came for the amp, stayed for flawlessly played Frusciante licks.
Did you sing the song as well though 🙂
This is still one of my favorite amp demos on youtube.
Great playing!
One of my favorite demos ever!
With this playing any amp will sound good :)
True story :)
This amp sounds truly incredible. I mean, the amp, player, and mic recording sound incredible. I’m still impressed with the tasty tones this little toaster is making. RUclips is a dangerous infomercial.
Amazing amp demonstration covering so many tones and using numerous guitar types. He need not speak a word as the guitaring tells it all. That amp is a monster. I must have you.
And... his playing was fantastic!!! No joke.
So much clarity in the sound.
My favorite video! Came to hear the amp but stayed for the flawless playing and zero talking :)
Dude best dig ever for the Zep tune. My fav of all time. Killer demo thanks for this.
This guy would make any amp sound good.
Superb. Both amp and playing. Some soul, brother.
My favorite tones came from when you played shook me all night long. Sounds like I could definitely get some good punk rock tones out of this amp. Thanks for playing a nice variety of music and guitars.
Great demo, awesome playing and song choice👍
I don’t even want this amp, i was looking for blues king 12 reviews. But damn that was some tasty playing
Same haha
The blues king 12 is awesome and pretty close to this.
@@auntjenifer7774 Close how? I can't decide between them.
“Superb” demo. Thank you.
I came here hoping to see if the smaller Supro could do Page too. Seeing it smash the tone of since I've been loving you absolutely sold it for me. Thanks for the great demo
That led zep tone is spot on
The Les Paul into that Supro is a match made in heaven...or hell depending on your fave band.
Thanks, Guitar Gear.
Great playing and great sounding amp! Seems like an awesome amp for studio and recording.
Wow. Serious playing
Timing, timing, timing!” Fantastic job! “Play with a metronome people.”
That is some EPIC playing my friend.
Great playing! Your touch and rhythm were absolutely on point. Do you still have this amp and if so does it see much play time. And would you recommend this over a Fender Blues Junior? Thanks! 🤘🏻✌🏻
Nice amp and really good playing!
Damn supros are beast, never really paid much attention to them till now
Same.
Listening to this, one might not know it’s a 5 watt amp with an 8 inch speaker. Huge sound. I’ve had one for 3 years and it’s a keeper.
Is it good for bedroom playing? I want an amp to play when I can not play loud
Thanks dude
I have one too. You can crank the input and lower the master for bedroom playing, but the secret sauce is in cranking the master to distort the little 8” speaker (when you’re live or in the studio)
Beautiful playing.
That “Paul is gorgeous!! Great tone too.
That guy went John Wick om those Guitars !
Love to hear this sort of superb demo of the Supro Blues King 12! Great playing!
Beautiful playing!
Excellent playing and great sound
that's a beautiful les paul. wow.
Best bedroom
Amp I’ve ever owned
topopops yeah? Not too boxy? I’m really tempted by that amp! Not missing the EQ knobs? Cheers
Yann Le Bars it’s an amazing amp.. obvs try to test it out. But owned so many bedrooms amps.. this things blows everything else out of the water.
topopops thanks for the feedback :)
I'm partial to 1606
Top class player and top class amp....
Thumbs down, really? Great amp and playing!!
Jason Casteel Some people’s sole purpose is life is to put others down.
Dude your covers are incredible
First, great playing. Second, great tone. Thanks for the video!!
great playing!!
Incredible playing!
Can we get amp settings used for these songs? What great tone, especially on SIBLY.
That Little Sister gee-tar is calling to me...
Fantastic playing man!!!
Playings very impressive!!
This guy could make a Gorilla amp sound awesome! great playing/guitarist. I have this amp, it is a bit pricy but it's well worth it, however I like the tone of my 1971 Champ I restored better, the Supro has amazing capabilities if you are into recording.....I can listen to this guy play guitar all day.
Outstanding job
Can I get a decent driven tone out of this at bedroom levels?
Cool demo, super playing! Can you relay if the head version is identical, or there are noticeable differences?
Love your guitar collection
Sounds killer man, great playing!
Can you get a decent drive tone at bedroom levels?
What MIC is that?! Is it even a mic or a portable recorder so curious.
little beast & great playing. I'll try to match him with bias amp.
