- The cosmere is probably one of the best things happening within the modern fantasy landscape and it’s all thanks to fantasy author Brandon Sanderson. While he by no means invented the concept of a shared universe, he certainly has popularised it.

I am pretty sure that someone asked Brandon if "Harmony dies how many shards would he drop" and he said one.
So I don't think Ruin and Preservation are still two shards
@@PoPo-ku9oc Definitely not the information I got, but with Brandon revealing so much in live streams and at signings it's tough to be sure. I'll take your word for it and pin the comment for others to see :)
@@RavensRants I got the information from the podcast "The Sandersonian Institute of Cosmere Studies"
They mentioned it in one of their episodes
@@PoPo-ku9oc Thanks for the info!
@@RavensRants although I won't be surprised if Harmony can be splintered just like Adonalsim. So I guess it can both ways 😂
I believe Brandon has said it's possible to fix a splintered Shard by collecting all the peices and fusing them back together (similar to how Harmony refused Ruin and Preservation.)
Yeah but it's very hard and very rare
Unite them
Haha the mechanics of shards actually explain what happens when someone "breaks a fuse". They broke the fusion of their inner shards of harmony breaking ruin loose XD
Finally !THANK GOD!!! IM SO HAPPY I finally found a cosmere RUclips that has good production quality and pleasing vocals AND doesn't have the "HEY GUYS ITS YA BOI DJDBDIDISHEGGAUH" youtuber personality. A sincere ,thank you sir.
I appreciate this, I’ve heard a lot recently about the cosmere universe but haven’t started the books so it’s nice to have a quick overview to get my bearings before starting the books
Thanks for providing such great videos. Keep it up please, I love listening to someone passionate talk about all this.
Theory... Adonalsium is Brandon Sanderson.
Lol I highly doubt that's the case, but it gave me a good chuckle 😂
Theory: Tom Bombadil is Adonalsium
@@lonebattledroid4474 - You know, that’s not impossible….
Adonalsium is actually an anagram for Brandon Sanderson. You just have to add in a few letters here and there
No mention of trell?
Trell's true identity will be revealed in the next Mistborn book apparently. Didn't want to mention it until we knew for sure since the running theory is that it's a Shard we already know of. I'll probably make an updated list when that book is out
I think Hoid is rebuilding adonalsium
Yeah that's a fairly common theory, but not one I hold by
I think like preservation saw his death, adonalsium saw that in order for the creation to grow he had to die and be split and knew they would do so. He also foresaw the conflicts and wanted the universe to eventually bring the shards back together.
Nice! I can't find the one the your fav characters anymore... Anyway, I just saw you did some work on Wheel of Time. I seriously need to talk to someone bout my trouble with that story. It's impossible for me to read more than 5 or 6 books, then I have to stop - I don't want to know what happens (though I kind of do, of course). There's so much physical pain/torture in Wheel, I'm wondering if this is the reason. Thoughts, anyone, maybe? Please.
Lol well I'm only one book in, but maybe when I'm more caught up I may do a video on any frustrations I have regarding the story
@@RavensRants oh my... I'm very sorry. But maybe at some future time, when you read all of Wheel and wrapped your mind around it, we might talk. I don't think the fault is in the book, I'm afraid the problem lies with me, I just can't pin it down or at least name it. But first, you read it and enjoy it! In 20 years, we'll both throw on our glasses, turn up our hearing aids and trash the Wheel of Time, for old times' sake... (;
I have the same problem, while I am a fast reader. The wheel of time just trags on endlessly. I think it is because Robert Jorden planed the series to be 6 books not 14. He has so much going on its kind of like a movie with to many quick cuts.
@@benjaminwahl8059 that's a good description! I read very fast, too, though I read everything I have - and like - several times. With Wheel of Time, which I tried at several points in my life, I never get anywhere. Malazan Book of the Fallen I've read 16 times so far and it's way more material than WoT, I wish I could get to the bottom of the problem, since I'm currently without new reading material...
A movie with too many cuts might well be a big part of what I struggle with, it's like all I see is pain, physical pain from wounds that don't heal, from torture and things like that, while at the same time things rarely move forward enough to offer a counterpoint, or counterweight, to all that suffering. Is that what you meant?
Could I trouble you for a pointer towards new reading material? I'd be grateful!🌺
I'm by no means an expert, but didn't Odium mention Fortune as a shard when talking to Taravangian about the Diagram?
I have not noticed this but I do recall that the shard Survival has also been mentioned before so are those the two missing shards?
another great video!!!
Here, have a sub!
Thank you! XD
What about Trell? Is it a Shard?
Strictly speaking, Trell is one of the old gods worshipped in the time before the Final Empire, one of many religions preserved by Sazed/Harmony. The entity referred to as Trell in Mistborn Era 2 is likely a shard which has assumed the name Trell to hide their identity. The reigning theory is that Trell is actually Autonomy, due to that Shard's history of using a world's existing religions as a cover.
Trell's another name for autonomy
Well, Trell is the name of a being chosen by Autonomy to be invested by her power and become a sliver, it was her representative in Scadrial before the Lord Ruler started his hunting to the religions, and later on, at the second age of Mistborn, the one who took the title of Trell was Telsin.
What's the shard in the Reckoners saga?
Those are not Cosmere novels.
great video, but needs some background music or something, its too dry
What do you mean? It literally has background music playing until the end
