Good to watch the whole way through honestly. Caught a couple little tips of what to do and what not to do. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
OMG! Thank you for doing this review. I was literally planning on getting one for my water dragons adult tank setup and I needed a good review, thank you so much! Great review!
Glad you enjoyed and I hope you get one :)
Thanks Mike. It's really helped me make up my mind on which system to go with and how to set it up. I think your work is done here!
No problem!
Wow, I would be lost with you! I’m setting up my first vivarium and trying to figure all this out… thank you! Amazing work!
Glad it helped out man!
this video just helped me set mine up and i’m a first time user! thank you!
Glad it helped! I do have a newer setup video on the channel where I setup the timer as well!
Thank you so much for this video! I grow orchids and a friend just gifted me a Mist King. I had no idea where to even start. This is so helpful. 🌿
Orchids are incredible and they will love the mister!
This has been extremely helpful!!! Way easier than i thought. I opened the box last night and I was like OMG i feel like I am building a bomb. I can't thank you enough for the step by step directions! Excited to hook it up tonight!
hahah that was my first thought when I opened the box as well! Hopefully the installation went well!
This is the best video I’ve seen to set it up thanks man it was so simple
Right on! Glad you enjoyed! I did make a new video showing how to program the timer and such if you are interested
I was on the fence about getting a mistking and this video steered me in the right direction. There is one on to my house right now! Ive also had a few monsoons and a few repti-foggers. The foggers both broke in under a month and the monsoon lasted 2 months of *light* misting, and flooded my tank out of no where when i had it on low misting settings.
Ya exactly!!
This is was perfection. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed!
Excellent excellent video! Finally one that’s informative and the person doing it doesn’t act stupid. Great job! Thanks for your help!
You look like the kinda woman who would ask to "see the manager" for literally the dumbest reason. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks Mike. This is super helpful. I have been a bit intimidated by whole misting system idea but this is definitely the way to go. I hope to get one of these set up for geckos and future chameleon!!
Definitely a must for chameleons :)
Gathering supplies for a Jackson. Appreciate all the tank set up tips on your videos.
Great video Mike. We just added it to our playlist!
Cheers! glad you enjoyed the video!
but, but... Mike said I could 🤣 thank you so much for taking your time to make this vid! I would have been lost without it
Thanks for watching haha
Definitely helped more than the instructions! Thanks so much for putting it together
Glad you enjoyed! I also have a video more recently about the product and setting up the timer.
@@MikeTytula I'll check it out, I haven't set up the timer yet and it's super complicated
@@brianwhitcraft2344 Ya it's super annoying! THe new version of the timer is much easier so you should have an easier time with it.
I think I'm finally going to get the mistking starter system. I'm having trouble keeping my screen top terrariums in a proper humidity range for the geckos. The desert air just sucks the moisture away so fast!
Mistkings are a lifesaver!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I opened my MistKing and stared at the manual blankly. I guess I just don't learn that way. I crossed my fingers that there would be someone kind enough to film a step by step so a noob like me could understand. And here you were! Thanks for the help, I was able to set mine up and get it running :)
Thanks for the kind words! I also made a new video setting up the timer and stuff!
Nice video ! haha favourite part "Mike said I could" :D
Lol
Congrats on 20k
This video made me sure I want to buy a Mistking.
I know electronic timers are a pain in the ass haha!
man I have had my monsoon mister for 9 months it does great!
That thing is awesome!
Great vid!!!
I chuckled at "nozzle docking".
It's a good sentence haha
good video Mike, and great pump mystiking
mistking hehe sorry
Nice video. I've got a Faunarium that I used for my baby leopard gecko but now I've got a bigger vivarium but I don't know what to do with the faunarium any ideas without spending a lot of money?
Great video man
thanks for watching
I second what you said on the monsoons, mine is about to die I think, it's been doing quite bad, anyway have fun with the mist King!
oh I will!
Dude you're hilarious, good vid, very clear
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for this vid!
