I just picked up a new 3500 DRW HO and immediately switched to the Platinum. Also, you spun that box on your hood and gave me chills thinking about the scratches.
I’ve been using platinum for 4 months now versus just blu def regular on my newer liebherr crane . At least once a week I had to remove def injector and steam clean . Immediately after using platinum it has improved 100 % it’s been 4 months since we started and haven’t had to clean the injector. I’m a true believer
I used to think this stuff was just bs and was purely made to rip people off. However upon further research it would appear this stuff is legit! I’m going to give it a try!
I've been using this DEF for over a year. After this video, I am going to my driveway to pull off my injector because 2 days ago I received the dreaded message to service my DEF system.
Huge believer in this stuff! Added some to my 3.0 duramax last week. Was idling out front of my house waiting on wife and kids to come out. In that 5 min time I was shocked, I literally watch my soot level go from 93 to 66. It must of cleaned a blockage on def injector, I’ll be 100% using this stuff from now on
Keep an eye on the filler cap to your DEF tank. When it gets old the o-ring shrinks and allows dust, dirt and water straight into the tank killing your $1500 pump
My truck didn’t like this stuff but I think it was expired. Was the last dusty one sitting on a Walmart shelf. Might give it another shot after watching your video
Great tutorial! Great camera angles. Dealer would charge you up the wazoo to replace that. I've used nothing but platinum since the day I brought my 2023 home. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Thanks again for the video.
I have a 2018 Dodge Ram and I've been running the blue def platinum since 140,xxx miles 2 years ago and I'm currently at 185,xxx miles and never got a re-gen light after that.i fell in love with the product and don't use anything else.i highly recommend it I've had great results and i get more miles out of the blue def platinum vs regular def
One tip I would recommend is use a good penetrating oil like nock er loose before hand on the bolts and let soak because if you break these bolts you have to replace whole unit which is thousands
Yeah I’ve always heard not to buy from truck stops because the batches delivered are not consistent and pure but who knows for sure. We do fill out fire trucks at work up at the local gas station from their bulk def tank and all three of the fire engine have had def problems so there’s that.
Thank you for sharing this. It is good to finally see some proof that this stuff works. If it is going to keep that DEF system clean and working it is worth the money. Might be worth the investment to buy some stainless bolts since those look like they were rusting. Hoping I don't have to become DR DEF SYSTEM if this thing will function like it is supposed to.
Great Video thx, Question: Is there a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) that you get when the injector on the SCR is crystallized or cloggs up? If so, what is it? Thanks
@@4MRanch Note: Most DEF Systems usually work above 70psi C/T the Redundant Pressure Sensor. The pressure sensor between the DOC and SCR is looking for an avg. of 3 PSI or more to see if the DPF is loaded, or to run a regeneration. However, in a Ram Cummins you cannot run a regeneration at will. It needs a code 1451 set to run an active regen with a scan tool.
This injector code popped up for me while pulling my 5th wheel thru the north side of Atlanta on the 4th of July weekend...don't know who I pissed of for that! It's the "P202E - Reductant Injector Valve Current Range/Performance Bank 1 Unit 1" code. My 2017 3500 gave me 100 miles till derate. I used my code scanner to reset it twice and it gave me another 50 miles each time to get home. Check your Omns for a range of 13 to 16 as that's what the sensor checks...
The main thing is once you see service your def system... DO NOT IMGNORE OR RESET THIS MESSAGE. Stop immediately call the auto parts store and get the part as soon as possible. Do not drive any more than you absolutely need to to get the piece fixed. If you keep driving with this it is no longer pumping so it is backing up the system and messing up your pump which is going to burn out your pump and cause way more money in damage. I will tell you that I use truck stop def and have only had the problem once. Platinum death is for suckers.
Can anyone explain why Def not entering the exhaust has to shut you down? The idea that you get shut down to 5 mph at some point is dangerous and illogical. Is there a threat to damaging the engine because of exhaust or is this just more emmissions nonsense?

I threw up in my mouth a little when he spun that box.

@@TKLETSGOHIKING I had to replace the DEF pump.
They say it for the environment! But they sell it in a cardboard box in a plastic container, delete your truck it’s the best thing you’ll ever do!
I run commercial plates and IFTA stickers. Sometimes I go to Canada. I can't delete even though I'd love too.

Yeah it’s way better. It’s just irritating that why can’t it be the standard for all def fluid as expensive as parts are.
All def is API certified so it comes down to brand name and how long it’s been on the shelf it does have a expiration date
Keep an eye on the filler cap to your DEF tank. When it gets old the o-ring shrinks and allows dust, dirt and water straight into the tank killing your $1500 pump
Good to know I’ll get it replaced
I’ve ran cheap def in mine forever it’s still fine.
That’s good your saving money
Me too. I had a friend recommend pump def because they are constantly replacing it. Boxes can sit in stores for a long time.
Just check that dates on the boxes
I have got bad def from pump and got the service def code on the way home. I drained the def tank, put new Walmart box def in it. The code went away.
My truck didn’t like this stuff but I think it was expired. Was the last dusty one sitting on a Walmart shelf. Might give it another shot after watching your video
Might have been. I’ve had great luck with it. I use it in my truck bobcat and tractor with no issues
Great video....Appreciate the detailed steps on removing the connectors and evidence of how clean the injector is with the platinum fluid
Thanks for watching. It cost a bit more but it has made a difference.

I buy my def at the big truck stops since they get a new supply every week.
I did that n then the problems started with mine. Coincidence I’m not sure 🤔

I didnt catch the mileage on the Peak def ?
Where can I get the white injector connector release? Mine is broken and they tell me I have to buy the whole hose.
I couldn’t ever find one. Had to buy a new one
When my husband took his out the thing that you pinch broke off. It doesn’t look like yours though.
Mine did the first time. I ended up buy a new line
Would you disconnect the negative battery post to clear the code or obd clear it?
Obd clear

i had to buy a gal of the cheap stuff now my def service light came on and i have no money to fix

I’ll have to look up the code but I believe there is one an it will say def fluid pressure low or some like that
