And you're like alright I'm gonna rip this one. BOOM. And it's so iconic that 50+ years later people are on RUclips trying to get it note for note. But then.. you die a year and a month later in a motorcycle accident.
thx. It is a Nobels ODR1 into a Bad Cat Black Cat 30R into an Two Notes CaptorX (presumably i used some sort of Alnico-Impulse Response). There is a lot of reverb on this Sound (either Plate of Chamber) and i rember I added that to the already recorded sound in Plugin-Form in the DAW. Can't remember what else, i didn't take notes, hope that helps.
the guitar is in open E, since it's my dedicated slide guitar. But since the entire solo happens on the B and E strings, it doesn't matter if you play it in Standard or Open tuning, the B and E strings are tuned the same in both tunings. Not sure how Allman did it on the recording.

Layla was sped up slightly after recording therefore it's slightly sharp. (as far as I remember)
What tuning is that in
Open E. Since the whole Solo happens on the highest 2 strings though, you can play it perfectly fine in Standard tunimg also, doesn't really matter...
