Its amazing how some people only know Paula Abdul from her days on American Idol. She was a Laker girl, she choreographed for many artist including Janet Jackson, and when she put out her debut album Forever Your Girl, it sold millions in 1988, and she won numerous awards in the coming years for that. She is still incredible and is still out there touring, so if you guys get a chance, go catch her! Thanks for such a fun reaction!
I saw her Spellbound tour when I was in junior high! It was over 30 years ago and barely remember the specifics of it, but I do know my friend and I had a great time
Well if a person is really young unless they look for older artists or someone exposes it to them they won't know the person"s older work. Also if there are people that don't listen to certain genres of music so they have no clue who certain people are.
Notice a tiny little Elijah Wood, about 7, a little Frodo Baggins, in the video. His first project! The little “businessman” who breaks the pencil. LOL!
Her first passion in her life was dancing. She found her voice in her mid to late teens. She is a powehouse and people don't even realize it. I love watching younger generations react to my era 9f music as a teen. I am 54. My daughters are 30 & 33. They grew up on this type of music because of me.
Paula is an Icon.. a true triple threat.. meaning she can sing, dance , and act. The epitome of entertainer, she is the real deal, no auto tune, no special effects, just a powerhouse talent who makes it look easy , all the time wearing a smile❤
Man, I remember when Paula opened up the MTV VMAs the year this song hit. She performed this song, and you two would have totally appreciated her tap routine she threw into her performance.
Paula Abdul is amazing. She has suffered from painful Osteoarthritis for many years. She loves performing and dancing so much that she has been able to overcome the pain, put on a smile, and keep dancing. She is a treasure.
Love yall's appreciation for tap dance so much! I'm obsessed with the way Paula would so seamlessly and gorgeously incorporate tap into so many of her music videos. And she always looks like she's having a blast whenever she's dancing, but her technique is just so on point you don't even realise how hard what she's doing is until you try it yourself

I know exactly how many #1 hits she had from, ‘Forever Your Girl.’ I use to follow her career. I played that cassette tape until it fell apart! 😄 The disappointment was that, Abdul didn’t blow up until, she released, “Straight Up.” It looked like the budget for that video was less than the budget for, the two previous videos, ‘Knocked Out’ and ‘The Way That You Love Me.’ But, the third time, third single, was the charm. 💯👍🏿🙂
Yes, they should definitely react to Toni Basil if they haven't already. I believe Paula and many others were inspired by her.

Going to see New Kids and Paula this summer. I have seen New Kids several times over the past few years, It's such a fun show. But the second I heard Paula was coming I was sooooo excited. OMG I love this song!! This is my favorite Paula Abdul song. When I first started dating this girl from 1989 to 1992, this was really popular. When this came on the car stereo, she yelled to me, “Stop the car. Pull over.” So I did as I was told. My girlfriend then jumped out of the car, ran in front of my car and started dancing seductively to this song. That was AWESOME! I’ll never forget that moment. 😃😱
Paula Abdul and Debbie Allen are two incredibly talented women in the dance community. Both dancers turned choreographers as well as both judges on talent shows. Paula Abdul on American Idol and both guest judged on So You Think You Can Dance. I remember Paula from her days as a Laker Girl, Laker fan here so I remember her on the cheerleading squad. I remember Debbie Allen from Fame, A Different World and Grey's Anatomy. They helped inner city kids find a way off the streets and onto a stage or music video or even a talent show. I remember just dancing to Paula's music and watching Fame with Debbie Allen. Even though Debbie Allen is not a singer, it could be cool for your daughter to watch her dancing videos too. Fun Fact: Debbie Allen is Phylicia Rashad's sister and even appeared on an episode of The Cosby Show with her.

So many tributes to iconic videos and stars. The Robert Palmer "Simply Irresistible" video done with little girls instead of adult models, there was a "baby" James Dean (kid on a motorcycle with a white t-shirt and a leather jacket,) etc.

I have nothing profound to say other than this is my FAVORITE Paula song and Paula music video and has been since the day it was released. I LOVE it so much. I am seeing her open for NKOTB this summer and I cannot wait. She's the best.
For a couple summers she was the dance pop queen with her album release - so sexy and every song off her album was a banger - heavy radio / MTV rotation for like 2 -3 summers straight
Paula made some great pop tunes. She had such a style, look and sweetness that just made you like her. This song was another hit for her off of the FOREVER YOUR GIRL album, which seemed to never stop! It was everywhere during this time.

