- The man who made New Jack synonymous with danger, trouble, and controversy is the subject of a new series. To get to the bottom of what drove the character we came to know, we have to climb inside. The memories of a school teacher were not erased by the years in prison.

The connection Sean was able to establish with Jack is so special to witness in real time. Never was Jack so candid and genuine as when Sean was interviewing him. Thank you for showing us the human behind New Jack
sean is really good at connecting with the person being interviewed and making them comfortable
Sean could go big time, and make a huge difference. I believe this
I thought it was less a connection being made and more the drugs kicking in.
@L_Train LMAO well you never know with Jack. That's part of the charm for sure
Paid in money and gimmicks that's why he's happy lmao
When Jack was sober and lucid he was so sharp and smart. Best interview he ever did, miss this dude
I miss Jerome... I knew him in the last couple years of his life. He calmed down a lot after he quit drinking. He had a lot of pain and trauma in his life. If you sat and talked with him that was plain to see.
Rest in Peace New Jack
Did he have the beginnings of Parkinsons disease at the end of his life? If you did know him.
@@L_Train it's hard to say... He did have signs of some sort of early dementia but idk if it was Parkinson's specifically. I only went to kick it with him 3 maybe 4 times a month whenever he was feeling ok enough.
Like most wrestlers he was pretty beat the fuck up physically. He also dealt with the effects of the brain damage from Vic Grimes fat ass falling on his head. His headaches were literally 247 but sometimes he'd tell me to get the fuck out of his house because his head literally felt like it was splitting down the middle. He also couldn't see anything out of his left eye I think it was(might be wrong on that). I really did feel bad for J... But if I showed any sort of sympathy or compassion towards him he would get pissed and threaten to kill me while we argued about it. I knew he wouldn't do anything to me but the shit would get heated sometimes because he is a stubborn prick. I love him though, good dude really.
Rest in Peace Jerome
@@PhilMiCoochieDamn that's sad. I remember marking out a little bit because he commented on a couple of my fb posts lol.
@@PhilMiCoochie You know you go to hell for lying the same as stealing. Whoever tf you are we didn't let people in our house. He had other health issues, but headaches stopped years ago.
@@PhilMiCoochie You know you go to hell for lying the same as stealing, right? You were NEVER in our house with our kids! NEVER! And you're on here answering medical questions for him??? Crazy asl. Get your life together, fkn junkie. Don't lie about my family!
Sean is such a great interviewer. I hope some day he gets the recognition he deserves.
I prefer his interviews instead of RF Shoots
100% Shawn rules yo! His pod with Nash is great !!! Love it
I hope someday Steve will learn how to edit these videos correctly so that they don't randomly cut off halfway through. The video itself is already done, literally all he has to do is hit the upload button and it still gets fucked up
no he wasn’t, when he says very good let’s continue, it sounds like he doesn’t care
New Jack dying caught me off guard. I wish he was still alive to hear his stories.
Glad you are posting these. Too many jerkoffs have stolen your content the last decade. Clean/sober new jack was an incredibly different guy, and he could have been a hilarious entertainer in any field. Thanks for this!
I had a close online friendship with Jack before his passing I miss him a lot
@@DruTubeytthat’s cool bro I spoke to him once on instagram I was hyped when he replied 😅😂
Guys like him and Cornette made the "shoot" interview business IMO. Their early shoot interviews were huge on youtube back in the day, honky tonk man also had some great ones early on. its the reason i started to listen to that type of content. These days i don't even follow current wrestling shows, but im still fascinated with the lore of the wrestling business, now that everything is out in the open we get to hear all of these old stories.
RIP New Jack
Still lookin for Izzy with Ahmed Johnson😂
This is the most emotional interview I've ever seen. Wow. Jerry 😢
New Jack is one of the best shoot interviews ever, when they had him, sheik and honky in the same shoot, that was the best of the best right there.
