not gonna lie ... as a new rider I went with the Sedici Strada II Carbon helmet because it was DOT/ECE rated, it looked pretty good, (because I wear glasses) the inner visor shades fit over my glasses and it wasn't 600 clams. I also figured as a new rider I'll probably abuse the hell out of everything before I learn to take care of everything. Eventually I'll get a better crafted Helmet (i actually like the AGV line) but Sedici isnt bad so far.

Bought a Sedici Sistima 2, so far I am very happy with it. I’m not a full coverage helmet wearer usually - first one in about 35 yrs. I tried on all the usual high end suspects - personally preferred the fit of the Arai overall all, the shoei was very nice fit, and several HJC’s were in the running, however the end I went with the sistima 2 because I loved the fit - you are right, it’s about the cheek piece. I have about 5,000 miles on it since July when I bought it. So far so good. Enjoyed your comparison.
yeah Ruroc helmet save you in a crash but they are still overpriced low quality garbage. this helmet here would have done the same thing like the overpriced garbage.
When people say "Lookup RUclips videos for more information" they mean this RUclips video!!! Never thought I will watch a Helmet review that goes into this much detail! Kudos.. and appreciate you doing this for us newBees!
Hopefully you get enough views and whatnot to offset the cost you incurred to make these videos. This is probably the most appropriate and informative video in response to the the whole Ruroc debate. I noted the same cost savings when I compared my wife's Sedici Strada 2 to my Shoei RF-SR.
Subbed for sure. Community needs this type of in depth tear down of every helmet that ever comes out. You are in the forefront my man. Keep moving forward, you have a new sub and loyal fan.
its interesting that ruroc skimped on seemingly the cheapest part. Its some foam and material.. put it in proper places in proper amount and there would be 0 hate
This is my 3rd video ive seen from your channnel. I am very impressed that you use your own money to buy and destroy helmets to educate the masses. I hope you get the financial blessings you need to keep doing these specific kinds of videos. Im going to venture a guess and say the 3 thumbs down came from revzilla, someone who bought this helmet and swears buy it and someone who doesnt own but likes this helmet and was butt hurt by it. You have my respect.
I just got booted from the RMG Facebook group because when someone said the only people who are posting negative reviews are people who are jealous and don't have the cash to buy a Ruroc and I replied with every single person who has posted a negative, or positive, review has physically had the helmet and that it's okay to admit the helmet has problems. I then said I wish instead of constantly releasing new designs trying to get more money that they would focus a little more on fixing the issues with the current helmet, because really, with how cool it looks if they would just fix some simple things like the padding and fitment it would be a pretty great helmet. Was booted out of the group 30 minutes later
I haven't rode in 10 years. The helmet I used during that summer was a hand me down from the previous owner of the bike. Didn't fit me right but I was a dumb kid getting into a motorcycle lol. I walked into cycle gear a few days ago and bought some gear since I'm planning on buying a yamaha xsr700 within the next month or so. Purchased the Sedici Strada but without the drop down visor so it's snell rated. I tried it on, liked it. Got home tried it on more but wasn't a fan of the chin strap and how it felt under my chin. Getting my glasses on was a bit of a pain in the ass. You and I use the same size so glad I'm not the only one with the glasses struggle. I ended up purchasing the scorpion exo-r1 and can't wait for that one to come in and then I'll return the strada.
I just got the Strada 2 Wet Carbon for $369 at Cycle Gear, & I like it so far. Fits really good, blocks out the wind. I just watched a “Beat Motorcycle Helmets of 2022” & AVG was #1 & the Strada 2 was #2. 🙌🏼
My first helmet when I restarted riding was (is) a Sedici Systema. It is ECE and Modular and the comfort level when I compared to Shoei did not compel me to move up the price scale. For entry level they are darn hard to beat. I ride year round so I have snowmobile insert that and when I change it out the skirt is a bit of a challenge to get back in. That said, mine stays locked in tight with a minute of work. Love seeing the insides of the various helmets.
