even early 2000 models at that. I know because I know a good amount of people who own mk4s (as do I) that just sit in their driveways. I’m guilty as I blew my motor and have been slacking on saving for a new motor.
Love to see that the Mk2 is still alive in the hearts of some of us. I have a B6 Passat at the moment but plat on finding another MK2 or a Rally Golf witch is my dream car for as long as I can remember. I had a 16v GTI when I was 16 and I have been hooked ever since. Keep up the great work.
Steve, I know where you’re coming from, I have 13 Veedubs. It gets addictive. I have a Mk1 golf GTI, a Mk2 GTI 16v big bumper, 2 Mk1 Sciroccos including a Storm, a RallyeGolf in Tornado Red, 5 Scirocco Mk2s including 2 Storms, a wide body Rieger and Hornstein Cabrio, a Corrado VR6 Storm, 2 Mk1 Golf Cabrios - a GLi and Classicline and last but definitely not least a Mk4 R32. I also have the inevitable lock up full of spare parts as well.
Had to part with my '86 TD Golf when I was having my first kid.. Its been almost 5 years now.. And I still miss that car. 4 door, straight pipe, ran like a top and never left me stranded.. Ive had a couple VW's since. And Curretly have a '14 JSW and a '06 Jetta TDI. Currently looking to find a MK2 Project to drop an ALH 1.9l In.
That Rallye Golf deserves to be kept in a garage. My Mk2 Jetta GLI 16V is never going anywhere. I luv that car, it's awesome, and I have yet to find a car that is more fun to drive even though I have driven and own much faster cars. There is something special about the feel of a MK2.
Love everything you’ve got there, love the Schrick intake manifold (I just put a set of Schrick cams in my 1.8 stroker build). Currently have 3 Mk4 Golfs but I am looking to add a Mk2 or3 to the collection.
Awesome collection, and a knowledgeable owner. Also nice to hear that he has plans for every car he had around. When you have enough space around your own home so you can store all those cars then you are a lucky guy 😅. Here in the Netherlands i also have a lot of vw's but have to pay also lots of money for storage 🤪
Nice collection! I used to work for a golf breaker in Cambridgeshire uk called not escorts around 2013 in the 3 years we were running we stripped almost 2000 mk2 gti's all parts sold on ebay that's where alot went but back then they were worth much more money in boxes than as working car's
Makes me miss my Corrado G60 which I bought when I was 18 back in '07. Sounded similar, even with the stock SC. Unfortunately at the time I didn't really know what I had, and every time I get into my Mk6 GTI, now.. I think of what could've been. I couldn't afford the maintenance, and had to get rid of it. I've got a kid on the way, and I'm definitely going to be building a garage around a mk2 era shell (jetta, gti, corrado, scirocco) so that he or she can grow up around the trial and error I did as a kid!
I do the same when I order European parts, since my wife came from Poland and we have great communication and visit sometimes. The best prices, even better than in the u.s.a., anyway that is one of the best collections I've seen.
My first car was a 1985 VW Golf 4 door; not nearly as cool as any of these sweet rides. I always wanted a GTI! Thanks for bringing me back to my younger days..
I met Steve at the cars and coffee event that he referred to in the video. I took a lot of pictures of his car that day. And no I’m not the one who made the power steering reference. 😁 My young son at the time carried a mk2 Hot Wheels car with him everywhere and was completely taken with Steve’s car. If you talk to him again let him know that my son just bought his first car. Yep... a mk2 golf. Never know how turning up at one event can affect someone’s life. Btw - Steve if you do see this and by chance remember that event, I’m the guy who has one of the few collections that would match yours.
Great segment. Have owned MK 1 thru 7 GTIs over the years (Jeepers, that certainly dates me). Looking to snatch an 8 GTI sometime next year. The tech is getting out of hand but the reviews love it. Bang for buck is why I love the cars!
Awesome video! You are true die hard vw guy! I love love seeing all the great build around and the best thing on top of everything is: you truly race your car and enjoy them at the track! Something i really want to do is having a mk2 and race it as well. Very inspiring story and would love to meet you someday...Happy Holidays
MKIIs are the best! I owned a GLI for good two-time years, but couldn't find a Recaro seat replacement, mine was breaking my back, and sold it not knowing it was going to become the biggest regrets in my life :(
Thank you Deutsche Auto Parts , for this experience i kind a feel my self into this man , i love how he is working on em and putting time and money so he can keep taking care of em , i m a car passionate and i feel him so much
I've owned 3 mk1 golfs 2 sciroccos 3 mk2 GTI's 5 air cooled type 1. One Audi S4 b5 One Corrado 4 Passats b4 b5.5 b7 1 mk6 golf TDI and now my Arteon R line I hope I didn't forget anyone lol Oops 1 b5 Passat wagon and a mk3 GTI a mk4 GTI and a golf fronted Jetta TDI plus a 09 Jetta TDI
My friend, you want old vw parts, especially golf parts. You gotta check Kosovo, they still keep them running over there, you could find good deals and good parta
My daily is alh TDI mk4 beetle with vnt17 tuned with bigger injectors and custom intake 484800 miles currently.... still got my Corrado too and a few air cooled cars
So many fun cars, love all those old wheels that I wished I would have bought: schmidts, borbet type As, keskin kt1s. Will the 3.6 VR be going in any of those? :)
Can definitely feel you on the limited parts for mk1s and mk2s these days. My friend has been looking for a clean set of the MK2 Golf roof gutter trim for at least 5 years now with no luck. Hit me up if anyone out there has some they're looking to sell for good money.
I mean I have 6 VWs, 4 of them are MK2 Jettas and 2 are MK3 Golfs. One of the MK2s is going to get fixed eventually, and one of the MK3s is my daily. Need a truck though so the VWs are going to have to wait a bit lol.
I should show this to my wife... having 4 at home now doesn't seem excessive at all.
Same 😂
I only have three
Not many people who own this many old VW's actually have them all running. Very cool
Old VWs are pretty cheep to maintain, parts aren't expensive and maintenance is easy
I own 3 and only 1 runs lol. One is torn down MK2 GT, second one is a 1300 Beetle and the only runner is a MK2 Golf 1.6 CL.