No problem! Hopefully it helped out!
if your still taking questions, how do you add more nozels?
How did you reset your timer i have a mistking and cannot get it to work on auto mode. I have each time set for each day and when i turn it on auto it just turns on and wont stop misting so i just have it off and use manual override to mist
These systems are awesome!! congrats on getting you really got something good thats forsure. your right about the monsoon there no good i had before so many problems or mist when not supposed to lol anyway tho great video!!
Thanks for watching! Nice to see you around again! Been a while!
yes i know it has!! Been working night shifts so without unlimited internet at home i can't watch a lot of videos untill i drive to a friends place to watch but i am thinking of moving and finding place by next year with freedom lol well ill see how it goes.
MichaelsCreativeCreations Sounds good buddy!
"I couldn't find the god damn drill bit" Man I LOLed. lol Thanks for the video, great info! Do you use this system with your Fiji Iguana?
Not currently, but eventually he will have on integrated into his setup!
Great video. Thanks
Thanks!
Hi. I'm setting this up for a dart frog tank and you really cleared some things up for me. The guide made it sound like the whole misting system had to be above the terrarium. One question I do have though, is does it matter if the bucket or bin is food safe? I read that it has to be good safe since the water is going into the tanks
Ya I would say a food safe bin is probably a good idea!
Good info. I will definitely go with this system. Seems they could have left out the keychain and added another nozzle though.
WEll the keychain costs them a whole lot less than another nozzel haha
I love your vids
UHG. I came here for the sole purpose of learning to set up the timer, lol
Sorry man
Thx your videos help my crested gecko
so whats the bucket for in turoks cage just to raise his basking spot???
Cool! I want to get one of these soon!
Do it!
Mike Tytula But money :( lol I will if I can afford it!
By chance, does the mist king pump have a gallons per hour type rating on it? I'm curious if simply putting a powerhead in a large basin of water connected to a mist nozzle (1/2" PVC adapter for example) would accomplish the same thing.
No it just has PSI on it
were does the tube on the other end parallel to the reservoirs one.
My first monsoon lasted a year and a half. I've had my new one 8 months still works just fine
That’s pretty good for a monsoon haha
Thanks!
good vid again
I got this because my neighbor put it out to the curb. I found your video extremely helpful but was wondering if I can use this mist king as an air pump for my hydroponic system? In other words is their a danger in submerging the mist side nozzle in water to inject air, in order to oxygenate the water? I know this must sound somewhat convoluted but I did get this for free and thought I could adapt it to my needs. Many thanks!
Definitely not a good idea!
@@MikeTytula figured as much, thanks for your time in responding
Thanks for sharing, your videos are awesome, keep em coming please!, I jst got my mistking system home, Wooop! 😎Question, are u using just tab water or should i use ro water? Cheers
RO is best but I just use Tap water haha
+Mike Tytula Cheers mate, RO it is ;-)
What about distilled water?
Whats your favorite herp supply shop in the valley, Mike? I like Predator Reptile but Mesa is further than id like to travel if theres some other similar options.
AE herps and exotics, or Hold fast reptile
Hi Mike, a cutting mat or board and a straightedge (metal yardstick) would do wonders for cutting that plastic and keeping from slipping at the end and almost eviscerating yourself.
You are absolutely correct haha
Have you ever had problems with the nozzles that they don't work as they have to? I have 4 nozzles an 2 of them don't work.
Hope you can help me
Probably have something jammed in the nozzle. Like something got into the reservoir and through to the nozzle.
does it use a lot of electricity?
how does this work in the glass vivairum
I have a monsoon solo it is 8 months old now and is amazing
Hopefully it continues to work!
Mike Tytula yea IKR I think it is all by chance
Nice video Mike, what size diamond drill bit I need to drill holes on a glass top to install mistking nozzles?
I believe I say it in the video...
Mike Tytula Got it, thanks Mike
Hey Mike, I have a question for you. How do you keep your water in the reservoir warm?