Been in the market for a new helmet which is how I found your videos. I have the primo version of the sedici helmet(the snell rated version) which means I don't have the fold down sun visor, but is otherwise the same. I can absolutely say I wish I had either saved my money and gotten something else, or even spent less money on a scorpion helmet because those are nicer. Every issue you noted, I can verify is accurate. I can also say the cheek pads wear out VERY fast, like 2 months fast. There is no way I am safe in this helmet with how much it has loosened up.
I bought the first Strada Carbon from CG 6 yrs ago 300ISH size large... its heavy for a carbon, bulky, but it's the first version.... good for cruising on my HD.... Now it's on my shelf as a spare....
Traditionally I also like the way the visor mounts and unmounts on the Sedici. I usually use a dark smoke outer lens during the day and I can use to drop down to get further shade, which is crucial in the Utah sun. And after sunset I switch back to the clear visor. I just keep the extra lens and the tail bag so I'm able to do that. The dark visor makes seeing irregularities in the road at night challenging so the clear lens helps significantly with that. And with the darker visor and the drop down I don't need to have glasses inside.
Try the Scorpian R420. It's a little older but It's one of the best beginner helmets (my opinion), is SNELL rated, and is currently $150. It's a popular helmet and i'm curious how you'll like it.
Great series. I'm with you on the recommendation of the Shoei over the Sedici. The Sedici is a great helmet -for the price-. But when it comes to safety gear, it's worth paying a bit more for better protection. And, like you, I'm a Shoei guy. I've been waring them since the 80's. RF100, 107, 200, 700, etc., up to the GT Air I have now.
I tried on one of these helmets at Cycle Gear. It totally sucked my will to live. What an extremely tight fit even with an oversized helmet for my head measurement.
To the other channels that did reviews on the Ruruc (Kruc of) and sold there soul as they were given as free helmet I unsubscribed, but I have subscribed to your channel... Thanks for keeping it real and honest
Just got the strada 2, XXL as well. I think since you fit Shoei well you probably have a rounder head (wider sides) so that’s where you get the problem with the glasses. I don’t seem to have a problem at all putting my glasses on in the strada 2, but guess it depends person to person
I have to say I liked this video to the last one when you cut open the ruroc. Way more in depth on the shell and foam. You really focused on how shit the liner was on the ruroc but didn't touch on any of the other points. Now I can say I agree with your opinion of the ruroc being over priced. Thanks for taking the time to revisit them.
I have the Sedici Strada II in the exact color and I was considering the Ruroc Atlas 3.0, until I watched several reviews. The lack of ability to close the vents on the Rock without stopping to put plugs in is an absolute design failure. I was immediately impressed by the quality and feel of the Sedici cheek pads and liner. I have a Sena 20S Evo with U-Clear speakers and I can easily hear my music and navigation instructions over wind and exhaust noise. For reference I'm on a Harley V-Rod with baffle-less TAB exhaust.
"Say-dee-chee" I just wrecked with this Strada 3 (aug 2024) and it saved me from a concussion. The ECE 22.06 rating is such a safer option than DOT or Snell. The Sedici Strada is a fantastic helmet. The liner felt great even at the end of an Iron Butt ride. Only complaint is the visor fogs up easily, but a Pinlock fixed that for me. The new Strada 3 has premium features at a great price.
Thanks for the tear down of the Sedici, I'm riding with their modular helmet. If you're looking for suggestions, like to see a ~$300 helmet like a Icon Airflite & maybe a ~$100 HJC CS-R3. I raced with a Shoei helmet years ago, but it didn't breath and was matte black. I've been buying budget helmets recently, but you're definitely selling me on the RF-1400.
The ruroc eps will be in two pieces primarily for ease of construction. BTW, there are plenty of budget helmets with slots for glasses, sockets for ear pieces, sunshades etc, that are ECE rated and also Sharp 4 and 5 star.
You are doing a great job. I'd love to see you include an Arai and a Bell in the mix, but on the other hand I'm not trying to send you to the poor house lol.
