are you using a 5V turbo and if so did you set it to max voltage? I'm wondering if a naked 18650 at 4.2v charge will be enough. i would just charge it at home and eliminate the board
@@electromagics sorry the blower fan is nicknamed a turbo. i was wondering if you measured the output voltage to the fan and if you are using the 5v model.
Looking into it for a few minutes, it looks like it's gonna be like $100 for a single print of this... If anyone knows how to make this affordable for people let me know. Not interested in running a business selling these units out of my house.
do i need to buy the board or can I just like them all together? Also, thanks for the idea, I've tried to 3d print my own version but used a PC fan lol.
@@gigiduru8198 hypothetically if you had a 14500 charger and you were planning on popping it out it would at least work for a bit without the board, but the board does the upregulation in voltage, and allows for USB charging of the lion battery, so I'd recommend using the board.
Just got my stuff delivered and noticed when i applied power to the fan it bearly moves any air, granted i dont have the step up board atm because i ordered juat the charging board by mistake but will the step up get the fan reall pumping? I even connected the fan to a 11.1 lipo and it wasn't impressive
Its a 14500 lion battery advertised at 2500 mAh, probably was less. Never measured full run time at full power. Have mine dialed in to about half power, which kept up with a 90 deg sweaty day at the field for at least 4 hours.
Nice! I just bought an exfog from the field i play at, wish i seen this first, but printing it up for my son
I already have 3d printer and soldering tools, so only paied $11.85 with much time w/effort.
vs $60 exfog... just Do it Yourself.
Nice work!
This is a great idea!

I don't know what a 5v turbo is, but I think what you're discussing would probably work for your purposes. Send it and let me know how it works!

Hey, could you put this on shapeways so is ppl without 3d printers can make this?
I'm sorry, I'm unfamiliar with shapeways or what putting this on shapeways would entail. Can you send me a link to more information about this?

Bro! Niece job. Do you have the digital for print this case? Thanks 🙏🏻

does this board have over discharge protection for the 14500?
Unknown to me. I used protected 14500s

@@tk2097 huh. I'd expect 5V to move more than 3.8V, but less than 11V. These fans move a lot of air IMO. Maybe you got a dud?
@@electromagicsI ordered 24v fans instead of 5v!!!🤣🤣
Looks sick. What is the controller?
It's just a 3.7V to 5V-12V adjustable step up converter / li-ion USB charger.
what size fan did you use?
5V 5015
