I love my supro super 1606 but I did have tube rattle. And I heard it slightly at 6:45. I eventually separated the amp from the speaker and it has fixed it. I never tried tube bands that can suppress the rattle but I assume those work too. Great amp just be aware of that the tubes are facing toward the speaker in a tight space so if you are picky you’ll have to find a solution to fight the tube rattle.
these really are great videos. the guitar guy is at a Mike Campbell level of RnR gtr playing and the sound & video production is really clean. I just ordered the 1605R. hope it sounds as good as the 1606. already have Supro Keeley 1970R (25wt/10”spkr). it’s like a great Vox meets Fender. I’m old and ‘my sound is no bigger than my back’. I have high hopes for the small (and lite) 1605R.
Awesome vid as ever! Q: how loud does it stay clean before it’s starts breaking? Enough to use clean in a live gig? (Small gig of course.. day a pub with 50 ppl)
my two cents: having played a 5 watt tube amp in a house (not the same design, so the loudness may vary), tube amps even at 5 watts can get VERY loud, even annoy the next door neighbors loud... but in a room full of a bunch of people talking and drinking + other instruments? might need mic/ p.a. setup so as not to be drowned out.
Hi Mike - Amp sounds awesome (as is your playing).... Can you tell me how the 1605R does at lower volumes using the master? Can seem to find a definitive answer and I cannot demo where I live unfortunately Thanks a bunch
I have a Gretsch6152 with an oval speaker that’s like 5x11 or some shit. The speaker is terrible but that thing run through my Marshall 412 with an overdrive is fucking tits. It’s a little monster.
That harmonica bend lick is bad ass!
NEVER heard anyone else do that!
When you hear an amp demo and say, "Wow, who is that player?", he's doing it right! Love Supro too.

They just really sound really nice.
I've been considering getting a 1606, and this demo sealed the deal. Thanks for this!
Did you got one ? And if so, did you like it ?
@@ATreeForFive Sure did, and I love it.
@@BonesJonus is it good for home use?
Love that tune. Great version

So few things in this world are as consistent as your KICK ASS videos! Not even buying much anymore, just tune in to see you KILL IT!
Agree
Amen to that!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Juju was a nice touch.. 👌
Beautiful sound and beautiful, tasty playing!
Custard Pie
Chris Saintmire thanks!
those bends at 1:30!!
What's that sound at 3:14? Sounds like a Ring Mod almost for a split second?
it sounds like a brief atonal interval which can have a weird effect on your ear similar to a chorus or r.modulator.
that's a ballsy move at 1:04 bro! way to not fall off the fretboard! :O
john tone I think I did a little
Mike Hermans 😂🤣😜 maybe once. But it was "on purpose". It's cool to see guitarists live dangerously! Long may you live!
definitely worth the risk though..those faux harmonica tones are soul city.
How do you compare this one with the 2x12 1650rt royal reverb?
Hi Mike, which mic and mic pre are you using for this video? Cheers from India
Early Zeppelin amp!
Frederick Pfeiffer the Super (one knob) sounds amazing on 10. Pretty loud for a bedroom
Awesome vid as ever!

$699 for a 5-watt amp with an 8-inch speaker. People will fall for fucking anything. BUT IT SAYS SUPRO ON IT, GUYS!!!!