I love my strada, I wear thicker Oakley framed glasses and I don’t have too much of an issue getting them in. But, I can definitely understand the issue. I’m forced to not ride with the chin thing in because I have a longer beard. But all in all, I’d give my sedici a 4/5. Edit: I had an HJC long ago and would’ve been riding with it, but I hadn’t been on a bike for so long it sat in the garage and got heat cycled for YEARS. Looking to get into an ICON or AGV sooner than later.
Really liked the video, and I know this cost you a bundle, but I kinda wished you would have torn into an Arai Regent X. Either way loved this series, since I was initially going towards a Ruroc until I started seeing reviews. This one kinda nailed it and decided not to go in the Ruroc decision. Kinda wished the RF-1400 fit me better, oh well back to the drawing board.
I have the Strada II Animale. Gotta put the helmet halfway on, then glasses, then seat the helmet. A small dab of super glue on the chin curtain pins, and it won’t move again. 🤙🏼
It's my head. All helmets look slightly off center which is my fault, not the helmets lol. I don't get paid to look pretty and my disfigured giant noggin is what it is.
Again, gr8 investigation. For $200, that sedici would make a good passenger alt. On a curious note, riding with the visor up, will sedici whistle like the ruroc???
So I'm relatively new to the motorcycling world so I'm not sure how this would work but could someone take a ruroc helmet they purchased and get it tested for Snell and ece privately. Or is there something where that wouldn't be allowed because they don't own the properties of the helmet?
Can you tell if the foam (eps) is one density, dual or more density? If that differ between helmet it would be a huge difference. Shoei uses dual layer multi density EPS. What do ruroc use?
FYI sedici is owned by cyclegear/revzilla so they get better margins selling it as compared to other helmets. If I’m going to purchase a budget helmet I’d probably look at a hjc. I don’t want to slag sedici too much they’re ok for what they are.
I’m guessing the same reason the Shoei RF1400 is two pieces. It lets them cut additional airways into the foam for ventilation. You typically see that more in premium helmets.
So to sum it up - you pay for a 250-300$ helmet and 200-250$ for marketing and design with the Ruroc compared to other brands? Would be interesting to see other 500$ helmets split in two and reviewed more thoroughly on shell and eps, buckle strength, shell durability and penetration etc. which should be more important (life saving stuff). It would be nice if you can do an AGV K6 with it’s 6 layers of eps (supposed to be thinner and lighter at same protection as dual eps).
Completely off topic question... how do you find editing the footage from the insta360 and the go pros? Do you export the insta footage first, and then re-edit with the other footage?
Have you noticed that when you put a helmet on that your face is not centered in the helmet? Maybe has something to do with the issue of getting your glasses on. Just an update observation.
I love these videos. You could cut out (pun intended) a nice niche in motorcycle YouTubing by cutting open helmets. Subscribed for an Arai and Icon next!
Man watching you fiddle with getting your glasses on makes me so glad I got Lasik before I started riding. It cost a lot but I'll maintain it was the best money I ever spent fuck glasses
I wear contacts so haven’t ever been too worried about whether I can wear glasses with a helmet or not but I just bought an HJC RPHA 11 Pro and tried my glasses and sunglasses on with it. I was surprised how easy it was to get them in comfortably!
@@GearsGadgets humor me here but is it possible you have the wrong helmet “head shape” type? It’s impossible for me to tell just from looking but go into cycle gear and ask to try on some long oval and round oval. To me it sounds like you’re more of a round oval shape. My head is almost the exact same measurement as yours and I fit into a Large intermediate oval like the Sedici Strada 2. Helmets are supposed to be tight and a pain to get in (except for the “convertible” kind which is much easier. Don’t risk injury though, no way you’re a 2XL with the same head shape as me in this helmet with the same size head. It may be helpful to think of how a bicycle helmet fits. It’s like a skullcap. Zero play for the most part. That’s how a helmet should fit. It should squeeze your cheeks too for full face helmets. Anyway that’s my 2 cents.
