Did i snort-laugh when Mike said "More wine? Don't mind if i dooooo"? Well i didn't NOT snort-laugh. Live these videos. I'd love to do a trip like this, but I'd definitely need to work on mountain legs first!
Thanks for sharing another Wonderful ride through France Mikael. M&M peanuts great choice 👍 and the interior fridge shot creative.👌 I Love curry! Your curry dinner looks delicious, coconut milk really adds flavor. In my home country we add peanut butter, dish called Kari Kari.
I really like asian food. The dish I made in that video feels like a bit like cheating. When I'm at home I usually do my my cooking from scratch. But when you're out camping, you're allowed to cheat a little bit right? ;-)
Thank you Brian! Provence is beautiful. I was quite surprised when that greenway popped out of nowhere. I had done some pre-planning but totally missed it on Google Maps. But it was a welcome surprise, which meant I didn't have to navigate through that town.
Hey Mike, there was a bike shop right next door to the 'Casino' Mini Mart in Rousillion, where you bought the coconut milk... (Google maps is a wonderful thing.)
Sometimes you don't see the forest for all the trees. Well I had a pretty problem free tour, so the need for a bike shop at that time was not that great.
Great video Mike, I cycled along that Eurovelo 8 through Apt a couple of years ago, great cycle track as many are in France, they seem to go on for miles and usually a great surface as well. I started in Nice went north through Grasse but then went south of the Verdon gorge as I thought the narrow roads would have too much traffic on them in July.
Thanks Steve! You probably made the right choice. I wouldn't have been that comforable cycling there when I was there in June a couple of years, and I'm guessing July is a lot worse.
I have a solar panel, but I have stopped using it. Where I live in Sweden the sun is standing so low so it's just not giving off enough energy. And when I do my international touring it's usually during the spring or autumn, and the same problem occurs there as well. If I were to go to say France in the middle of summer I would definitely bring a solar charger. But otherwise I don't think it's worth bringing it. If I bring a powerbank or two, it will last me a couple of days before I need to stay at a campground to recharge.
Hello Mike, thank you for sharing your cycling trip in Southern France, this is really inspiring. Your tent looks really compact and light. Can you share more with your audience about your sleeping and cooking kit? Your first-hand experience is better than any of the (mainly fake) reviews that are posted on merchants' websites. Happy Cycling!
I will post a brief run-through of all my gear on Friday. I was planning on doing more in depth reviews during the tour but as usual I ran out of time. I guess it will have to wait until next summer. I much rather do my reviews in field than inside my house during winter.
Can you give me run of gear used down cost to travel how do you keep from getting tired do you have beliefs ? Thank you for all your videos Hope all is well with you and yours keep it up from Pacific northwest
Well Kelvin, you're in luck, since I did record a run-through of all of my gear. And that video is coming up on Friday. I haven't made a video regarding all the costs yet, but I usually do a video to sum up the tour once all the videos are published. So watch out for that video in a month or so. There is no easy answer to the question how I keep from getting tired, since I do get very tired. Usually once I've set up camp and made my dinner I watch some Netflix for half an hour before I fall to sleep. Hope that answered your questions. Have a good one! /Mike
Lovely area Mikael , those lavender fields would look wonderful to cycle through in the spring imagine the smell . Liking the cycle path , wish we had some of these . atb Dave
Greenways are awesome. Just the fact that you are able to pass a whole town without having to go through it and get lost in navigation. We have an impressive network of cycle paths where I live as well, so I guess I'm a bit spoiled in that manner.
Hej Mike, 2 dry days in a row, amazing. Crocs save the day again, I love them. Why do bugs fly into helmet vents all the time, I've had my head stung by wasps so many times. I loved the shot with your camera in the fridge, and your food always looks fantastic. Your bottle of red seems to be getting bigger and bigger (wine must be a lot cheaper in France than Sweden). Did you get to be Lucia this year?? Hope things are all good in Skelleftea. Looking forward to the next instalment, Ed
Truly one of life's biggest mysteries, why bugs get caught inside helmets. Yeah, wine is about half price in France compared to here. When in Rome, right? By the way, thanks a lot for the christmas card. Really appreciate it. I was planning on posting a returning card to you, but the custom cards we ordered a couple of weeks ago seem to have gone missing in the mail. So you'll probably recieve that card in January :-)
Hi Joe! Yes, most of the campgrounds were closed when I was there in mid-October. I would say the ratio was about 1 open to 3 closed. So it took a bit of investigating ahead of time, very similar to what I did before my trip in Catalonia.
@@BikeTouringMike sorry no slur intended, My Swedish is non existence and your English is excellent. Its just I love the way you Pronounce the J and G song like the Y sound. It makes your videos unique (for me) and endearing. I hope that's not offensive in any way. If so I apologise up front as I love your videos.
No worries! Usually Swedes are quite good at speaking English, but we never seem to get the J sounding right. I learned about this as an adult, and although I try to remember it, I keep messing up all the time. Chin and shin is also a typical way to spot a Sweden. 😉
For a map of the route, check the description.
Hi Mike thanks for the maps, they are very much appreciated :-) Paul

You’ve got a good eye for scenery Mikael. I enjoyed the video.
Thanks Daniel! Glad you liked it!
Great video. Your dinner looks pretty tasty :)
Nice video and ride Mike. Quite beautiful where you are riding. I like the dedicated bike path too.

Hey Mike great video again. Love France.
Thank you! I do too.
Nice one again. Yes, MORE WINE :-)
Yes, always more wine! :-)

Hi Mike wouldn't you get a solar panel attach it to your rack then at the end of the day charge you're cameras etc.

Mike, I noticed that a lot of the places you’re riding have very little cycle lane available, how did the locals treat you buzzing by in their cars?

What a pity you really fast right to close to us!
Hi, Mikael. Very entertaining video, thanks for sharing. How about a little more climbing in your next video? ;-)
Thanks Bruin! Haha, kind of like that old SNL sketch: "I think we need some more cowbell"
@@BikeTouringMike LOL! Exactly!

Love the accent
The Swedish one? ;-)

Creative camera position at 13:23 lol
Haha, that hidden camera in the freezer view. Yeah, that's a classic!
