Really enjoyed listening, you have a very pleasant demeanor and generous description of what you did and more importantly why you did it . Gorgeous body lines and killer patina , thank you very much for high quality content.
Love the taillight hidden gas cap and also love seeing more people building these narrow angle 6 bangers!! Love your drive, style and passion brother! Happy and safe racing!
Mmm I miss that sound! I had a VR6 Corrado! I’m glad they kept this cars power plant VW & they didn’t do the trendy LS swap that everyone else & their mothers are doing. 👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Sold my 63 Notchback a few years ago. Sort of regret it but it just sat in my garage collecting dust and garage rash. Cool thing though is i sold it back to the guys who i bought it from and i know they will get the car right and make it badass once again.
Super nice looking car. I’m a V-dub enthusiast as well. I’m old school and don’t know much about the new electronics systems but is awesome to see how beautiful and fast that car is. Keep up the good videos coming. I like the detailed information given. That is a plus in my book. Good job!
WOW! Great job! Love the detail and innovations, a true "Hot Rod'r" In 1969 . on my way to Korea we decided to buy my wife a new bug, this is at FT Monmouth Eatontown NJ. We went to The V'dub dealer, they had a 70 model Type II in that orange on the showroom floor, being from Texas, "Hook'm Horns I had to have it! Paid $2200, Bugs were $1600, for a Volkswagen, people though I was crazy...LMAO!
Years ago in Eastern Europe my wife and i rented a VR6 golf from a really shifty hire place. We then proceeded to Drive across eastern Europe having a great old time ,especially when we got into a race with an Early Audi Quatro ,at 200KMH were playing cat and mouse for a couple of hours until the no limit stretch .ended. Even in Stock form they are a great engine.
I am an old guy and love 1930’s thru 1970’s with V8 power. I have seen what people do with 4 and 6 cylinders now days and even like. I have always been a fan of the people’s car(VW). This is one heck of a car, that fast back is different but I like it.👍🇺🇸🤙😃✌️
Talk about a unique project. Wow. Who doesn't love a built VR?!?!? The r&d you did with the head gasket/ block, o-rings and sump is very, very cool. I'd be interested to see a build thread with some more of the details if you've got one. Cool looking "wife's car." Thing will probably embarrass a lot of what people are bringing out. Great video! Like I said, if you have a build thread on the fastback or the VR in general, I would really be interested in checking it out. Take care and keep it real bro! 😎👍💪
Just watched the whole video, and seen the R32 at the end. Realized I met you years back at H2o at the Forced Induction meet. You basically took me on a tour of the R32, also explaining how it is your wife's car. I still have a few pictures saved of you and your wife's R32. Either way, nice dragster (in the video).
Pretty sweet! But...lol Theres no such thing as a '63 fastback... The notch & square were out in '63! But the fastback body style wasn't introduced till '65.. And not till '66 in the states..
Good and fine explanation. You take the time to explain, the how and the who. I appreciate very much.Keep on the good work and all the best of the best with your car. Love it.
Dude you are bright and I love the way you explain everything as we approach the line I love the car what a perfect way of describing and explaining everything you do I hope you do well I hope the car does well and your wife must love you a lot right on.....😀
I've seen a squareback done similar to this many years back I do not know what happened to that thing I don't even see it anymore it used to be in hot VDubs magazine as a display picture for a business
I hesitated to even start watching a 17-minute video about a drag car. My attention span isn't that long for something like this but I wound up watching the whole thing from start to finish.
10:27 "USING JUNKYARD MOTORS". Yeah, look at that cast aluminum piston. He and his five brothers are providing 1,000 HP to this beast. Hahaha! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.
So good. Learned more from your video and build then I have in years. Many things and answers.. I'm interested in o ring and block fill. Currently build a 3.0 Schimmel Mk1 Rabbit drag car. Looking forward to more
Hi, I love what you did to the fastback!!! As a small boy we had a Red 1970 VW FastBack that was left by my grandfather. I used to take the car out when I was younger to drive it around and remember one winter with snow on the ground I ended up sliding against the tail end of a trailer and hitting the passenger side, which left a pretty long line on the passenger side. I’m curious is your Fastback when you got it was Red and a 1970 with a white interior? If so please let me message me back. What you did I dreamt about as a young man and wanted to always drop a VR6 and boost it!!! Love what you did!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!
I am a vw lover keep showing the world how awesome Vw are to have fun with I love the work you are doing with your car I wish you all the success with your project hope one day I can have you build a car for me blessings peace and love
Paul can you make a full review or owner spotlight on Humble Mechanic's Golf R and Mk3 GTI, i'm crazy about VW , DAP and Humble Mechanic the best VW DIY channels !
Is the cast manifold a flow or power restriction? I have always gone back and forth on that idea. Just curious what you have experienced or learned using the pipe off to the turbo. Super awesome build.
What a nice guy!!! So detailed too! Loved the video! Love to see VW representing on the drag strip!
Keep it up man!

Sick little VW Fastback. Sounds great and one of the coolest VR6 swops in an older VW chassis I've ever seen. Love the paint job too.

Ramon A. Pagan Kercado its still impressive..
Really enjoyed listening, you have a very pleasant demeanor and generous description of what you did and more importantly why you did it . Gorgeous body lines and killer patina , thank you very much for high quality content.

Brad has a lot of talent and is very creative. I'm impressed👍
Those are some badass VWs you have there. I didn't know that these 1963 VWs were raced like that before. Very nice! I can't wait to see more.
Bro you are a genius, your set up just blew my mind, please teach me.
Sooo does this make him the fastest Wookie in the Woods? That is an insane build but very awesome and beautiful.

Love the car and it's great to hear that you're on the forefront of the learning curve. VW engines are tough to get just right.

The roof chop looks really cool
The first track looks to be Mason-Dixon in Hagerstown Md.. saw it a few times during video. Cool deal, sweet car..
Very slick I like the concept that you went outside the norm to build a sleeping beast
That's the baddest VW I have ever seen. You Sir, are a legend.
Amazing..............remarkable work combined with a huge dose of humility what a great video. Thank you!
interesting video. I'm not into drag racing, but really liked hearing the stuff he has to go thru and obstacles to overcome
The Last car with the tail lights hiding the fuel cover that's big excellent work

Very intelligent build.
Even aerodynamic body choice.

Hey guys I totally loved this video and build... thanks for the vid!
Nice work! My dad had a 411 way back. It would be cool to put a 911 engine in one of those.
He who bleeds blue knows what to do, AWESOME job sir, VW 4 LIFE! 👻👽
Reminds me of the 51 Henry J
I'm showing my age here...
I love me a Henry J gasser ❤️

Hi, I love what you did to the fastback!!! As a small boy we had a Red 1970 VW FastBack that was left by my grandfather.
