  • Fallen Empire is well underway, and we have a David DeCoteau classic in tow! After a group of horny nerds crash a sorority pledge initiation, they are forced to steal a bowling trophy from a local mall with the aide of the two pledging sisters. They end up releasing a jive-talking, wish-granting imp with a nefarious agenda, bent on killing them one by one! Officially released under Charles Band's 'Urban Classics' label, this flick brings Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, Michelle Bauer, and Hal Havins together under one zany roof! ‪@MisterLobo‬ of 'Cinema Insomnia' joins us to answer the hard questions-Why does the imp sound like Screamin' Jay Hawkins? Were there no socks available for a simulated sex scene? Who's mall is this exactly and why don't they pay George Flower enough to buy a new hearing aid? Put your bowling shoes on, and make sure to choose your wishes carefully, because we are about to nail this 7-10 split with Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama!

Hearing Mr.Lobo's point of view is refreshing, also very wholesome. Yeah, some of these movies weren't masterpieces but they were little dreams put on tape for kids(and adults) to escape from our reality. Also i'm glad you guys talk about all the hard and/or tedious work that is behind even a low budget movie like this. Saying "this movie suuuucks" is easy and entertaining of course, saying "nevertheless, here how this effect was made and how much it costs .." etc etc takes effort and research and knowhow and is way more honest as an approach. Great job as always
(but i do enjoy it when you guys destroy a bad movie)

We’ve really tried to get away from the bashing. The point of the show was never to shit on movies because we hate them, we love them and want to celebrate them. We may not agree sometimes, but the goal has been to do exactly what you’re saying, which I think we have been accomplishing. -Joe

    First view!! Woop-woop!
I scooped this on blu-ray from Full Moon on Valentine's Day 2019. Do most Full Moon & Empire films have the same formula of small creature granting wishes?? This movie kind of reminded me of Evil Bong. The Full Moon Horror Road shows are how I discovered Charlie at such a young age; first time I ever saw boobs at the age of 10.. it was held at an old bowling alley which ironically eventually became a strip-club (Hare's Towne Bowl now Silk Exotic).
Thanks for keeping it TRILL Joe, Sean & Connor! Someone's gotta rummage through that dumpster!!

Maybe not most, but A LOT have small creatures/killers in them, including but not limited to granting wishes, which is probably why I love them so much, haha. That is an awesome way to experience Full Moon for the first time! Those roadshows were really cool. I actually hope they do one again. I wonder if they would setup in Silk Exotic 🤔 Thanks for listening and we appreciate your support! 💚📼 -Joe

@@MovieDumpster Hell yeah! His stories about Gary Busey were always entertaining. Thanks again and I am very much looking forward to the Under Wraps review! haha In return I'm going to raid your merch store - I really appreciate you guys hearing that request! Disney's supposed to release a remake October 1st, 2021.. I have little interest in it, but it'd be a rare time of relevance to review the original haha.. like a bullseye that appears every 25 years.

Saw this on USA up all night. My sister had a slumber party, and they kind of took over the television.
The Westfield mall in Seattle has Round one which is a bowling alley/arcade/kareoke bar. Not really in the mall, more like built up against it.

I think the major difference between this and Chopping Mall (besides the latter having a better cast) is that Chopping Mall keeps the pace up really well. It's got the Scooby Doo formula down really well: wacky chases with intermittent corner turning and jump scares. Sorority Babes just kinda craps the bed around the hour mark and the puppet is verrry underutilized.
But yes, well said at the end there, Mr. Lobo. I don't think it necessarily means we need to pin everyone's movie on our fridge and pat them on the head, but with movies like this you can at the very least feel a special energy behind it... something that's becoming increasingly rare, imo.

I checked this out over the weekend (thanks to seeing y'all covered this), yeah it was goofy. I had a strange script moment in a slasher film I was in, similar to Linea and Buck Flowers discussing the Imp. I the film I ask a kid if he and the other kid with him "know each other" (duh, yeah they're hangin out) he says "yeah were brothers" my character says "what do you mean?" (I think he pretty much covered it that they are siblings), he says "he's my brother" I say "oh". I questioned it and the director says nope it makes sense...no it didn't, lol. Anyway Andras Jones who played Calvin was in a movie called The Attic Expeditions (2001) with Seth Green & Jeffrey Combs and we met the writer/director and producer at Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in the late 90's. I barely remember what went on in that movie. As far the sequel goes I've noticed all of Full Moons new films on Tubi are under an hour or under. Awesome episode!
