PLANTING THIS YEARS MAIZE CROP 2022

- In todays video we have the maize in! Me & bro give the field a final cut of the Lemken harrow & then the contractor comes in to sow the maize under plastic as we don't have a maize planter for plastic. Father Phil is on the harrow just before the drill to leave a perfect seed bed. A lot less stones & wind this year so the plastic stays on.

Farmer Phil has more personality and likeability than anyone on RTE currently....
Im not sure if thats a compliment.....
Phil I have grown maize without plastic up in the north here for the last 7 years it works well another benefit is you can sown fert and spray the crop when it is growing and works better.
Another great video Phil hope you have a nice weekend great drone footage 👍👍👍🦌
Farmer Phil is the best in the world wide world 🌎 he’s just what we need liv and father Phil and Brother are so interesting and tells you what it really like farming not easy. Will watch on later GodBless and Good Luck.🇮🇪🇮🇪🇺🇦🇺🇦
Interesting video as always :) Bro is a great workhorse, and it looks like the old John Deere 6310 has done alot of work as well :) Going to be interesting to see the uncovered maize :)
Vary good video ! Bro is doing grate I think he Likes farming now . I like how you tow get along its grate to have brothers I have three lots of fun ! I hope the crop is good lots of it. See you in the next one !
yeah that plaastic sticks around for a couple years I'm sure Samco is working on something else. Still n o ban on it over here yet.
Good video Phil love this time of year when the crops are being sown
And that's a wrap 👏 🙌 👌
Good luck with the maize Philip, it's expensive alright but so is everything else this year. If all goes well then it might pay.
Very good video Phil
Honestly Phil, just ask the contractor if you can have a play with the 6310 next time, be a good video, I think you’d like a 10 series John Deere design. It’s perfection 👍
She's 22 yo. now and still going well. Great old girl now.
You were saying about missing the 6480 for picking stones, we use the gator, you can see out if it easily and jump in an out handy. Tip the stones out at the end too
Bro looks all grown up now with the long trousers he is a great addition to the team
Well done to you all hope it pales off
Another quality video phil 💪
Great video phil, nice drone action.
Great video phil love the jumpers
God bless sponsor's 🙌
The price of that biodegradable plastic is crazy prices, I priced it up for an area I plant veg about 1 acre. And since I amnt a farmer or a business could only buy 500 metre rolls of it for over £300, would hate to think about the prices of commercial roll and having to use it all that year because if it gets too wet/damp in storage its of no use
Great vid Phil have a nice weekend
Well Phil where’s the good 3690 shed be due a good run out on the harrow?
Probably won’t see it this year but hopefully have it out for the summer
Best of luck with it hope it's a bumper crop
Looks good Phil 👍
Evening
Great video hopefully it goes well with all the expense’s soweing it interesting some with and without plastic
As one of your followers said you can give it extra fertiliser and sprap
Good luck with it
Great video Phil hope you get a great crop of it how is uncle Ian doing hope he’s ok
Brilliant video Phil that is an awful lot of fertilizer 👍
Which of the claas equipment are you going to buy,was it a good trip😉😉
Interesting
Hi Phil, how many tonnes of maize are you looking at getting off the 2 fields? How many cattle will it feed? Looks great 👌👌

Is the government not subsidising for maize planting this year?
Well
Phill i need help can you tell me where you got seed potatos
Are ye looking at a new Class Jag for this year 😆
Maise is going in
Do you still use the Mf with front loader or is it broken?
Phil for the crop of maize thats going in uncovered, would there be an argument for not spreading the slurry pre sowing but waiting til it's a foot or so tall and spreading with a dribble bar.
I could not justify plastic £150 a acre no way ! A lot of maize going in with no plastic this year round here.
What’s them L200 like heard mixed reviews
Farmers always tell you the costs they incur but never mention the profit they make.
At this point and time all I know is the cost and I won’t know whether I made or lost money till the crop is harvested in October
@@FARMERPHIL3690 Phil, I'm a rural lad, in wexford and have farmer friends who say just that. But going by the machinery they own and the cars they drive they sure are making good money on average.
what you mean by Draft control? raising or lowering the 3 point linkage?
Yes it’s lifting or lowering 3 point linkage. The draft control is a more precise way to lift or lower the linkage
Do I see z green tractor on the farm ???😯
Can you explain the purpose of the plastic? I never seen that in the USA.
It enables earlier sowing preventing frost damage and gives better yield giving a green house effect at establishment stage of growth
It gives maize an artificial start in marginal climates
Ye must be high if ye are lettin bro in the 99!!!
I wouldnt like to drive tthe plastic layer planter
When you were showing Eric the setting you might as well have been speaking French , he. Was totally lost 😆 there’s really no need for all that crap about settings just lift and drop and throttle is all is needed
why do you not trim the shrubbery on the outside of the field you will gain a few acres and still have the vegetation separating the fields and won't scratch the tractor all to shit
That would be doing thing's right 😁
Generally field is to wet to do it and this time of the year we can’t cut back hedges
what is with the machinery only as wide as the tractor is there anyone that can put wings on the harrow and the roller, you are wasting a huge amount of fuel put wings on that roller now its 30 feet wide instead of ten done faster used less fuel holy shit what a waste of fuel and time
Lot of John Deere machines appearing lately…… just saying 🟢😂
