I never knew about Sanderson revealing the end of Mistborn being hidden on the first page or that the same for Stormlight is also hidden in the text but when I heard that my mind went immediately to the death rattles. I'm planning on rereading the Stormlight books again armed with more knowledge of the Cosmere. Since Way of Kings was my first Cosmere book I was totally lost with the death rattles and some of the interlude chapters so I'm excited to read it again and now I have more to keep in my mind while reading with the whole ending hidden in the text thing. That's why I love all these books, there's so much mystery and most importantly they are just fun. I get some of the criticisms of these books but I don't care, I am having a blast with them and I'm so glad I gave Way of Kings a chance.
I am extremely hyped for this video. I'm quite convinced the answer to the grand finale is in the Death Rattles. Can't think of anyone better to take us through it!
This legit just blew my mind. I have read books 1 - 3 of Stormlight five or six times at this point, every time I discover some new piece of foreshadowing I missed on my previous reads, but the death rattles being prophetic in this way had somehow passed me by? I usually try to avoid a lot of online fan theories and speculation because I prefer to go into each new book with my expectations "unspoiled" so to speak, but I'll definitely be watching these videos, this is too exciting to pass up.

Same, I love the books but I'll have to wait for the smart people to make the connections. Then I can hear what they found and say, "Ohhhhhh, that makes sense, awesome!" XD
I've been thinking, and i think one solution for the usage of the word "men" in the second death raddle is that the one dictating it (maybe the same person that is sending them, although i'm not sure(i've only read until part 1 OB so far, so maybe that's answered)), is not human. So say if a parshendi, a spren or even something else entirely was trying to describe the scene it would be natural to refer to Kaladin and Shallan as two men, the intention beeing two humans. What do you think?
I saw the same comment from Sanderson and had the same thought! The most I was able to do was reread the books in awe of how much information he crammed into them. The interludes drew my attention, especially the purelake and the spren studies, but I'm not organized enough to look into them for other connections. The death rattles were also very interesting but, again, too much for me to wrap my head around. In the end I just enjoyed the books and decided I'd have to wait for them to be published to see what happens. But now you're putting this together!! I'm very excited to follow along! Your videos are excellent and entertaining and you tie things from other books together very well, making connections I hadn't even seen before! Long story short, thank you for putting this together and bringing us all along for the ride!!!

This is an exciting idea for a series! I’m not committed enough to do it myself but I’d love to see all the connections come together. One of the amazing parts of reading Brandon Sanderson’s work.
Ok, I'm gonna be honest here: Until the True Glory moment, I was totally like "My good man, you are insane, and may Adonalsium have mercy on your soul" ... but what can I say ... man, you got me :D I'm in. Total sucker for fan theories right here.
I actually got the "true glory" one upon my first read. Sanderson's chapter titles are a big sell. "Honor Is Dead" was the first Kaladin POV chapter I believe which is fitting because it gives us insight into Kaladin's misbeliefs AND also the events in the whole chapter show us his entire character arc. Tvlakv treats him like garbage affirming his belief that honor is dead but we see him being distracted by Syl in this chapter, a brief respite from the horrid things he's undergoing and guess what, Syl is a fragment of Honor as we find out later in the series, basically showing us Kaladin's whole arc at a glance(and a major theme of this book series) would be finding Honor, not only the Shard, but true honor in men. This is a recurring theme about honor not being dead and lives on in the hearts of men, something that Hoid told Jasnah in the epilogue of WOR and later came up in Adolin's trial with the spren in Book 4. And then Kalak said that that has sparked an ancient debate. The chapter title also quite literally foreshadows the revelation we later get in the book that God is dead. An obvious one I got was that in the first chapter where Dalinar battles the Parshendi Shardbearer, it's aptly called Eshonai even though her name isn't mentioned in the chapter. Also, be very careful with Sanderson's word choice throughout the books. He deliberately strays you away. One of the biggest twists of ROW was Shallan having bonded two spren and that what she did to Testament was her darkest secret, her worst mistake. I was at first like, "Wait, that's it? Feels like a copout", but if you read TWOK, in the chapter she encounters Pattern for the first time, the same word choice was used in Rhythm Of War as we see her summon Testament for the first time, not to mention that Sanderson says "ten heartbeats" before she does so, showing that she was summoning a deadeye before. This is the exact quote: "Ten heartbeats, to bring forth the fruit of her sin, the proceeds of her most horrific act". Then when opening Urithiru for the first time, Shallan says other blades won't work only hers because well, it was Pattern. So this creates a discrepancy that ultimately foreshadowed that Shallan created a deadeye(or at least had two blades). You can easily take it the other way grammatically and he strayed us away with something the reader would consider more serious, the killing of her parents, making us ignore what is literally right before us. Another piece of foreshadowing is Jasnah and Shallan's interaction after she killed the men who tried to rob her, whether intent justifies the means. We see this come up so many times especially in Book 4: Dalinar vs. Taravangian, Lirin vs. Kaladin, Eshonai vs. Venli, Raboniel vs. Navani, Moash vs. Kaladin, Kaladin vs. Jasnah(in book 3) we even see this in Odium vs. Honor. Honor created the Pact to protect man, but ended up subjecting the Heralds to physical and mental torture for thousands of years all in the name of protection with little regard for them and whether such conditions would truly enable them to keep their oaths since at the end of the day, no matter how many powers they had, they were still MEN. Odium knows that a world without passions is bound to fall apart, so he goes about this in starting a war with the mortals. Is it really justified that millions of men die all in the name of Passion? Also, by the end of Book 4, seems like Cultivation is now joining the mix. Something I'd also want you to look out for is the prologues. Those prologues... and the titles, and also this ketek thing we're doing. The ketek seems like subtle foreshadowing and also him naming all the prologues with "To...." and giving us different perspective of ONE night such that at each book we keep going back to it. Does it mean that at the end of the day the goal is to go back where you started? The keteks really enforce this. This can mean several things e.g. reverting to a time of peace on Roshar with a few adjustments or dare I say, humans going back to Ashyn, where they came from. Or bringing Honor back? Could it be all of them? And also check out the Diagram keenly....I know I will! Sorry for the long comment, it's just that when the fanboy in me is ignited, it's hard to shut me up after that.