Hell yeah
Say what you want about him, but mad respect to New Jack for calling out Chris Benoit’s actions for what they were
One of the best interviews ever because it was so genuine. New jack was a disturbed violent individual but we understand him more because of the topics of discussion. Great job sean 👏
Man Sean, that opening with New Jack and the Stevie Wonder gimmick had me cracking up. You and Jerome seemed to have had quite a good connection. Always a joy to watch and of your stuff and New Jack's as well
This is one of my favorite interviews ever. For New Jack to let loose and just be himself. Sean just knows how to bring the best out of Jerome. I would've loved to meet New Jack. R.I.P.
One of the top 10 promos IMO in the history of the business. Man Jack had charisma and great promo ability. . His Smokey Mountain stuff was just brilliant
I forgot how good this one was! R.I.P Jack
Jack was one of the coldest dude ever and I still miss him now Rest In Power
@CGivision "Coldest"? Or did you mean coolest?
@@ppiorkowski1502 definitely coldest
3:51 Sean's has that "I remember them good ol days, brotha" face 😂😂😂😂. Sean's is the best
53:40...."I've never gotten color before, will you do it? New Jack: GLADLY!!!! lol
rip this is the most sober he ever was in an interview. seemed like he really made a difference. god bless em.
A textbook psychopath, but a charming one
A common trait with psychopath. Along with intelligence.
I wasn’t even going to watch the whole thing tonight but i did. amazing interview! i’m rewatching soon
I never knew you Jack but I just wanna tell you I love you dawg thank you for everything
I miss Jerome , Used to be very active in Social Media especially Facebook and He was Hilarious RIP
Been waiting for this one 🔥
New Jack is a great interview and story teller. He might not have been the most technical in ring worker but he could 'work' and he was over no matter which company he was in he was over
I used to watch new Jack as a kid on channel 35 in Philly on ECW.
He was my favorite
I swear I saw him on a train one day while I was coming home from school
I was too afraid to say hi
I first caught ECW on ch.35 before the switch to ch.48. Memories
New Jack was arguably KC's greatest guest. Seemed like a very cool guy.
Thank you so much Sean
Met New Jack years ago in Battle Creek Michigan got me in wrestling for free Nice Guy Greatly missed RIP
Either New Jack is a sociopath or a very good actor. Honestly dude scares me
He’s a little bit of both.
Wow this interview is so calm and collective compared to years later and how he ended up. He was very likable and not scary in this one.... Great interview.
The all time Ring of the Hawk G.O.A.T.
Shove.it.mannnnnnng
Shove that name in the comments Jack!!!
Great stuff
„Jack I can’t feel my legs“
"bombs away!"
I was about to say the same shit bombs away 😭 that’s too damn funny
"YOU WON'T NEED THEM WHERE YOU'RE GOING"
Wow. Hands down the best New J… Jerome Young interview. RiP to the Legend.
New jack is a really good person deep down just don't piss him off.
Jack was such a great interview. Even if you'v already heard the stories, it never gets old. RIP OG.
Big facts!
Though I don't agree with a lot of his actions, I can see why he turned out the way he did. He had been through a lot of trauma, physical and mental. Hopefully he can rest now.
I didn't know about New Jack until his Dark Side episode. It's so great that this exists. Thanks Sean.
I would've loved to meet New Jack. His interviews are always real. Sean has always had a great way to have a conversation. New Jacks impersonation of Stevie Wonder hilarious.
I wish I had seen this interview before the Dark Side of the Ring episode. I never felt like we got to see the real Jerome Young in that episode, but this interview comes much closer. I have seen other good interviews with New Jack, but they feel much more "in character" than this interview. He basically admits at 27:23 that we will never know for sure whether we are seeing Jerome Young or New Jack.
Is this the full interview? It seems to have ended abruptly.
You can say a lot of things about New Jack but one thing you can never say was that he was fake. R.I.P
I hope Mrs. McKenzie sees this
These interviews are gold..