I don't lol, you can use a fish tank heater though!
Nice video mike, I was thinking about a monsoon mister but I change my mind. Haha, what websites would you recommend for ordering Plants and reptiles, ect.
For plants -glass box tropical
For reptiles-go to a reptile show or get it from a local breeder
For supplies-the serpentarium
@@omarcarranza8973 no you dont know anything about reptile, underground reptiles has some of the worst reptiles in the world. They usually have mites
Would this be appropirate appropirate for a crested gecko to replace misting manually? I am gone three days in a row a week, and want to get a crested gecko, but I want to make sure he stays misted when I am not there.
This would be perfect!
Hey I don't know if this video is like super old but I had a question for you mike. I am purchasing a mistking this coming Friday and I have a glass terrarium (tall) I also am aware a screen cage is preferred but the glass is more suitable for where I live. Would the mistking be setup just fine in this glass terrarium? It does have holes for tubing to go in but will it fit? I don't wanna buy the best and most expensive mister and then not have it work for my terrarium. Please if you see this comment please help me or someone who sees this comment.
Thank you :)
Ya I use on my frogs as well, as long as there is a hole large enough for the nozzle to attach to you are good
They have new digital timer. Got mine a year ago and works great.
Wait the monsoon?
Naw on the mist king mine is one that stay on the plug in.
"i couldn't find the goddamn drill bit"...lmao! you need a milwaukee hole saw kit my friend.... :)
no kidding!
how often should I set the timer if i have two nozzles on a 36 by 18 by 18 dart frog vivarium
Depends on your local climate really!
When drilling plastics use a tapper bit. Perfect, no burr hole up to 2".
That sounds like the best way possible! Thanks for the suggestion!
Can you hook up the power adapter directly to the pump (bypassing the timer) if I wanted to use my own controller/timer? Or does it need to connect pump > timer > power?
I'm not sure, I've never tried it.
Just set mistking timer to always on and send the whole mistking power cord to your separate timer. Idk why youd need to do it but thats what i would do. Also you could just give up, always an option, ha jokin, for the boys
@@Tophadellic I've been running it directly connected to a herpstat 4 for the last 3 years after I asked this question. I just wanted more control using the hybrid mode on the herpstat 4 with the humidity probe. It has been working flawlessly!
I have a veiled chameloen and how do I tame him he's really not happy with me and he doesn't let me touch him nore hold him I hand feed him if that helps plz help thxx
Any advice for a leaky bulkhead connection to my reservoir? I'm at a loss. I just contacted Mistking on their website too, but I'm looking for any and all advice!!
You could lubricate the oring. Other than that I would need to see it, in order to give more advice
I have 2 crested geckos in separate 18x18x24 exo Terra's, would you reccomend this?
Yes! It saves so much time! And is super convenient
nice video. been using one of these for years now for chameleons.
They are great!
Don't know if you mentioned it in the video, but what kind of water do you use?
I just use Tap water, but RO water is recommended
You are talking about mistkings you had bought several years ago, do they still work and your just expanding your misting ability or what?
I actually never set that one up it's going to the frogs!
Where do you get all the water for it? Since you can't use water with minerals and stuff.
you can honestly but I have an RO in my house
Shouldn't the o-ring on the bulkhead be on the inside of the reservoir ??
Ya pretty sure I changed that after the fact haha
should I get that for my anole?
What kind of hideout can a adult blue toungue skink fit in.if mine has bedding that he can burrow into he will not come out to eat please help. He is a Indonesian.
He'll come out jus throw crickets in or food
hey, do you need to have this for a pacman frog? Also congrats on 25k!
Depends if you are there to mist, I think it's a good addition but not absolutely necessary
Is mist king better than monsoon? I like that monsoon isn’t a diy reservoir. But I don’t want things breaking all the time so if needed a little DIY is fine. Opinions?
The mistking is so far above the monsoon that I wouldn't ever recommend a monsoon to anyone...
