I’m not even joking - the relationship between the Warrens in the three Conjuring movies and Annabelle Comes Home is one of the most well done in movie history. They care for each other, they’re in-tune with each other’s feelings, they’re a great team with an equal balance of power, and their romance never gets in the way of the horror and vice versa. Also, it’s impressive how movies like the Conjuring or The Exorcist tend to incorporate the idea of things being a “hoax” or being caused by mental illness into the narrative. You would think that these horror movies would shy away from that but it takes real life criticism of “demonic possession” stories and turns it into realism that makes the movies even scarier.
@@paulelroy6650 it would be difficult to find another couple in movies that maintain a good relationship as a tag team against evil or engaging in exploration that survive multiple movies (4 and counting) and each movie add another layer to their bond. The story is based on a case that "actually" occurred roughly a 20 minute drive from where I live (to the point where I was able to identify the Hodgsons' school on sight). While nearly everyone agrees that the Enfield Poltergeist was ultimately a hoax, it's a testament to the media frenzy it caused that it ended up leaving quite a big impact on pop culture (it's probably the biggest claim to fame that my local area really has), as so many series and films have been made about it, most famously a highly controversial TV mockumentary called "Ghostwatch" that aired in the 1990s. On the subject of these two films, what really impresses me about them (you know, aside from the excellent direction and performances) is the fact that they have a startlingly low body count. With the exception of the dog in the first film, no one actually dies in either of these films, and yet they're still incredibly tense and frightening. It's a real testament to the high quality of these two films that they manage to properly scare you without having to pile up the corpses, and can rely solely on the atmosphere and your investment in these characters
Ghostwatch! yes! It's crazy to think that it has only appeared once on British TV. I first saw it in 2002 while in 6th form of my school (film studies & talking about horror) I was blown away by it. Since then I've looked into it countless times and even bought the DVD myself and watch it every Halloween haha. To see the amount of hysteria that it caused, is just mind blowing. A "modern take" on Orson Wells "War Of The Worlds" radio show. It's a shame that we don't get anything like that now.

This was the highest grossing Horror film of 2013, making over $300 million dollars against a $20 million dollar budget. It was also the influence for The Exorcist, The Amityville Horror, The Shining, and The Haunting 1999.
I assume you mean it was ‘influenced by’ not that it influenced those movies since a movie can’t influence movies that were released years or decades prior.

20:10 The most terrifying, heart stopping moment in this film. You're supposed to watch scary movies in the dark, maybe in very low light. During a rain storm would be cool. I watched "The Ring" in a drive-in near City of Industry next to a creepy train track. Perfect setting, still had a unsettling feeling after getting home.
There’s a couple of old cabins at this day camp I used to go to in my hometown that are absolutely PERFECT for watching horror movies in at night, they’re located right along the treeline of a forest. *chef’s kiss*
You MUST watch Annabelle for this Halloween please, it would literally mean the world to us my love. Horror genre is inside your heart now, we know it gurl.
Since u love Mr Wan's camera work. I would LOVE to see u react to Malignant. He stepped out of his "comfort zone" n took a risk in trying smth different. But i LOVE that movie n supported his new work! ALWAYS love ur reaction Ms Nici! Ur so funny!
Fun fact: The Crooked man man was played by Javier Botet, an actor with something called Marfan syndrome. It makes people taller and skinny. He played in various other movies such as, Mama - Mama 2013, Slender man - Slender man 2018, The Leper- IT/IT 2, and Mara - Mara - 2018.
Javier Botet plays the Crooked Man in "The Conjuring 2," and is a good-looking fellow out of costume. Botet's long limbs and slender frame are the result of him being born with Marfan Syndrome, according to Mental Floss, and make him a great fit to play tall and thin characters (he's 6'6" and weighs about 120 pounds).
The Conjuring - based on The Perron Family Haunting The Conjuring 2 - based on The Enfield Poltergeist The Conjuring 3 - based on The Devil Made Me Do It case (also known as the Trial of Arne Johnson)

Patrick Wilson has an amazing voice. You should definitely watch Phantom of the Opera. (2004) It would fit into the Halloween theme, if you have the time.