1:12:03 when talking about comedy influences I knew New Jack would say Richard Pryor not because they’re both black but they have similar personalities as they both did coke and crack as Richard Pryor would tell jokes about his alcohol and crack addiction, also I knew when he said he’s a storyteller and Richard Pryor was a storyteller too
Yes, then less than 3 minutes after your timestamp the video abruptly cuts off because Steve can't be bothered to make a few simple edits
Pryor wasn't the only one.
Jerome is a real one for telling the truth about gangs, I feel the EXACT same way!!! Gang affiliation does have very homoerotic overtones!
Someone archive this please I’ve seen mad ppl upload it and it gets deleted I love this interview
damn watching him tear up talking about what he put his lady through was heartbreaking
Too bad we didn't get to see the interview in its entirety
Still can't believe he is really gone. One of the finest men who ever lived.
Norm macdonald, Gilbert Gottfriend and New Jack. Those were the ones who hurt for me :(.
It was Patrice Oneal for me...
No sheik?!! Losing turd furguson and black Phil fucking sucked
It was New Jack, Brodie Lee, Bray Wyatt, and Ken Block for me
@@jimmymetal713I never recognized Patrice’s greatness until recently, I was like 12-13 years old when he passed so I wasn’t at the age to understand the humor he spit on stage…
Shit man. Eddie Guerrero Ryan Dunn and dime bag.
Cheers all
I feel bad about how much that cracked skull affected him. Like that pain, insomnia, blindness, brain damage is all permanent ever since that fall. You can't tell those things just by looking at him even with the blindness. All you can see is the scars from where he got so much color over the years which isn't much in the grand scheme of things. All the really messed up health stuff was invisible. Even with the brain damage, cracking his skull is a lot worse than the wrestling CTE stuff you normally hear about but you can tell in the interviews he's still there and can think just fine, maybe with some pauses, but not like what you hear with Benoit and such.
lots of wrestling documentaries still treat him like a heel cuz he was did some messed up stuff in the ring. But it was ECW, and he was doing what paid so it's more like paulie was the violence equivalent of vince's sex pest stuff imo. He had a ton of potential with how good his promos were, even when he's half-blind with those injuries, but ecw used him up and spat him out letting him be the fall guy in more ways that one.
The world will never be the same since we lost r.i.p
Just so I got this straight I just spent the last hour getting worked by New Jack. Jerome was such a fascinating man. He had endless charisma and lived his gimmick. I swear in other interviews he tells actual stories about attempting to murder people and by the time he is done you feel bad New Jack did get them.
Hard Core ❤ Man pouring out his ❤️
Holy shit... Jack saw compassion as a weakness. He was full of love and passion, but we all become programmed to be certain ways. That one thing, him learning to dismiss compassion to survive emotionally, then taking coke to deal, is what I think made him generous.
The love and appreciation he's shown for Ricky, Robert and Tracy proves he had great heart. What a fuckin human, lol. RIP legend
*dangerous, not generous
"They thought I might flip out and stab everybody" Seems like a sound business decision lol
That coke said stttab him 🤣😭
New Jack was an asshole, but at least he was honest.
Cornette coming in with the Hard R on The Gangstas
New Jack being a sade and Tupac fan.. range
I could imagine Quentin Rampage Jackson having a similar experience. They almost sound they same.
Why is Xanax censored out, but Percocet isn't?
There's a difference to prescribe medication and not prescribed medication I think was the reason.
@@jgrullon32 Both Xanax and Percocet are prescription medications though. I don't know. It's weird, man.
Lol he was an enforcer for the hardest deaf gang in greensboro
New jack was the real deal R.I.P new jack you will be missed
I left the bars in the car hell yeah ! Long Live New Jack
Love you. 💙
People that really knew him and got on with him said he was a great guy, hilarious and caring.
Rip mate your sadly missed
"OJ had just killed everybody in LA"
Classic hahaha
The one and only New Jack
49:42 now I know where the "huh?" sound alot of you tube videos use came from hahahah... never knew it was from New Jack.
Was this meant to cut off where it did?
What year was this?
Where's the rest? It just ends abruptly.
A true Out Law. May your soul rest.