Mike Tytula thanks 👍🏻 deffo going to go with mistking after much research
thank you. so much better than the guide they included. 👏👏👏👏👏
It is rough to setup! But glad this helped!
me thinx the tube cutter has a tube release collar pusher on the other end ?
It does!
Don't have one, but watched anyway for the sake of sense of achievement lol. My friend also agrees that monsoons are terrible.
yay i caught up lol
Hey mike! Will a mist system like the Exo terra monsoon that I have, keep my chameleon hydrated?
Ya
@@MikeTytula Mike has spoken!
@@bradleybellamy2416 haha what?
i am gonna be gone for 3 days and i was going to buy it just for that really but it is good to have also... i got a baby basilisk and a baby pacman frog.... i am leaving in alittle under a month for the trip... what should i do?
I would definitely buy one.
@@MikeTytula yea i talked to the guy at my local petco and they said i can buy it and bring it back so that is the plan man.... dude i didnt think you would get this message. i appreciate you replying.
Sorry to bother you my name is RICKO and I'm just wondering if you could show me a video as good as all of your other amazing videos of how to feed my two month old chameleon if you could help me it would be great as I come from Spain and there isn't much knowledge about reptiles in Spain . Thanks
I got my moonsoon King been having it for a year and it’s fine.. also its doesn’t need all that extra shit
well you are definitely in the minority I would say.
+Mike Tytula Whats the difference besides price between a panther and a veiled chameleon
A vieled can be as low as 50$ & the cheapest panther ive ever seen was 175
Depends where you live
+Mike Tytula Virginia??
a set of "Forstner drill bits" are priceless for round holes , superior to paddle bits and 22 bucks per set
ryobi at home depot
Fair tip! haha I appreciate it
Is the repti rain a cheap alternative? Have you used one?
The repti rains are trash... you are almost better off with a hand mister lol
The veiled Chameleon with the WHITE feet stole the show! Is he a translucent? Very nice!
Super trans
By a dark tub do you just mean a dark colored tub or can it be white but nit let any light through?
Most whites will transmit some light through it
Mike Tytula ok thank you
(Cuts wit scissors ✂️) " hmm I mean that did a pretty good job" 😂😂😭💀🤡🤡🤡 8:14
LOL
are these 4th gens?
Is it sad that ive watched all of your vids since 2014, but started 3 months ago!
It's awesome haha
does it have to be 5 gallons? I'm not sure if id have enough room for that in my small bedroom
Nope! It can be any size!
Mike Tytula thank you! (:
@@kamalidelrosario5890 no problem
Can you just use a Smart Home Smart Plug instead of the mist timer?
uhhh I suppose you probably could!
Hello I am looking toward getting bubble bee dart frogs I would like to know if a normal 10 gallon tank is okay for this bred
no I recommend an 18x18x24
+Mike Tytula thanks
Are any reptiles illegal in Canada, Ecept for endangered reptiles, also what tank do you recommend for a bearded dragon? :D
Theres a ton illegal depending where you are! 40-75 gal
+Mike Tytula i meant what kind, like Zilla, Exo Terra, Zoo Med? But thanks anyways!
if you use tap water with these will it damage them?
IT truly depends on the tap water, some people have extremely hard water and that will lead to mineral deposits on the ends of the nozzels.
I was thinking about the Mistking (even including the "Australia Tax" that companies bump on top), but it seems you cannot have actual rain, it's just mist. Shame for such a nice unit.
Is why it's not called WaterKing 😂
Ya there are ways to make something similar to rain but would be easier to mimic it with a standard water pump not something that is so expensive haha.
i drilled a whole in mine with a 5/8 but it still leaks! How do i fix it?
I drilled the tighter 9/16'' hole and mine is leaking...I'm looking into how I can fix this before I get fully set up. Did you ever figure this out?
Could that be used for cresties as in crested geckos??
BigLizardGaming yes