@@Fee.1 helmets are supposed to be snug but not create pressure points. It shouldn’t be a “pain” to get a helmet on, but it should fit snug. Anyway, I DID go into cycle gear and I DID try on helmets with a salesman, and that is what we both agreed fit best for my head shape. I also ride with a Shoei RF1400 that is also an intermediate oval that fits perfectly as sized. I appreciate the input but also, these videos are mainly intended to discuss construction, not best fitting helmets (which is subjective anyway). There are a LOT of people who for some reason or another love to hang up on sizing in these videos. It would be like me reading your comment and telling you that your helmet is too tight… I have no way of knowing nor would I try to assess fitment over social media.
@@GearsGadgets you explain to me the math behind two people with the same size head supposedly fitting in the same shape helmet but one is a large and one is a 2XL, and both are supposedly properly sized. I’d love to know the calculus behind thinking that checks out.
@@Fee.1 only if you can explain the math behind being hyper focused on the least important part of the video. In all reality it’s quite possible we are different people with different shaped skulls measured by two different people likely not measuring at the identical place. We’re humans man, the helmet I bought fit me right and your arguing makes about as much sense as arguing pant or shoe size of uniquely different people. Mind blowing how you are stuck on the least important detail of the video as if I had titled the video “the proper helmet size” or something. Again, the video is 99.9999% about the construction of different helmets. Move on.

It's my head. All helmets look slightly off center which is my fault, not the helmets lol. I don't get paid to look pretty and my disfigured giant noggin is what it is.
@@GearsGadgets Oh, thanks for the clarification haha
Again, gr8 investigation. For $200, that sedici would make a good passenger alt. On a curious note, riding with the visor up, will sedici whistle like the ruroc???
No, I've been riding with the sedici for a couple months and no whistle. I also haven't ever noticed the whistle that was mentioned in the video.
I want to see you slice a schuberth c4 Helmet
FYI sedici is owned by cyclegear/revzilla so they get better margins selling it as compared to other helmets. If I’m going to purchase a budget helmet I’d probably look at a hjc. I don’t want to slag sedici too much they’re ok for what they are.
Thank you for doing this series. I would love to see you keep going however; I know it's expensive. Sub'd.
i have 2xl head and a 3xl Sedeci was So small it was Impossible to put on ... go 2 sizes up
Awesome video very interesting keep it up 💪🏻
Thank you 🙌
Very creative the others didn’t do that great job bro✊🏍🤟🚀💯🙏🏽✌️🎥😎❤️🔥😇🤙☝️😃😄😁🙋🤘🏼🤝
Strada II is pretty sweet
Anyone knows why the Ruroc inside liner is made of two pieces of foam instead of just one like the other ?
I’m guessing the same reason the Shoei RF1400 is two pieces. It lets them cut additional airways into the foam for ventilation. You typically see that more in premium helmets.
It nonstop fogs up in temps under 50.
Helmets are symetric, faces are not.
Give a man a saw and see what he can do. I did try a sedichi and just couldn’t find it comfortable.
Sedici has this helnet in carbonfiber as well.
Comparing wind noise from one helmet to another and you have a wind screen during one ride and not on another is just not a fair comparison.
I love these videos. You could cut out (pun intended) a nice niche in motorcycle YouTubing by cutting open helmets. Subscribed for an Arai and Icon next!
looks like you hate fiberglass dust on your arms as much as i do
I'd take the strada 2 than ruroc anyday
Nice 👍🏽. Information ℹ️
I'm subbing
Cut open the gringo s ece helmet please!!
Sedici > Ruroc.
Also, the Sedici is not advertised as being glasses compatible...
pls do a agv pista
I don’t have $875 laying around to destroy.
The roroc fanatic guy 🤣
So, you're sponsored by shoei..... got it...
🤦
sedici makes a excellent helmet for the price.....
2XL??? What’s your head measurement?
Just under 61 cm
Move on.
Cut through Nexx Xwst3
Wow, great video!! One comment for the algo ;)
Hey, thanks!
Shoei is a $500 helmet. Sedici is a $200 helmet. Rurock is not a $500 helmet.
