WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR YM!!! He was literally the best interlude character and I was so sad to see him killed off like that. It was especially cool when he talked about his religion that everyone is part of the same being which I think might have originated from the sleepless or something and it was super interesting. Plus he's just too nice to kill off like that
The Heralds is the main part of this series that just goes straight over my head while reading so this is pretty awesome. I had so many aha moments watching this lol. It's pretty mind-blowing how big the scope of this series (universe) is yet its so dense its almost impossible to wrap your head around everything on the first read.
Great video! By the way, the spren the cobbler was bonding wasnt Wyndle, it was a truthwatcher spren (I forget the name) I think Wyndle was sent, but the man was already claimed and so he was given to Lift instead
Good summary! A couple things though: -Ym the cobbler bonded a truthwatcher spren, not Wyndle. -Gawx is killed by one of Nale's skybreakers, not Nale himself. He rebukes the skybreaker who killed Gawd. Great work on the video!
Thanks so much for clearing those mistakes up! I believe that Wyndle did mention that cobbler offhand in some fashion though.. I'll need to look into that. The copious amounts of Sanderson I've been consuming has seemed to have muddled my brain there, much appreciated :)
"Wyndle then brings up Ym (without naming him) and comments that what a nice co-existence he could've had with the cobbler." Thats from the stormlight Fandom page so im assuming Windel had some connection to Ym at some point. Windle does mention the shoe maker quite a few times in edge dancer
Yes, Wyndle is a cultivation spren (which gives access to the Surges of Abrasion and Progression), while Ym was bonded to a Truthwatcher spren (giving him access to the Surges of Progression and Illumination). Wyndle does imply in Edgedancer that the cultivationspren considered bonding with Ym, but the Ring, an organization of cultivationspren in Shadesmar, opted for Lift because of her connection to the Old Magic. Wyndle himself “wanted to pick a distinguished Iriali matron. A grandmother, an accomplished gardener.” @Flipping Pages For an even better Sanderson database, I highly recommend Coppermind.net as it's really extensive and thorough. Great video though! Thanks for making them, @Lost in Discovery!
You’re so great. Since I’m caught up on everything I’ve just been watching in random order and I love your attention to detail. You’ve predicted a few things I would have never thought of; I think you have a good eye for spotting Sanderson’s tiny foreshadowing
Oh man, I’m so happy I found this!! Amazing video man, definitely subscribing, keep it up. Would love to hear more about the heralds, especially anything about the ‘dagger with the jewel in’ plot line
Yes I think that’s right too though I believe he does mention that the cobbler he kills had done a petty crime in the past (which he uses as justification).
Great Recap, and I really appreciate the detailed 'spoilers for these books but not for this book' at the start, because especially when RoW comes out, I probably won't get around to reading it for a couple of months and want to watch all of the spoil free content I can until I read it.
My Herald ❤️ Your videos are so clear and helpful (also for those who can't reread all the SA before Rythm of War) Aaaand I like the way you talk, no shouting, no useless sound effects, purely enjoyable
Man I thought i remembered what was going on but now I wish I would have watched these before starting warbreaker! time to pause the book and watch more videos! thanks
Awesome recap! Getting ready to read rhythm of war soon! I find it amazing that you reply to almost every single comment. Thanks for making cool videos. You've earned a subscribe for your lore diving!
Discovered your channel today and subscribed immediately! Please do continue this series even though RoW has already been released. This is a great resource for Cosmere enthusiasts who prefer listening/watching rather than reading endless and confusing Wob.
Thank you so much! Really means a lot that you've subbed and chosen to stick around. I'd love to (and will) continue this series of videos for sure. It's a tricky spot right now because the fandom is all consumed in RoW at once. We're all going on at difference paces, so it's hard to say whether my next video encompasses RoW spoilers and things like that. Nevertheless, more SLA and Cosmere videos are coming! :)
A small thing you forgot to mention, Nale is also the only 5th ideal Skybreaker right now. That's why he has two Shardblades, one being his Honorblade and the other his bonded Highspren. He might be the only Herald to have become a Radiant aswell.
Yea video on nightblood would be cool. Actually one on war breaker and now that I’m thinking in it one on the organization the 17th shard. Just food for thought.
Great video. This is the only Sanderson series I have read. I assume I am not alone in this. Can you do a video about Szeth’s sword that talks to him for us folks that do not understand what this sword is all about?
I would love to but to do that I would have to spoil events from another Cosmere book of his (Warbreaker). I totally urge you to pick it up when you have a chance, it will blow your mind in terms of that sword!
Just a couple nit-picks, the only honorblade that wasn't left in the circle was Talenel's blade. If it was Nales own honorblade that he was using in Oathbringer then he reacquired it at a later time. The other little correction is that the orders of the Knights Radiant did not serve under their respective Heralds. They were allegedly formed separate from the Heralds with the spren mimicking the surgebinding powers of each Herald. This was done without the help or knowledge of the Heralds and Nale was the only Herald to join his respective Radiant order, the Skybreakers. As far as we know, no other Herald joined a Radiant order. If I am actually wrong on this then I apologize but I'm pretty sure what I said is correct. Either way these are just minor nit-picks and aren't super important to understanding the story or this video.
So wouldn't Nale have known about the humans being the invaders before we as readers find out? It feels a little like he only decided to change once Sanderson could do Sunday without spoiling his big reveal. Am I off on that idea that the heralds were old enough to know that deep history?
The Virgin Nale
• Fake Cop
• Killed a nice old man
• Hunted a child across the continent
• Switched to Odium
• Abandoned his teammates
• Making excuses to kill Radiants. (So much for the Herald of Justice)
• Emotionally handicapped
• Definitely a virgin
The Chad Taln
•True Hero
• Held off the Desolation for 4500 years all by himself
• Did not blame the other Heralds one bit
• Instead was hopeful that humanity might have a chance owing to his efforts
• Fast enough to catch two speeding arrows instantly despite being mentally broken
• Herald of motherf**king War
• Totally banged Salash
Sekelsky003 here: It's always good to know that my meme is receiving attention.
😂😂😂
Legend has it Nale is still filling out paperwork in Azir.
Hahaha, love it.
😂
Brandon should write a "short" story about this. :)

Really good recap on Nale's story so far. I hope you do a video about Nightblood, there can never be too much talk about that sword.
Thank you! I'm really interesting in doing one on Nightblood, such a highlight of the Cosmere.
Would you like to destroy some evil today?