love your reaction!! Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga are two of the most incredible underrated actors working today they are amazing in these movies are you going to react to Conjuring 3 ?
No shot I would ever take my shoes off to walk into a flooded basement. Wet shoes is better than stepping on whatever might be underwater in a basement barefoot. That's scarier than a ghost
I love your videos so much! And if you ever need a break from horror this month (or next month) can please you react to Shrek 3, it’s not the best of the franchise but it’s still hilarious and has so many iconic moments!
I wonder if she would ever react to The Exorcist or The Rosemary’s Baby, right after she just saw The Conjuring and considering that James Wan got inspired from these classics.
You should do a movie reaction on Boyz N The Hood, all 3 Friday movies(Friday, Next Friday, and Friday After Next), Are We There Yet?, The Nutty Professor, Austin Powers, Rush Hour, Bad Boys, Mean Girls, Good Burger, Benchwarmers, Wreck-It Ralph, etc.
The man you recognized who played the the British investigator with the film crew was David Thewliss who played Professor Lupin in Harry Potter with a lot of makeup to make him look more like the real life man. (Giant prosthetic nose). You have to listen to his voice.

11:34. I sleep on my back and let me tell you, when I wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares, my hands are all curled up next to my face like a T-Rex and i'm ridged like a log. Friends have told me that they can't share a bed with me because I'm too scary. I scare myself tbh.
This actually happened and even went sorta' "viral" in the press back in the days. But wheather if it went down as a paranormal event and a possession is like 50/50, but "what if". Allthough the movies about Ed and Lorraines incidents are usually not as terrifying as it was in real life as it was considered too scary for mainstream. There are actual documentary's where you even get to see the actual Police report in black and white and even some audio recordings from the real possession for those who dare to check it out.
Ah, October... the time when I can watch Nici get continuously jump scared all month long. Gives me comfort and slightly sadistic pleasure knowing that I wasn't the only one having heart attacks during these movies...
I recomend so so so much the movie of THE KILLING OF A SACREED DEER, from yorgos Lanthimos, an amazing horror movie, with Collin Farrel and Nicole Kidman from 2018, i think is avaliable in Amazon Prime video
Not sure if you've seen The Amityville Horror, but the original movie is pretty decent. I'm very skeptical of the Warrens and their investigation there, but it's still a good old spooky time. The real house's weird eye-like windows are iconic, so that opening shot in this movie was kinda supposed to be a big "oooh we're HERE" moment for people who know about the Warrens irl and the Amityville house.
0:00 It surely is scarier than first part, but it always the real life that is the scariest. 4:25 "Based on true story". Basically the only true things are names of protags and the city of London (which may not be true either, cause there is big chance they filmed it in other city lol). 6:30 I mean why would it be different from the crappy store bought ones. It won't work either way. The issue is the invitation itself. It doesn't matter, if it is by using piece of cardboard or not. 7:20 One of the few instances when the real person behind character actually has been showed. Ed Warren aside his atrocities was known for his anger issues. Very last century toxic masculinity male. 11:40 What? How do you sleep then? It's literally just sleeping on your back, with proper support under your head and feet, potentially snuggling your blanket/teddy bear. That's not that strange as good chunk of people sleep like that. It's not as common as sleeping on your side, but it's healthier than the people who sleep on their belly. 12:00 Probably one of the worst parts of the movie, considering how strongly it borrows from Sixth Sense with the corridor tent. 15:00 Love the painting, love the shadow, love the hands. But it stops being scary for me when I see some random chick in nun costume holding a painting trying to run. It gives me Sister Act. I think the camera work should have obscured the akwardness of the scene more. 16:30 Fun fact - the real girls afterwards confirmed to stage it all, even if nowadays they do sometimes play like it was ghosts all along, probably for the press. 19:40 Yup the most illogical and stupid trope of any horror movie. It literally makes it as much holy as it was before. Its literally just St. Peter cross. 20:00 Knowing the plot of the movie - poor old man. He isn't even that scary, just old grandpa seeking help. 22:00 Any leg or foot injury and you will pray that monster took you down that water. Getting your leg amputated after getting an infection from moldy (probably sewage) water after stepping on something sharp? No thank you. He probably should have worn some less expensive clothes, but it is a movie. 25:45 Is she possessed? For me it looks clearly like a narcissistic personality staged perfectly as possesion. Nothing what happened to her was supernatural. Fun fact - real history behind is that, she actually was never seen being possessed - it always happened when she was alone in room. Also there was no demon nun and Warrens did almost nothing to the story (they were like small part of it all, but mostly used this afterwards as major publication for their work). There was supposedly a poltergeist that moved the items and the old man ghost that possessed the girl. Also there is no proof that the grandpa died in that chair, if there was a chair, if it was the same chair or spot or that mom died there. It could come from the daughters, but then again - there is no information about the old man really. Thus it was such bs add-on at the end. Universally it was fun horror movie. Real story ended after girls were exposed to fabricate whole thing and obviously Warrens were not so saint as depicted. Still don't get why the crooked man was even included.
Yea I heard sleeping on your back is the best position for your spine. I actually tried to do it for about a week but I just kept turning over so I gave up