Hello
How is the guitar connected to the amp?
because the input of the amp is on the top, and we see that the jack is connected behind
Do you use effects?
The sound is fabulous, amazing ...
Can you show a picture of the connection please?
thank you so much
It's possible he is using a wireless jack.
I just ordered one, to match my Ozark.
Great amp, great playing and very cool guitars.
Great video. Any pedals used?
As someone who owns this amp and also loves this demo of it, I can tell you that I cannot get these sounds out of this amp without either (1) cranking both the master and getting the gain high or (2) by putting an OD in front of it. The latter saves my ears and gets close. The boss OD3 seems to meld really well with this amp. As to the video, I don’t think Mr. Ochaion is using any OD in front. I think he’s cranking it. He also must have a decent quality mic in front though I have no idea what kind it is. Also, he’s a pretty phenomenal player with outstanding touch and dynamics. That might help. ;-)
I know no one is reading this, but it just occurred to me that the mic he's using is...a phone. It appears to be on a tripod/selfie stick and is clamped in. Wow. This kind of blows my mind that he's getting these kinds of tones. The other thing that occurs to me, in light of this discovery, is that he must not have the amp that cranked because phone mics can't really handle huge volume--from my experience. It would be really cool to get confirmation of this, but I think i'm right.
A year later, would you recommend the '64 Reverb? Considering it, but also considering bigger amps like the Blues Jr.
@@dustinglass Hi Dustin. The answer here depends highly on what you're looking to do with it and what sounds you're looking for. This amp probably does not sound that much like a Blues Jr.--it's got a more pronounced midrange snarl, especially with the gain cranked. I don't think a Blues Jr. is like a blackface fender (e.g., DRRI), but it probably is still more scooped than a supro. As a home practice amp, the supro is pretty good and handles pedals decently well. You can crank up the gain and keep the master down, but it will not sound as good as it does with the master up higher. At that level, however, it's quite loud. Most recently, I have been using it through a Suhr Reactive Load with IRs and absolutely loving it because I can keep the master cranked and set gain to taste. You really get the full sound and dynamics of the amp in this way and without crushing your ears/pissing off the fam. However, that's an additional $600 piece of gear--in addition to what the 1605R costs. For that much ($1,500+) you can get a ToneKing Gremlin, which has the built-in attenuator. Or, you can get a tube amp that has built-in reactive load and impulse responses. All in all, I would say for the price, you can probably get something more versatile than the 1605R. I still love it, but I'm also realistic.
@@The_Rodge Thanks for the detailed response!
What mic are you using? Sounds great 👍
I know, right? Listed every piece of gear down to the cable but no mic info.
It looks like an iPhone on a stand with the end pointed at the cab. Probably recording right to garage band with the built in mic.
Lovely !
sensationnel !
Yup, just what youtube needs; another schmo playing dad rock.
I'll have the opportunity to test a 1605R tomorrow at home... Over the remarkable facility of the player here and the quality of the demo, I'll see if I can retrieve that tone character, which is excellent ! All the Supro RI I tested (Saturn, Royal, and another one I do not remember the name) sounded deceptive to me... I mean : not at all like this one ! So great hopes... :)
How did you like the 1605R?
@@dustinglass : Excellent ! Fine for playing the famous "just dirty" Soul Rhythm guitar and "crunchy" Rock'n'Roll tunes. You call dial in Jazzy Smooth tones also, but don't expect crystal clean nor HiGain... I Have one now and it's a keeper if you like that kind of tone.
3:09 your string is so solid and super big bend😳
Wow 👍
Amazing !! :)
What you don't hear on this video is how boxy this amp sounds IRL. I mean VERY boxy. Still I like mine, but I end up using it with a larger cab and it sounds great. Nice playing btw.
Doc Loco so would you say race this wouldn’t be the amp to buy if I just wanted something small to practice with?? Maybe a tweed fender blues jr instead? Playing with a les Paul custom
@@xCoolUsername I wouldn't say that, and I have to add that avoiding putting the amp on the ground helps with the boxy side. Still, no miracle with such a tiny (and very crowdy!) cab. This is a good amp, and I prefer it to the BJ, but keep in mind that despite the master volume, it sounds better with the volume nearly dimed (most demo's are done with this setting btw). And it's loud.
