Moon River. From being a little kid watching Andy Williams sing this to now an old man listening to an old Eric Clapton and our dearly departed Jeff Beck's version. It's been quite a ride. R.I.P. Jeff and Andy.
I loved " Breakfast at tiffanys" . My mom passed away a couple years ago. I'm 70 years old and I used to sit with her when I was little and loved this song. I wish she were here listening with it with me and scratching my back.
“Two drifters, off to see the world … “ From their early days in the Yardbirds, that’s exactly what they did - each, in their own way, defining and redefining electric guitar playing as they went. R.I.P. Jeff
That’s a funny comment not funny ha ha but funny peculiar, I always say if there’s a rock ‘n’ roll heaven, I know Jimi Hendrix is playing lead and I hope they let me in but I have a picture of heaven being everybody that wanted to be a talented musician/actor actress whatever is in your heart that’s what you get to do
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world 💕🥰 It's amazing how music can transport you back to certain moments in your life
It is amazing how quickly music transports us back to special times. I was born in 1953 so have experienced many. Just really wanted to wish you well and say thank you for your kind message. I sincerely wish you all the best wishes right back at you that all that read your message triples in the very best back to you.
My god, I’m a 46 year old father of two and am here listening and watching this video with tears rolling down my face. It just absolutely grips you. If it doesn’t, then you are not human… Truly beautiful…
This is so beautiful. I saw a live performance some months ago and it was the usual guitar battle. Good, but not as touching as hearing Eric just sing and Jeff play. ❤️
I’m right there with you! Two great one’s gone 💔☮️💔🙏 Clapton left to jam with Jeff and the other greats!😢 Can’t wait to get to the other side too hear the great’s once again. Yeah I’m 74 years now and still love my old vinyl. Vinyl is in my will. My children and grandchildren love my OLDIES! Thank you for the post ☮️✌️😀
Such a beautiful version and I love the way Eric lets Jeff take all the lead parts. A perfect good bye to the greatest guitarist I’ve ever seen. And I’m not the only one whose eyes welled up watching it. Thank you EC.
To each and every one who comes here and reads this, I ask God to guide your steps, that He fulfills the good desires of your heart, that you are happy and that you are an instrument of happiness for others. God bless you.
I'm going to the TRIBUTE SHOW at ROYAL ALBERT HALL on TUESDAY NIGHT! I'm a 64 year old Guitar Picker. I live in the US , my wife said, you gotta go to that show. She knows how much of an influence these two were on me as a musician! When I heard this version of Moon River, I couldn't hold back the tears! Beautiful version. I have my ticket, don't know if I'll be able to keep it together at the show! RIP Mr. Beck. Eric, keep playing and singing!
I had the pleasure and honor of playing and recording with Jeff Beck, it was one of the best moments of my life!! what I saw him doing was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life! Thank you Jeff Beck and thank you Eric Clapton for being one of my biggest inspirations!
Really? Yes, that must have been incredible. I've seen and heard JB many may times... You obviously are very talented to be in that company. Happy for you!
The opening solo is not only a hauntingly beautiful interpretation of the melody but also a gob-smackingly wonderful exposition of instrumental mastery and musical inventiveness. The precise bends, the subtle vibrato, the variation in attack, the variation in timing before and after the beat, the volume-control violining, variation in absolute volume, .... I hope you can see why Mr Beck was the Guitar God's Guitar God. RIP.
Absolutely amazing tone. It is a vocal tone. Greatest Strat player of my lifetime. So many faster players, but none as melodic. Never screws up a note. Always knows exactly where he is going. Clapton spoke about this after Beck passed and he said it was great. He was right.
Truly one of the best rendition. An honest version of two old friends who have crossed paths many times, but one thing has always sparked a friendship, playing the guitar to their very best.❤ R.I.P. Jeff Beck❤❤❤
Absolutely. The Yardbirds produced the three greatest rock guitarists ever. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. May Jeff Beck rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️
This was a truly wonderful thing that Eric Clapton did to show his respect and reverence for his musical colleague and friend… commissioning this animation and putting Jeff’s so recently recorded guitar at the forefront. I thank you with all my heart Eric for doing this. It breaks my heart still, in October 2023 and I think it always will. Showing it at the end of the Albert Hall concert was very fine too 🙏🙏
Here are two very talented musicians with very different styles playing together to create a beautiful masterpiece. If only this world could learn that we are stronger and better people if we cooperate and work together. Jeff Beck RIP. We will forever miss your talents.
This personifies Jeff's magic. There is some type of modulation on almost every note, whether it's left-hand vibrato or the bar, bending a note ever so slightly off pitch to add tension, or fluctuating volume of the notes. There will never be another Jeff. Realizing he is gone still puts a lump in my throat. Requiescat in pace, Mr. Beck. 🙏♥
Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics to Moon River. He attended Woodberry Forest High School in Virginia. He used the proceeds to reimburse people that lost money in his Father's Bank during the great depression
What a tribute from one guitar virtuoso to another. Rest in peace Jeff Beck and thanks for all the great music. To Eric Clapton, keep doing what you do.
Beautiful rendition of this song. Phenomenal playing by the late great Jeff Beck and world class vocals by Eric Clapton. Can't get much better than this. Thank you Eric for releasing this to the world.
Jeff Beck has always been one of my favorite musicians because he didn’t go commercial. When Rod Stewart went pop, Jeff stepped out. He chose projects, like Stevie Wonder, that were more in tune with his musical sensibilities rather than $$$. When he played with Eric Clapton, on this song, with the very tasteful and beautiful animation, I cried. Every night when I practice bass, I play this song to remind me of what’s important in life- the journey of our lives and whatever lies beyond as well as music and humanity and a life well lived. Thank you Jeff and Eric. Rock on and I’ll see you, round the bend.
This song was one of my Mum’s all-time favourite songs & the original version from ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ was played at her funeral when we lost her suddenly, just last October. This version has been released here on the day that would’ve been her 87th Birthday. So wished I could listen to it with her. A beautiful version of a classic song performed by two outstanding musicians from the most classic era of Rock music history. Jeff Beck’s passing has left such a void in the music world. Glad I saw him play at least once in this lifetime. God rest his soul (& my mother’s) x🌓🪐🎸x
I'm sure Eric is still devastated as I am.Jeff's playing is what you would expect.I was moved to tears. Eric thank you for bringing this to the world. The video is so perfect.I have such respect for you releasing your feelings for Jeff in it.
After Jeff Beck's passing it's bittersweet how the meaning has changed to the lyrics "Wherever you're going, I'm going your way". .. a reminder that we're all only passing through this place and these experiences.
Probably Jeff's last performance in the studio... it sounds like the last words of a wise and happy man who knows they're gonna cross that river. Chills in the heart. Clapton's voice shines beautifully here. I'm 26 and bailing my damn eyes out!!! R.I.P Jeff
It said on their social media accounts this was his last studio recording done shortly before his death. With some research turns out Jeff’s guitar parts were recorded June 2022. Which makes sense because from about there on until November 2022 he was on tour with Johnny depp and wouldn’t have been doing any studio work. and then his death January 2023.
This music video is a launchpad into the past, a clear recognition of music present, and I am certain will endure far into the future as a precious musical artifact by these two elder statesman of Rock music. The combination of Peter Max - psychedelic type graphics with the smooth Clapton vocals and including both immediately recognizable lead solos from Eric and Jeff make this epic and timeless. I couldn’t help but slip back into a reverie of the sixties all the while caught up in the epic musical and emotional experience of the moment…..Bravo EC, you’ve done it again