I'd forgotten how scary The Conjuring 2 was! You were extremely brave. I'd love to see you watch Rocky Horror or Phantom Of the Paradise. Two perfect musicals for Halloween. I hope you and your fans have a happy and safe Halloween season!
“She saw something. After that she went up to her room and locked it. Didn’t talk, didn’t eat, didn’t sleep for 8 days.” - Ed Lorraine, The Conjuring.
The Nun showed her Ed’s death
That nun could be someone's sleep paralysis demon lol
You're supposed to watch scary movies in the dark, maybe in very low light. During a rain storm would be cool. I watched "The Ring" in a drive-in near City of Industry next to a creepy train track. Perfect setting, still had a unsettling feeling after getting home.
There’s a couple of old cabins at this day camp I used to go to in my hometown that are absolutely PERFECT for watching horror movies in at night, they’re located right along the treeline of a forest. *chef’s kiss*
ANNABELLE CREATION (the ONLY 100% rotten tomatoe reviewed horror ever!!!) (it’s the 2nd Annabelle) looking forward to it beautiful!
You MUST watch Annabelle for this Halloween please, it would literally mean the world to us my love.
Horror genre is inside your heart now, we know it gurl.
I would thoroughly enjoy watching your reaction to the "Evil Dead" remake (2013) 🙃
Since u love Mr Wan's camera work. I would LOVE to see u react to Malignant. He stepped out of his "comfort zone" n took a risk in trying smth different. But i LOVE that movie n supported his new work! ALWAYS love ur reaction Ms Nici! Ur so funny!
Keep an eye out on the channel…
The use of the support pillow is strong in this one XD
Btw the crooked man poem gave me more chills then the whole first film.
Need to watch The strangers and paranormal activity!!
The kids rooms are filled with posters of American pop culture. Yup, that's England in the 70's
Absolutely
Yeah he's awesome been in a few films! I still remember a contorsionist on AGT I absolutely shit myself lmao
The Conjuring - based on The Perron Family Haunting
The Conjuring 2 - based on The Enfield Poltergeist
The Conjuring 3 - based on The Devil Made Me Do It case (also known as the Trial of Arne Johnson)
I feel so bad for laughing when you scream and now I just wanna hug you. Can't wait for you to react to The Conjuring 3.
A TV remote? In England? In the 70s? That family was a lot richer then they made out! I never saw a remote until the 80s and that was connected to the VCR by a wire :)
A couple Korean horror recommendations: The Wailing and I Saw The Devil
The Wailing is SO good!
This is such a great horror film! Can't wait to see your reaction to Malignant...you're gonna have a blast!!
My time has come!!! God I love October. I hate seeing you so scared but I truly love it as well. I was only doing music reactions this time last year so I'm incredibly exited to dive in to my first October living movie reactions.
If you haven't seen them already I suggest these few off the top of my head. I think you would enjoy all 3.
Crimson Peak
Sweeney Todd
Mandy
This is my favorite James Wan film. I love horror movies, and while some are like junk food where they’re kinda stupid but also very fun and entertaining, The Conjuring 1 and especially 2 are like full, carefully made gourmet meals. I love it!
I love your reaction videos Nicki and I can't stop watching them and the funniest one you've done was your CATS movie reaction. That had me cracking up so hard lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha I hated that movie so much 😂
Gotta love how that woman says "I have proof" to explain away the damage in the kitchen, but it shows her breaking plates and not how the table and cabinets were smashed up
I love the crooked man. Btw, repeat the entire poem to yourself at night before the lights go out 😏
The pillow reminds me of
Donnie Darko. Good suggestion for October if you haven’t seen it.
Great videos 🤟🥩
Oh yes, DD is a must!!!
19:57 ok I'll agree this one had me bc I wasn't paying attention, had me just a weird feeling in my chest a cold feeling lol
Fun fact! In the scene where she is carving into her Bible. The name of them demon is the letters placed in the bookshelf next to her
Patrick Wilson has an amazing voice.
You should definitely watch Phantom of the Opera. (2004)
