Grouse really are awesome birds and it seems so funny how they prefer to run rather than fly. Hope you have a great weekend!
A wow of a hike, dear Donna. I've hiked a bit in both the Canadian Rockies and the American Rockies, but nothing as deep in the woods as this. How very wonderful for those who can accept the challenges and bring knowledge of the terrain with them, as you have! A great, great video! Thank you! Linda
Great adventure! I’m happy that you got to go together! You had so many water crossings, whew! I can just imagine how cold the water was… brr. I’d say you’re experts now! Lol, after all those water crossings I definitely felt more confident about doing it. I was pretty worried about Lyndon crossing barefoot but I'm glad he made it across. I'm also glad I was able to overcome my dislike of the Spruce Bug! It really was a great place and we want to head back to explore some more.
@@DonnaTaibossigai It’s a really nice Wilderness Area, hadn’t heard about it before. You’re definitely an experienced water crosser now, lol! I haven’t had crossings like that, so far we’ve had pretty shallow crossings that we just walk across- this was some serious water! Good job with the Spruce Bug too! ⭐⭐⭐
Wow Donna - what an amazing trek. Totally out there. I loved the forests and the tracks - although a bit muddy and with those stream crossings. The Bugs are the stuff of nightmares 😃but the geology is amazing - the formations on the rocks in the stream are so beautiful! Cold mornings but what a place to be!! Enjoyed following along with you guys on this one.
Hi Dave & Sue! It was such an awesome trip, and a bit enlightening overcoming my childhood fears of the Spruce bug/pinchers. I also really enjoyed seeing the variety of rocks on the riverbed. I really hope we can go back again next summer. Have a great weekend!

Yeah, Lyndon definitely had a hard time with the cold water. I kind of enjoyed it, but I had the water shoes which really helped. I quite enjoy seeing all the mountain flowers. Thanks so much!

I know some ppl dont like when ppl stop and restart a video,, (not sure why) So sorry it took me so long to complete your video! WOw that was a great adventure for you both. Loved seeing all the wildflowers in your area! I like the Seed head of the close up one. Crossing water like that is very challenging!! Rocks can be so unsteady and slippery! AWWW Hi Wolf Spiders! Look at them all! A great place for them to hide!! MMM oatmeal always hits the spot!! Great job on your backpacking journey! The Tree are magnificent there! Take care!
Hi Brenda! Not at all, and I am very glad you watched bit by bit (I've done that too with long videos, too). Willmore was such an amazing area with so many trails further in that would be easier to reach on horseback. It was unfortunate that we only had a couple of nights to spend as we had houseguests coming. We really would love to go back and see more...hopefully next summer! Great video, Donna. It was nice seeing Willmore again. I actually went on horse back with an outfit from Jasper a long time ago. We camped out for a week and I watched the hoses turned out to graze with tethers around their feet. They had to jump to get anywhere. Thanks for taking me back. Joan

Now that was quite the adventure!! I'd probably deal better with the cold water crossings more than manure...especially at the campsites. All in all though I can imagine it was quite a wonderful experience.
