And thank you for watching.
As a newbie to resin your videos are so helpful, thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you so much. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Also check out my art buddies videos too. Artist Till Death. Between the two of us, you should have plenty of info. ruclips.net/channel/UCQa3-NvjpIZdgWlxgAVhy7Q
Clara Lawrence thank you ❤️❤️
Sooo beautiful 🤗
Thanks for sharing the leak good to know this one is more galaxy colors liked the the round ones colors better 😊
I have mishaps just like everyone else. Gotta share the fixes, especially since others have shared with me. I like the round one better too.
Very cool. I'm experimenting with techniques like this on fibreglass for surfboards. Should be interesting...
This would be so cool on surfboards. I have a lot of dirty pour videos on my channel. Just search for dirty when you get to my main page. Check out Artist Till Death for colors for your resin. There are some super vibrant colors. "Howdy" for additional off on your purchase.
This one is pretty but I LOVE the way the first pour turned out....i feel like the celestial look is prettier. Thank you for showing us both ways to do this
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Just stunning! I have a ton of pigments left over from my soap making business which are in powder form. Pigments such as iron oxide, ultramarine blue, chlorophyll, etc. Do you think I could use them to color resin?
Honestly I do not know. It might be worth it to do a small test and see how they behave.
So is this staying inside the wooden box? If I was gonna do this on a panel I'd pour it onto the panel right?
Yes, it is part of the tray now. If you would like to do a pour onto a panel. Make sure it is sealed first. Wood breathes and will release bubbles into your resin. Also, check for cracks in the wood where the resin might seep in and puddle on the back.
Beautiful work, what have you used to make cells
I use Color Passion to create my cells as well as other color brands. When the colors go over the color passion it creates the cells. I get all my colors from Artist Till Death. Use code "howdy" for an additional 5% off. artisttilldeath.com
@@ClaraLawrence ty for your quick reply,m from india, here brands r different, will try to search similar to color passion, thanks again.
Apologies in advance for what's probably a dumb question, but....
I came to this video b/c I'm a veteran of simple acrylic dirty pours. But I'm curious about achieving similar pieces with resin. These videos are terrific, but I'm unclear about how the paints are prepared.
Are you saying you simply buy different color resins and layer them with no other additives? Because with acrylics, I have to add Floetrol and silicon lubricant to get maximum "cellation." Is that not required for doing resin pours? Is there another video that addresses this question?
Other than the absence of explanation about paint prep, I find your videos extremely efficacious. So thank you for them!
No worries. I have had lots of comments that people don't like me mixing and talking about the prep process (as that can take awhile) in every video. This video talks about prepping the resin. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for the new word. I had to look that up. ruclips.net/video/SjCT0suhlp8/видео.html
Thanks so much for the info on epoxy pigments. Didn't even know they existed! I would have wasted some of my golden acrylics lol
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching. Others have shared with me and I'm just returning the gesture.
Julia Marie Madness oh yeah definitely ❤️ i love my mica powders i use. they’re better than alcohol inks
It kind of reminds me of a nebula in space
Thanks. I can see that.
Do you seal your wood so it doesn’t breathe before you resin it?
Nope. These bamboo trays already have a coating of varnish on them and haven't had any trouble. But they are prone to leaking, so tape your bottom edges.
have you ever had a problem with the resin leaking out? I learned that the hard way and now I make sure I seal all the edges.
Yup, with a wooden bamboo tray that had straight sides. Oops. Now if there is anything I have any hesitation on I slap a few pieces of painters tape on and I'm usually good to go.
So you use monster liquid latex in the paint and resin or is it just paint?
That is a very complex question. I use monster latex on the back of the painting to help remove cured resin drips. The color is pigments or pastes that were designed to go into resin. There is no acrylic in this. Hopefully that answers your question.
Clara Lawrence so how do you get the cells it’s beautiful.......I just love your work..... TFS......
how do you get it off the wooden tray??
91% alcohol when the resin is still wet.
Are these colors mixed with resin? or are they acrylic?
Yes these colors are mixed into the resin. However they are from pigments or pastes that have been developed for resin. End result is a richer more vibrant color. Acrylics can be used but because of the water in them they will create a chemical reaction with the resin very easily if too much is added. It is tricky and the color is no where near as vibrant as the other products.
What is the work time on that resin you really are able to slow the process down without smoking hot resin
This is Stone Coat Art Coat resin and I have been able to get over 2 hours of working time with it.
@@ClaraLawrence wow I'm going to have to try that thank you
@@mindygilliam8624 Awesome!
so are you like mixing acrylic paint with resin or?
I am mixing colors designed for resin. Acrylic paint can be used, but super tricky as it is water based and can seize up your resin (harden) if the amounts are incorrect. The colors I can get with the pigments and pastes are bold and delicate depending on what I want.
Clara Lawrence ooh okay thanks!! do you seal the wood trays before using them?
Stone coat
Yes indeed. Stone Coat Art Coat.
Did you mix the colors with resin too?
Yes, I did. I added the colors into the resin and then combined the colors as desired. Check out this video. It shows the mixing process. ruclips.net/video/SjCT0suhlp8/видео.html