Paula is a singer, dancer, actress and choreographer who was a Laker’s cheerleader at 18 and became their head choreographer where she was discovered by The Jacksons. She was Janet Jackson’s choreographer. What a talent!
This is my favorite song & music video by Paula Abdul. It showcases everything that makes her so amazing. Felt she was completely underrated and under appreciated in her career. Love this queen and that smile at 3:14 ❤️🔥. Beautiful 😍
This and Knocked Out are my two favorite Paula Abdul songs. So sweet and girlfriend type. She has had an amazing career of diverse talents. I first saw her in a honestly terrible movie of junior high school kids, of which I was one at the time as well. I had to go and look it up and it was called Junior High School. Paula was a Laker girl, dancer choreographer in dance videos ( Janet Jackson videos) to singer and Idol judge to list the most prominent accomplishments. Love her!!!

One of the sounds of the 80s that was so uplifting to start the day ❤
Love it. Paula’s songs had such great hooks. Love Female Fridays!
Gotta ask for “Automatic” - Pointer Sisters. Ruth and co are amazing!
Long live Paula Abdul! This is one of my favourite Paula music videos. She is always on point. 👌🏽
Paula made some great pop tunes. She had such a style, look and sweetness that just made you like her. This song was another hit for her off of the FOREVER YOUR GIRL album, which seemed to never stop! It was everywhere during this time.
It's one of my favorite songs from Paula.Rush Rush is another great song as well so is The Way You Love Me.
My first musical crush from back in the day...
On my walls were Rock posters...
And 1 lonely, out of place, Paula Abdul poster...
Adored her!
Paul's is the Choreographer. I love everything Paula, she is true and real. She's a great inspiration. I'm happy you're little dancer is the next generationTap dancing was something no one scored any more and I am glad she was one who kept it going. SHE IS WONDER WOMAN🩵 SHE HAD CLASS
Paula meant to much to me as a kid. Her dance skills, her sweet voice. She was just everything back then.
All right my babies.... Paula Abdul is most certainly one powerhouse of a entertainer ‼️💯🔥💃🏼😊👍🏼
Paula, got me through my early years as a soldier, at the age of 18 and plus.
Thank you Paula, always 🫵👊🏼
And thamk you two, for showcasing the elders of our past.
🫵👊🏼👍🏻❤️
Knocked Out is a Paula Abdul song you add to your list. It was her very first hit.
Paula was a choreographer in her younger days. She had some good dancing songs, such as this one.👍💃🕺🏾💃🕺🏾💃🕺🏾♥️♥️
Beautiful 😍
Paula is Forever my Girl
This and Knocked Out are my two favorite Paula Abdul songs. So sweet and girlfriend type. She has had an amazing career of diverse talents. I first saw her in a honestly terrible movie of junior high school kids, of which I was one at the time as well. I had to go and look it up and it was called Junior High School. Paula was a Laker girl, dancer choreographer in dance videos ( Janet Jackson videos) to singer and Idol judge to list the most prominent accomplishments. Love her!!!
Check the credits of any movie with choreography after 1990. Paula Abdul is probably the mastermind behind it.
I love to watch Paula dancing she is fantastic ❤
love this song so much.
i still have the cassette for her first album.
bought it back in the late eighties.
Where is Jody Whatley? It was Janet, Paula and Jody Whatley who ruled the music charts in the late 80's
Another Interesting thing about this Paula Abdul video is a very young Elijah Wood appearing in it.
The little boy dressed as a businessman at the desk is Elijah Wood.
Paula will be opening for New Kids on the Block on their Magic Summer Tour this year! (Along with DJ Jazzy Jeff.)
Such a fun time in my life-senior in college, and everything was light and still possible. The 80s were the BEST.
She was a major inspiration for me as a choreographer! ❤
If its tapping you want, you should definitely see Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly.
Lord of the Dance?
80s dance pop classic
Paula Abdul was a choreographer for Janet Jackson
i got to see Paula in concert and she is so awesome its like watching her perform when she first debuted and she is still dancing her ass off! people forget that she was a LA Lakers cheerleader and Janet Jackson's first choreographer
Thanks Amber. You picked a great tune from a great artist right here. Good job
Feeling old guys I’m 42 this year but love Paula Abdul❤and love Toni 😂 memories??? Yes of course❤Thank you for covering this😅
(It's just)The Way That You Love Me is a great listen from Ms Paula. Thanks for reacting to her! ❤
Fun , yup fun 80s music, so many good songs, great music, great times for me personally.
If I’m not mistaken, all the kids scenes were parts of movies and or videos…. Robert Palmer video with the ladies with the guitars & pulled back hair with the red lipstick, Street car named Desire scene, etc.
I love to watch Paula dance she is fabulous
I love love love this song 🎵 ❤ it just takes me back to my childhood