Got love the hard core old school VW enthusiast that help keep these vehicles on the street. Thanks for sharing Steve 👍

Being from the uk hearing your accent is so wired because you’re in the middle of an American and English accent 😂😂

This guy has the most unique accent I’ve ever heard. Wild
I wish this guy was my neighbour!
I like your stuff. We don't have much access to rare VWs here in SA. I appreciate the fact that you do a lot of your mods and repairs on your own.
Finally someone in the states that takes your attention and says something meaningful:)
That's why you cant find parts for mk2.everyone who likes them has 20 of them.lol
It's always fun to see such passionate enthusiasts. Quite inspiring.

2:38 boxy flares... and relates it to the older BMW. I personally feel it's more relatable to the Audi Quattro Sport of that era.

Instant like for the VR6's alone, very nice.
You are honestly living my dream 💯

Always liked and still prefer the MK3 look. Ageless. The MK2 GTI however is VW Golf at its finest and most handsome.
The mk3 body is super timeless/ageless. I got 98 Jetta and everyday I fall in love with it
I love his little Mk.2! So cool he put a tDi in it!
Awesome collection, and a knowledgeable owner.

In my eyes this man is a HERO! I have a Passat B4 VR6 2.9 Syncro.
G60 limiteds are awesome all hand-built and up until the r32 the most powerful golf built by vw 210bhp. Was lucky to see a couple here in UK.

I’ve known about the golf limited over a decade, first time I heard someone mention it without me explaining what it is!
Amazing!!! Love the VW collection. You have my favorite VW ever made. That Mark II GOLF. I would love to purchase on of the mark II Golfs from you.
Seriously that track car hasn't been used in a decade😂
The man that gave me a New Belgium "Rayne-jah" in the Big Daddies lot in Helen GA
I don't know what this means.
The legend is a VW Golf MK4 with 1.4 16V engine...:))) Greetings from Poland.
Lol. Yeah R32 with 1.4 16v badge
My first car was a 1985 VW Golf 4 door; not nearly as cool as any of these sweet rides. I always wanted a GTI!
Thanks for bringing me back to my younger days..
I thought this was my girlfriends dad.. He has owned 17 VDubs mostly corrados sciroccos and mk GTI (I own my own mk3.5 Cabrio)
I have a MK1 GTI Convertible
Cool collection - looks like he's got space enough there for even more vws! 😀
I fell in love with VW because of the first mk1 I had but the 3 mk2 GTI's were some of my favorites

Holy moly, that's my good friend's old Rallye. Always wondered where that ended up.
This video makes my year. I have to share with my wife she often says my mk4 is the wife and she’s the second Lady. Keep them nice
Dude you gotta get this guy out to wookies with us!! We’d love to see some of his stuff out there.
When is Wookies?
It’s usually the first or second week in April. It’s an amazing get together with some very cool cars and especially the driving is phenomenal.

Anyone know where he got that VR t-shirt from? By far the coolest one I've seen so far

Very cool Rallye... sounds like a BBM lysholm super charger I almost did that to my Corrado but opted for the Vr6
Wow, the Golf 3 VR6 Cabrio is a dream!! I wish that i could swap my engine with a VR6...

Do like the TÜV süd sticker on the mk3 cabrio VR6 tho.
Where'd ya wreck the GTI? Waterford? (Grattan?) You have a Rallye, but do you have a Country? (My cousin had one from new)
Yeah they are nice, but do you have golf mk2 1.9 diesel TAS made in Sarajevo?
such a cool spot light, love it
Are you related to Jamie Orr?! Lol.. Beautiful collection you have..
i rarely get jealous of people, but man.
sick. So many rare Dubs.
What? No Scirocco's?
