    I've ALWAYS used a compressed air gun ($50 on Amazon and way cheaper than constantly buying cans) and a Lenspen. Lenspens are fantastic, and made specifically for delicate lenses. They actually created a VR lenspen, which is even better. Just do not buy any knock off versions.
    Micro fiber is nice, but the chance of something being on the cloth still scares me

    My headset had a thin but noticeably visible hair between screen and lens right from the beginning. So I send the headset back and now I’m waiting for the return of a proper headset again.

    I'd recommend taking the light shield off before doing any of these steps, giving you better access to the lenses

    +1 for lens pen. Sweat crystallises when it dries and any type of rubbing can scratch the surface. Better to brush all that off beforehand, quite often brushing is all that's needed. Wish I'd known this with my first PSVR (which had a very fragile anti reflective coating).

      Be careful with liquids. We don't know how well Sony have sealed the units, so liquids could potentially leak between the layers. Some have returned their PSVR2's for a replacement because of adhesive stuck to the lens between layers, which would suggest that the manufacturing does not have the best quality control.

    Hama lens cleaning pen. Far better and safer for your lenses than any liquid or microfiber cloth.

  • @mitcherny6965

    Dust particles are of no concern, they are too fine and soft to cause any damage. Just use the old trick of cleaning any glass surface. Breathe some moist warm vapour with your breath onto the lenses and then wipe quickly with a microfiber cloth. Done!

    • @videogamer38
      @videogamer38 Год назад +3

      That is not the way to clean them. If any liquid gets behind the lens, especially liquid from the mouth that contains microbes can easily become a problem and once behind the lens then you can't do anything about it

    • @mitcherny6965
      @mitcherny6965 Год назад +12

      @@videogamer38 You are funny. 1. You don't have to spit any "liquid from your mouth" onto the lenses. 2. Nothing will get "behind the lens" because the moisture from your breath evaporates in 2 seconds, and even if it did somehow, the fan inside the headset would dry that just as quickly. 3. If you watched the disassembly of the PSVR2 headset you would know the lenses are sealed to the holder rings, making sure no dust, moisture or "microbes" get behind them. So do your research and think before writing such silly things.

      @mitcherny6965 Год назад +1

      @@mr.pblivin1386 You may be OK for some time but because the "soft" fabric is not microfiber it will start leaving tiny scratches which overtime will build up and ruin the surface of the lens. No problem with glass but with plastic you need microfiber.

      @@xJay2002 i have the same smudge that just won’t go away and I did return my headset on the 23 of february but the retailer said everything works fine. I just didn’t find the sweet spot. While wearing the headset I just notice the mura effect and not the smudges but that’s normal. At least now that I wear it correctly it looks very good in the center of the screen. Just foveated rendering doesn’t seem to work, it only sharpens whatever is in the center. Maybe the new update fixes something.

      @@Superhyuman oh okay. Ya I thought I was the only one that felt like foveated rendering/eye tracking didn’t really work and that it’s only sharp in the Center, not where you look which it should be if eye tracking and foveated rendering was working correctly. Really hoping it improves because this was a big feature for me and kinda disappointed since it doesn’t seem to be working or at least not as good as I thought it would be. But still gotta use the psvr 2 a little more to make a proper conclusion.

      General warning:
      "Do not use thinner, benzine, or alcohol. Avoid using wipes, chemically treated cloths, and other products that contain such substances."
      For cleaning lenses:
      "Wipe only with a soft, dry cloth, made specifically for cleaning lenses."
