The upcoming Spider-Verse wave is bewildering with the various torso articulation setups. Miles has a chest crunch and an abdomen ball joint while Peter has the reverse.
One thing I dig about Anthony's reviews is talking about proportions and how musculature should look, overall. Might be fun to have a video comparing a few figures with different builds where they made really good decisions... versus some really bad ones. And, if there are any human analogs to compare those to. The headsculpt here is great and that paint! WOW!
His boots are keyed in so they can’t swivel unfortunately. But I’ve seen people cut the little piece holding it in and getting a swivel with a few mods!
@SpicyPsyDuck A human can't rotate their thigh either, technically, since there's no joint there either. Hips and knees on figs don't move the same way humans do, so the thigh swivel and boot swivel in combo give a much more realistic overall rotation capability to the legs for serious posing, which some people enjoy. Want to see what terrible lower-body articulation looks like? Pick up a few McFarlane figs, where the hips barely rotate, no thigh cut or boit cut, etc. Anything but vanilla statue posing is damn near impossible with those. Also, boot cut has been an almost universal norm with ML figs for a long time.
@@SpicyPsyDuck Because the ankle pivot is off-set, having the boot swivel would help and wouldn't damage the aesthetic since it is an actual boot. The blue patterns on the suit break if you just twist the thigh, the boot swivel would be more useful in this case.
@@jimwheeler9840 Or they could just use ball joints for ankles and use a internal thigh rotation like Mafex or SHF and instead of those ugly cuts. It is only necessary to compensate their outdated designs.
A history of ML Wolverine figures would be cool. I can’t get over no boot swivel. Hasbro has been doing it more often lately and it’s likely a way to cut costs. No excuses for something that should come with every figure with boots.
doesn’t even make sense they have to pay for the plastic to key in the solid plastic of the boot into the solid plastic of the calf, which would literally cost the exact same as having a peg into the calf seeing as it’s the same amount of plastic
you’re genuinely the only reviewer I trust. it seems like every other reviewer chalks it up to “i like this character and this costume so it’s a great figure,” whereas you actually observe and comment on every single detail and feature. also, i’d love a video of every ML wolverine!

Anthony, I think it’s be a great idea to do an updated best of Marvel Legends Wolverine figure list. A way to change it up also might be great hear you thoughts on designing a Wolverine figure. Like Marvel comes to you asks you to make them the best Wolverine figure. What do you do? What do you change? What do you keep? What does Anthony’s Wolverine figure look like? That be cool to hear.
The pin on the first claw on the left hand on my copy is a tad loose and comes out slightly, which results in the claw twisting. Pushing it back in usually straightens it out. My biggest problem is I had some pretty bad paint rub on the inside of the biceps where they come into contact with the blue paint. A lot of paint rubbed off onto the arms.
I missed out on the X-Men '97 Wolverine figure, so I put the pre-order in for this guy, and when the reviews started rollin out quick for him, I'm glad I put the money out for him when I did. He looks great with my X-Men figures lineup, which honestly mostly consists of the '97 figures (Magneto, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, and Gambit), Hot Claws Wolverine, Toad, and Nightcrawler (Wendigo BAF line). I'm definitely in need of some others, but it's a nice lineup so far, and he's definitely without a doubt the cherry on top.
My claws on the left fell off right out of the box. The right claws were loose. I put dabs of glue on them for fear of them falling and getting lost. Might buy some metal ones from Can O Beams and glue them down
Your videos look and sounds good to me Anthony. Thanks for your review on this product. Consensus seems to believe this to be the best Wolverine ML has produced. With the limitations in the torso prohibiting movement such as those Wolverine performs is rather disappointing. I'd love to see your Wolverine collection - that is if you don't have to make a mess in the basement locating them all.
I could be wrong but I think they got the suit design wrong. I believe this suit on the sides it is supposed to have 3 separate stripes but on this figure they kinda mashed them together kinda like how the animated series suit looks
Great review brother.. hopefully you'll make some more custom Marvel Legends Wolverine heads .. especially the one with the cigar..they would probably sell out withall the Marvel Legends Wolverines being released lately Anyways looking forward to more of your Marvel Legends reviews 👑
I think the neck joint thing might be because the torsos are made of abs plastic, and doing the ballpeg directly on the edge makes it more likely to break, so they move the joint inwards. I have a wrestling figure that does have the joint higher and it did begin cracking right at the edge of the neck where the ball connects. All other instances of a double ball neck I've seen, that have the ball at the edge, have a pvc neck, which bends so its far more durable. That's my theory on why hasbro does that deep neck joint. The best way to fix it would be to just make the neck a separate pvc piece all the time.
4:38 Wolverine looks like he double punched an ant colony, and just allowed them to attack his arms. A little bit of some mild self-destructive behavior. He didn't want to have to wait for his skin to grow back, so a couple thousand ant bites will do for now.
I was hoping they update the torso for the new brown suit wolverine so I can stop looking for mafex version. but sadly it’s the same old minus the pins
My action figure has no issues in right claws. They are perfect. Also one thing I noticed is that blue paint from ribs area chips on to his inner biceps. So be careful about that. Overall awesome figure though. My favourite Wolverine from Marvel Legends.
Watching on iPhone. Audio is good. Video is good. Honestly the setup is a little darker than it used to be, but I prefer it. I get using super bright lights to catch every detail for a review, just not a fan as its not how the figure would normally be seen? Not sure how to explain that intelligently or without sounding like complaining tbh. Dont mean it to be. And hell yes on the Wolverine action figure evolution.
Thanks for the input. I actually have more lights now but that doesn't mean the video is brighter. I have to adjust the camera settings for each review to get the right visibility. Some plastics and colors react differently so I can't just set the right exposer for everything...But others have said it's too bright in this video...so I think it comes down to the end users' device.
Spiral, She-Hulk, Blob, Black Widow, this Wolverine. I am cautiously optimistic that Hasbro is getting the message. The figures named check near all the boxes for me. Once you get it crouched and posed, I was surprised but I think Toad is pretty great too.
They should just copy mezcos Ball peg on the head as it’s the best so far for movement as they use two big balls (not deep into the peg hole ) and thin short peg works like magic
Quick question I can't wrap my head around. The yellow looks a bit cheap. I donno how to describe it. Objectively it is a good match to the source material, but for some reason, it looks plasticy and less collectible. Is it because it's shiny instead of more matte like the blue? Or because they used a more translucent plastic (especially for the torso)? Or maybe im just crazy and it looks fine irl.
The scale, neck joint and lack of boot swivel( despite the boots being separate) is a big annoyance for me, much like the scale on the warbird figure. Even though I have neither as not coming out until Septemberish in uk.
man i been looking for a wolverine since i got the revotech deapool 2.0 hope u do a review on that too, also ant u didnt do a review on the flame wolverine.
Hey Anthony, maybe you can answer this in another video or something but I've heard that the reason that the neck pegs are seated so far down in Legends is that when marketed and sold as a "toy" which they are, they need to meet specific safety standards that require the peg to be anchored so far down do to choking hazard restrictions whereas a "collectible" doesn't require the same restrictions so they are permitted to have the peg seated higher up, allowing for better range. Any truth to this as you understand it? Not trying to defend the massive multi-national conglomerate, just some food for thought.