I'm finding him more entertaining to listen to than Richard Pryor
Pro wrestling and stand up comedy have so many similarities.
I loved and miss Jack.
Really interesting guy
With a background like his, how can you NOT grow up to be crazy.
Love how he says gangs are “gay” then proceeds to describes being in a gang 😂😂
NO GOD ONLY JACK!!!!
He didn't mean that he was in a literal organized gang though, he was just referring to the people he ran with
are you woke?
Getting mad someone dresses the same as you is totally gay!
Pause
34:06 😂😂😂
Did Kane and new jack know each other ?
Both trained by ray candy
Both in uswa around the similar times
Your welcome for the thought of a giant Christmas themed monster passing a blunt with new jack 😂
They were in Smoky Mountain together.
Still, Jack in WWE.. just imagine him in an Extreme Match at Wrestlemania.. god i would have paid good money for that
13:55 Fark me.. Damn
It’s funny but “deadbeat fathers” get talked about all the time but nobody talks about the sadistic/sociopathic mother which is sitting at the same number as the deadbeats, if not MORE.
38:48 what is an illegal substance?
He was saying st Ives( a alcoholic beverage ) was a controlled substance there
Who was he talking about when they are talking about race and Jack says “I’m not gonna say his name but he kissed ass all the way to WWF down to TNA”?
RIP New Jack 🙌🏻. Got to see him live in his prime back at the arena in the late 90s!🤘🏻 Sean is the greatest shoot guy , hands down. The pod with Nash rules , very down to earth dudes
Peace and love ✌🏻🖤
He was taking about Booker T. I'm 99% sure
Nope he was talking about DVon Dudley
Get the tables!!!!!!
RIP New Jack
You told it how it was/is
This man HIGH! as hell
Not at all.
Every time he tells the story about his mother getting stabbed and watching her dress turn turn from white to red, I get chills. That is the seminal reason as to why he was such a psychopath. That’s exactly why he stabbed people over and over again in his life. It’s so rare to get a glimpse into the mind of a maniac and get to see the exact point in time where the seed of pure evil was sown and then get to witness the chaos it would go onto cause. Crazy stuff and scary stuff
Also explains why his mother probably poisoned his dad.
@@gts8919 the super chilling part was the fact that despite watching his father try killing his mother multiple times directly in front of the young new Jack, it was his mother that he loathed. He stated multiple times that he hated her, wished that she was dead multiple times, so the story about her poisoning his father wasn’t something that I put much stock in. Always seemed like an excuse he made up to make it alright to hate her in his mind. As far as hating his mother and loving the abusive father, I always thought it was because he ended up being worse than his dad and didn’t want to admit it
Not to mention she was screwing around in the same bed as new jacks father slept. Traumatized
@@user-ph8gn1qr6u you're straight up stupid or willfully ignorant with this read of him lol. fucking dumbass
R.I.P. New Jack
R.I.P NEW JACK
RIP New Jack
Rip new Jack
I'm Like number 333 ironic cuz most people don't realize new jack was only half evil!😂😂 He'd like that one! No lie though new jack is my number 2 all time favorite wrestler behind Scott Hall and init because he wasn't as historically important as the moves Hall made in his career but new jack was the original Indy Darling he just so happened to not be so darling and more so daring. Weather he was working or not new jack was just that new jack and didn't even find Jerome young again until the last 5 years of his life. He was happy and had a family and was settling in to the normal world finally just before his heart attack. Both guys stories are tragic tales with bitter sweet happy endings though.
He had a happy ending. It always messed with my head until I was talking to his tattoo guy. Losing him while he was at a point where he was peaceful, he was happy, his career was beginning a resurgence-- I couldn't make it make sense. But he said, "That's how you want to go." He was right. He would've hated being old, or being sick. Knowing he was happy means a lot.
He was cool but violent as hell,he thought it was mortal Kombat
Sean fucking rules!!!
RIP Pro wrestlings O.G.
We saw the actual Jerome Young the last 10-15 minutes
New Jack was a man of consequence a rarity these days