It would fit into the Halloween theme, if you have the time.
I looking forward to all the horror movies during this month but i always enjoy ur channel doesnt matter what u watch ❤💯
When you're saying "I can't handle this" and reaching for the bunny pillow, I try to find a way to describe why you are watching a full-on horror movie. Entertaining? Artistic appreciation? Please help me to understand why you put yourself through this.
i just love your content! and it makes me so happy to see your channel grow x
love your reaction!! Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga are two of the most incredible underrated actors working today they are amazing in these movies are you going to react to Conjuring 3 ?
please watch the Hunchback of Notre Dame it's one of my favourite Disney movies it's genuinely great man
Happy October Nics I Love Your Channel So Much Girl You Are The Best 🖤
7:11 I Also Like How James Wan Shoot Movies 👍👍
I would recommend watching the first Insidious before watching the second. I think you will find it helpful and feel less lost if you do.
She did.
No shot I would ever take my shoes off to walk into a flooded basement. Wet shoes is better than stepping on whatever might be underwater in a basement barefoot. That's scarier than a ghost
exactly what I thought!! +no way am I taking my pants off either lmaoo
I love your videos so much! And if you ever need a break from horror this month (or next month) can please you react to Shrek 3, it’s not the best of the franchise but it’s still hilarious and has so many iconic moments!
this movie was AMAZING!
I wonder if she would ever react to The Exorcist or The Rosemary’s Baby, right after she just saw The Conjuring and considering that James Wan got inspired from these classics.
i literally live 20 mins away from where it’s set and i’m traumatised just for that reason.
Bonus points for knowing The Bourne Identity and Mission Impossible Rogue Nation 😂🤘
The man you recognized who played the the British investigator with the film crew was David Thewliss who played Professor Lupin in Harry Potter with a lot of makeup to make him look more like the real life man. (Giant prosthetic nose). You have to listen to his voice.
Everyone seems to be doing scary movies in October but people keep leaving off “The Crow” which is an all time classic
Been on my watch list for ages!
Nics&Nacs it’ll not disappoint.
Well, The Crow isn't horror.
DanteRU0312 huh, premise of horror. Something dead, comes back alive, kills loads of people. Crow - dude dies, comes back to life and kills people. Lol
@@tvbenglishsongtranslations Okay then...if that's how you think horrors work.
Her “if you haven’t seen Billy Elliot watch it”
Me “ no, I don’t think I will”
i started sleeping on my back bc i read somewhere that it was better for your skin but can confirm its not comfortable & may cause weirder dreams
Love this movie even hough I'm scared at horror movies, but her subscribers count is 66.6k
Please do some horror movie reactions in the dark

Nici have you seen Malignant yet? Its easily my new favorite James Wan movie. Id love to see your reaction to it. Its so creative and insanely fun
Keep an eye out 😉
@@nicsandnacs oh hell yeah 😂
Imagine for two seconds that your bedroom is in the next door apartment to all of this... lol
A great comedy horror film you'll love, Tucker & Dale vs Evil!
🙂👍
Yes! I love horror film October season. Great reaction! 😎👍 Please add 1408 (2007) to your list. It's based on a Stephen King novel.
I wish to watch her reaction of Malignant of James Wan.
Ed and Lorraine's marriage in these films = all of my relationship goals.
It's not quite The Conjuring I but I really enjoyed it. Of course I live in Enfield so maybe I'm biased 🤓
stop ani motion claymation!
“Annabelle! You little b*tch!”
I cackled.
Haha if I ever do the Annabelle movie that’s what I’ll be calling her 😂
What I hate is the fact that the nun ruined such a good Christmas carol
You should really watch Sinister and Sinister 2. They are not to mess with. These films have amazing jumpscares and plot
Yea I heard sleeping on your back is the best position for your spine. I actually tried to do it for about a week but I just kept turning over so I gave up
"Oh no! The nun hands! Pillow!"
-Nics&Nacs