Have you ever used it live, such as miked or line out to board and the amp itself as your stage monitor? I play a Princeton live and in smaller venues still occasionally get asked to turn it down. I’m interested in this amp for that purpose (as well as home practice)
Which cab are you using with yours? Speaker specs please.
nicero870 you can use the line out on this to manage front of house volumes. This has an 8” speaker and it’s meant to be Uber portable, with a lot of options. I love mine and use it for practices and recording. We’ve used it live but it got a bit lost - not mic’d. Best small amp I’ve played
Have you got any pedals on that?
Whats the difference between the 1605R and 1605RJ?
Nice tunes, Fantastic licks. Too expensive tho.
What is that natural semi hollow with the p-90’s
is this all without pedals?
6:41
This amp is nasty. Just got 1. Perfect.
Are you still happy with the Supro 1605R?
@@dustinglass I sold it. It needs a 10" inch speaker and it would be perfect
@@dxfordummies Curious how something like the 10" Amulet compares with it.
@@dustinglass It was a cool amp but I never played it
Any pedals used here ?
Was this seriously made without any effects pedals?
artist !!! Who is he?
Kfir Ochaion, I believe.
does anyone know if pedals are used in this video? I have this amp and it doesn't break up like this... I have a pedal board, but was under the impression that this amp sounded like this out of the box.
I have this amp and it sounds exactly like most of the tracks he's playing, especially the Hendrix and blues ones. The reverb is all the amp, huge but never swamps the original sound. There are times he's using a boost or overdrive/distortion pedal. Have you tried turning the gain and the master up to full? It's really loud, but cranks up beautifully, especially if you have louder pickups. Try a boost pedal if not. You won't get any nice overdrive without the master up :) This is the best amp for bedroom practicing and you can also jam with drums, if you're ok with it overdriving.
@@bartelsmore6285 Hi, I just got mine recently, I feel like this amp will break like video does but not in low master volume, I was hoping it will break in relatively low volume. And did you try to use mix out and the power amp in as a effect loop?
SOLD!
Great playing, sounds great, maybe a little commentary on opinions/thoughts about the amp instead just playing might be more helpful, cheers.
Which Supro has the attenuator switch on top? It’s a blue one. Thanks in advance.
probably the 6420+ Thunderbolt plus ,but thats a rectifier mode switch enables u to choose from 30/45/60 watt mode
👍👍👍
57 Custom Fender Champ or This amp?
TheXConor both! The champ is unbelievable but this has verb. Show up to a bar gig and crank them both should be about the perfect volume!
@@okaytastic6691 Curious about this as well. It's easy enough to put a reverb pedal in front of a Champ.
...I've been working from seven...
You look like an older version of Jayson Tatum lol
I was hoping you'd talk about the amp a bit. But all I got was a lot of great playing. Still know almost nothing about the amp. Next video please.
Seriously, dude? There are 100 places you can learn about this amp. But this is one of the very best videos made that plays through the whole gamut of its tones so you can actually HEAR it.
Kfiro are you self-thought guitar player?
Filip P *Deep
Kfir is that you? :v
manuel clm 23 right? I’m so confused.
manuel clm 23 it doesn’t say his name anywhere
Of course it's him.
I really like your channel, but can you use a non beat up strat just for once?
It sounds great. Go away.
@@brucenlittlepictures He uses beautiful Les Paul's that are flawless. Every Fender he uses looks like it was dragged around in the dirt. I'm not hating. Yes his tone is amazing. Just saying my guitar doesn't look like that, and I have used it with gigs for 15 years.
Dude, that's how they are made, lol! If you care about the look, you're not a guitarist just yet. Keep up the work and you'll get there :)
@@lanceburnett27 You obviously are not a guitarist. Just a stuck up piece of shit with more money than brains
@@BloodFireDoom please shut the fuck up...
Let people enjoy things.
A lot of money for a eight inch speaker
yeah, but made in NYC, USA )
Long Island NY. Port Jefferson.
The 8" is necessary to get that great tone. As to the cost? Apparently just as necessary.
20 K thousand dollars in guitars...900 dollar aMP.....play some regular mexican teles squires etc.