Great recap on Nale. I completely overlooked that fact that he was at the feast! Shame on me lol.
Thanks man. Yeah! There was so much going on that night, a lot more was at play I suspect.
Man I can't wait to read RoW prologue. You've read that part havnt you?
@@flippingpages4288 Yes, I caved and read just that chapter. No regrets!
You suspect uh huh.. you know! 😆
I feel like I'm in the dark haha
@@flippingpages4288 😂😂
Had to duck out early due to spoilers, but I can't wait to check this out after Oathbringer :)
All good man, I'll be keen to hear your thoughts of Oathbringer!
Good summary! A couple things though:
-Ym the cobbler bonded a truthwatcher spren, not Wyndle.
-Gawx is killed by one of Nale's skybreakers, not Nale himself. He rebukes the skybreaker who killed Gawd.

@@IrishCollegeGirl Thanks for all of the valuable info! That really clears things up for me :) I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Man your subscriber count is a disgrace to how great your videos over. Hoping to see it grow and grow!
That's super kind to say man, thank you!
You’re so great. Since I’m caught up on everything I’ve just been watching in random order and I love your attention to detail. You’ve predicted a few things I would have never thought of; I think you have a good eye for spotting Sanderson’s tiny foreshadowing

Thank you so much! I'll see what I can do :)
I think Nale only does the paperwork to kill someone because he was in Azimir, and needed to follow their rules. Normally he would just kill them.
Yes I think that’s right too though I believe he does mention that the cobbler he kills had done a petty crime in the past (which he uses as justification).
I think Wesley Snipes would play Nale pretty well in an adaptation.
I love your voice so much. It's just relaxing.
I really need you to do one on Taln. I really appreciate these videos. I had no idea I had missed or forgotten so much.
Yes to more in depth looks!! Yey!
This is great! Will definitely tune in for all the videos in this series. All of your suggested tangent videos sound great as well!
Thank you so much, that means a lot!

Thanks man! Always important to mark the correct spoilers, I'm glad it's helpful :)
Very good recaps! trying to remember everything for RoW and you keep pointing things out I completely missed in these videos
Thank you! So glad these helped a bit :) Honestly they were just as useful for me when I was making them, there's so much to keep track of!
Very cool vid! Great content. Thanks much! I admit I often over look the heralds and forget what their stories are.
I had the same experience so it was super rewarding looking into them! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
watching this after row is so good

Awesome. RoW is amazing so far! Thanks so much man, really appreciate the sub. I love chatting in the comments :)
Saw your channel a day or two ago and already watched a few different videos. Love your stormlight videos. Would like to see more :D
Oh, thanks so much! Many more to come :)
Great job. Just finished Dawnshard and watching all your videos before I start WoR

More of everything
Greetings from México! Great video!
Hey! Thank you :)
Great recap, interested to hear your thoughts/ deep dive on the others
Thanks man, many more to come!
I always imagined Nale as the V for Vendetta guy.
i appreciate these videos
Thank you!
Great video please make more such videos I enjoyed it a lot.
Yea video on nightblood would be cool. Actually one on war breaker and now that I’m thinking in it one on the organization the 17th shard. Just food for thought.
You need to do a video on Odium and the other gods of Roshar (cultivation etc.). Love your work.
Absolutely! Thank you so much.
Great vid just subscribed
Thank you so much!
you should make a video on night blood along with all the things you think could be a topic of a video.
I never realized wyndle was the spren with the cobbler. I sorta figured he got picked for lift and his neighbor went to the cobbler
Great video. This is the only Sanderson series I have read. I assume I am not alone in this. Can you do a video about Szeth’s sword that talks to him for us folks that do not understand what this sword is all about?

Herald blades, Spren blades and then there’s nightblood(the talking sword).
This video makes me wonder if Nale will end up being Odium's champion...
😱
Did you ever make the more in depth deep dice into the heralds all spoilers included??
If venli can break off from the fused will the skybreakers rejoin dalanar
Interesting question, I guess we will have to see but I suspect not!
Do you think he might of been picking up on that the king was close to saying the oaths.
where did that szeth with nightblood artwork come from!
Here you go: www.deviantart.com/littlegreydragon/art/Skybreaker-735944151
The one dislike was someone who decided to watch before reading the books despite the spoiler warning
So wouldn't Nale have known about the humans being the invaders before we as readers find out? It feels a little like he only decided to change once Sanderson could do Sunday without spoiling his big reveal. Am I off on that idea that the heralds were old enough to know that deep history?
Kalak or Taln
So... nightblood?
Wheres my Lift stans at?
Why didn't Nale came after Kaladin
Maybe Kaladin went under Nale’s radar, being a slave and bridgeman during his early bonding process.
nice video, but the mixing of the background music on top of your voice made it really hard to understand
music too loud, voice too quiet.