@@LostinDiscovery Lol I appreciate your confidence in me. I don't know if I could join the 17th Shard, but once I find a willing co-host, I'll probably start my own podcast :) Thanks for the encouragement!
I’ve been advocating that potentially kaladin is either a splinter of honor or a future bondsmith/shard For example kaladin displays odd powers that syl isn’t aware of unlike all his others, as well as odd supernatural moments like his pseudo-atium moment in the duel during words of radiance where he thinks he could keep dodging two shardbearers with his eyes closed. This makes a lot of sense when you look at 2 things vin, and kaladin spiritual feedback loop, this feedback loop is that kaladin is so talented with the spear because he would become a master and because time does not exist in the spiritual realm he always is good with the spear. Vin in hindsight clearly has the same thing going on in relation to some of her powers and he natural skill. So what if these other powers are from him becoming a shard in the future, this has been basically confirmed for me, because Ishar was just shown when fighting wind runners to display the same pseudo-atium ability. Also cultivation is the villain she is creating an army of perfect shard candidates everyone needs to be scared
I thought we were going to dive into what Kaladin saw when he almost died hanging up, and try to deduce something from there. But I'm still going to watch the whole video, and send it to every stormlight fan in my friend group.

Taravangian knows that the death rattles are the key to understanding the future. He probably realized this on the day of epic wisdom and that is why he set up the facility in Karbranth.
One of my new favorite RUclipsrs, keep up the great content buddy!
That's amazing to hear, thank you!
Well, after the "True Glory" argument you peaked my curiosity, and if everything in these books connect like this....Sanderson is beyond genius...he's Taravangian lol
With the way this channel is growing, 10k is not that far. Amazing video!
P.S. When will your dad make his comeback on the channel? We've missed him.
Thanks so much!! He’s chugging through Oathbringer and is struggling a bit. I’ll have him back on ASAP!
Hell yeah let's get into some wast... I mean INVESTING time into this amazing idea!!!
I was interested, but at the 7 min mark I was invested
hahah awesome video man got goosebumps at the end
I generally don't like any fan theories or any speculation videos about not just Stormlight but anything at all. Because I don't enjoy figuring things out as much as I enjoy getting surprised when it's finally revealed to me. So I appreciate what you are doing here, but I'll not be watching this series. Hope you understand. 🙂🙂
Congrats on the 8K btw.
Of course my friend, totally understand! See you around on the other videos, and thank you! :)
Another epic video mate! Looking forward to the rest :)
I've wanted to do a video on the death rattles for a while, but I don't know how to make it as interesting as you are doing haha
Maybe I should look at starting a Cosmere podcast or something. I'd love to just discuss Cosmere things with someone. Then I can get these topics I can't make videos for off my chest XD
Anyway, awesome video as usual! Always look forward to what you put out :)
You should absolutely do that! You'd fit right in with 17th Shard man!
@@LostinDiscovery Lol I appreciate your confidence in me. I don't know if I could join the 17th Shard, but once I find a willing co-host, I'll probably start my own podcast :) Thanks for the encouragement!
I’ve been advocating that potentially kaladin is either a splinter of honor or a future bondsmith/shard
For example kaladin displays odd powers that syl isn’t aware of unlike all his others, as well as odd supernatural moments like his pseudo-atium moment in the duel during words of radiance where he thinks he could keep dodging two shardbearers with his eyes closed.
Great video and love the channel, keep it up
Thanks so much!
Damn brother this was good stuff
Love these videos! Keep it up!
Chills chills
Yes we're on board ! Please continue. Just don't finish as mad as Taravangian ;)
I'll do my best 👀
Mind-blowing!
I still think something about the philosophy of The One will be important here. Maybe Ym's thoughts on the question in WOR before he gets Nale-ed
I thought we were going to dive into what Kaladin saw when he almost died hanging up, and try to deduce something from there. But I'm still going to watch the whole video, and send it to every stormlight fan in my friend group.
Congrats on 8k, keep going!
Thank you!
To the books!!!
Loved this video
I’m so here for this sleuthing 🕵️♂️
I am so hooked!
Should be great!
I saw your video title and knew you too wanted to seek out where the hell he hid the foreshadowing of ending in those two books
Gooooood idea for a video
Jesus Christ that was a good video. True glory pfffft nearly spat out my drink
Have you read/listened to the sample from the Sixth of Dusk sequel? There's so much to theorize based on it but it's super spoilery.
I have! Super exciting future for the Cosmere there.
I'm gonna regret watching this video but this is too interesting!
