    Marion, I often remove the mushroom stems before they’re soaked. Put those stems in a food processor, they will turned into mushroom powder which can be used in general cooking for flavour.

    I just tried this recipe. My fist time cooking an Asian meal and it came out WONDERFUL. PERFECT!! I doubled the recipe and ended up with a lot of sauce and I used lo mein noodles. I ate one serving and had to leave. I came home and went to bed thinking I was going to eat some more the next day. It was gone!!! I was so upset. GREAT RECIPE!!! THX

      Lol. In India.. if a recipe calls for a clove of garlic, we add 10😃. Asians cannot do without it.

      Same, both me and my husband are obsessed with garlic. 1 clove=whole head. Probably go through 5 heads a week :) (also about 2kg of onions and loaaads of chilies). He's Finnish and I'm Russian lol.

    This is one of my favourite dish since I was teenager. All that roasted pork, Roast Duck, and Char Siu. After 40 yrs, finally know how to make them myself, and impress my family. Thanks to generous people like you and many others sharing your “SECRET “ recipes, and all tips and tricks for food preparation. Many, many 👍🏻. 11:03pm, I’m so hungry watching your video.     I made this dish last night for a second time, just wow! Those flavors are everything! Its difficult to get Chinese broccoli up here in Wine Country (no Asian markets) so I substituted with broccolini. Nailed it! Thank you for sharing your recipes and techniques, Marion! #inspiration

    I just made this tonight, and it was so incredibly delicious! The chicken was so moist and juicy, and the sauce was amazing. I've also only just started coming around on mushrooms, never had shitake mushrooms until tonight - and they were so full of flavour! Thank you, Marian! Loved it!

    Made it for dinner tonight - delicious!!!! I reduced the liquid in a big wide pan after cooking the chicken so that it would be more concentrated and stick better to the noodles too!

    That looks sooooo good! Omg I need to make every noodle dish you make. So far I've made 3, not many but I live no where near an asian market. I have to go to another city, lol. If I buy fresh noodles, can I freeze them? And the veggies, can I freeze them as well? Like bok choy and herbs.

    I made this tonight.. simple and easy.. was delicious.. I love noodles.. and chicken together.. perfect combo.. I chopped up some cucumber and made it a spicy crunchy side.. my belly is full :)

    You're so wrong.... the stem of shiitake mushroom is so flavorful.... not only does it infuse its rich earthy aroma, it also gives a chewy texture with return of the sweetness of meat in it.... Love it especially in clay pot rice.... 🥰🥰🥰
    Well, I do mean the very top quality dried shiitake mushrooms.... Nothing goes to waste!!!!

    Awesome! Have made soy sauce chicken many times with rice but never thought to do it as a noodle dish! DUH! haha. This was delicious, 5 spice powder worked well in place of the whole spices. Also i sadly had no chili paste, but improvised with a little gochujang mixed with a small squeeze of ketchup! crazy, yes, but it worked so well!