That was such a moving rendition of a classic song. What a timely collaboration Eric, with our dearly departed Jeff Beck. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
Stunning. Haunting. Moving. Most of all it is a lovely tribute to your friend Jeff. There are few friendships that span the ages of our life, and I have a notion he was one of those for you. Thank you for sharing.
I agree. I saw Eric Clapton once live. I saw Jeff Beck twice live, and met him. The Yardbirds produced my top three favorite guitarists. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Cheers! ✌️
I still can’t watch and hear this without crying. It’s very moving and the animation is perfection with Jeff’s gorgeous guitar music and Eric’s song. Thank you again Eric. And thank you to whoever created this animation. ❤

I wish they'd have cut more classics together
Let’s Beck play lead pluuuease,Clapton is always outshined by Beck
@Viet Dong As Clapton said they are two sides of a coin. Totally different players. Beck plays the vocal on guitar and Clapton plays the song.
That was noticed and appreciated here as well. Eric really has come a long way as a vocalist I must also mention.
Eric is playing the second part.
This is Beautiful...RIP Jeff Beck 🌹 🕊
This is a Beautiful Tribute to Jeff Beck.

RIP Jeff 💐 & thanks Eric for releasing this lovely cover🫂
Stunning. Haunting. Moving. Most of all it is a lovely tribute to your friend Jeff. There are few friendships that span the ages of our life, and I have a notion he was one of those for you. Thank you for sharing.
Smiles, hi there 🌺 😊
Lovely and the best rendition ever!! Thanks for sharing and RIP Jeff Beck🎸🎸🎸🎶♥️
I agree. I saw Eric Clapton once live. I saw Jeff Beck twice live, and met him. The Yardbirds produced my top three favorite guitarists. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Cheers! ✌️
Как вам повезло!❤
Wow. Magic. Wonderful. Thanks Mr. Clapton. And thanks, for all you're beautiful music, Mr. Jeff Beck, may you rest in peace. 🙏
I still can’t watch and hear this without crying. It’s very moving and the animation is perfection with Jeff’s gorgeous guitar music and Eric’s song. Thank you again Eric. And thank you to whoever created this animation. ❤
