Hello Mark when you lifted you splitter bean in the vertically position I noticed that you did not lock it in place, that is a very good way for you to get hurt. Look at 6 26 / 13 02, you put the pin back in the same place. That flat bottom plate must be on the ground, line you holes up and replace the long pin and then the keeper. I have the same splitter and you should be careful you don't get hurt. That bean and cylinder are very heavy. I now see you pulling the pin out from the upper location which tells me that you never locked your splitter in the up right position. Where the back of your splitter is, above the name Champion there is a bracket that you need to put the pin in and the keeper. You are lucky it did not flip down on you when you where bent over and hit you in the face.😮 See 11 50 / 13 02. 😮 I sure by now you have found this. Be Safe. 2/26/2022
Great safety reminder Stanley! Thanks for watching and watching out for my safety too!

Thanks for the video. The small log shelf on the operator side is mounted incorrectly. It needs to be flipped over and mounted on the underside of the rail. The surface will then be level with the ground then, which will allow large half-rounds get fully up against the rail when splitting. You also won't have to lift the logs as high when using the splitter horizontally.
Great observation! It was already put together when purchased.
Is it possible to move it by hand on a hilly bumpy terrain like in the woods without breaking your back? Thank you.
Not very far 😅
How many gallons of gas do you burn (approximately) to split a full one cord of wood to standard size for a larger wood stove that handles 16-20" logs? Just asking for your best guess to guage how much fuel it may burn per cord. Thank you.
That’s a good question. We just use this on our small property, but we have cut an entire 30 y/o pine tree and used a tank.
Just got one and it takes 10-12 pulls before it will fire.
Really? That has not been my experience
