    Hello Sir, Very informative video. Will a USA citizen with OCI studying in India for last 10 years straight (from 3rd standard all the way till 12th standard) be eligible for DASA? Or should the student have studied in a foreign country once in the last 8 years to be eligible for DASA?

    I am Nepal citizen and completed my 11 - 12 from india with 65% in 2023 and also took a drop year for JEE , but didnt socre good . Can i apply for DASA and get a good collge through it ?

    • @ALLENOverseas
      @ALLENOverseas  5 месяцев назад

      Dear Arshu,
      Thank you for your query.
      With a score of 65%, you are eligible to apply for DASA, provided you meet the other eligibility criteria as well. However, securing a seat in a good college depends on your DASA rank.
      Since you haven't scored well in JEE Main 2024 (Session 1), we recommend giving your best effort in JEE Main 2024 (Session 2). Maybe you can improve your score. Afterwards, you can use your DASA rank to secure a seat in a good engineering college in India.
      We hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

      Dear Sasikala,
      Thank you for your query.
      You can fill out your choices for DASA college-wise. You can also fill out the same college but with a different branch. Sometimes, candidates don't get a desired seat in the CSE branch, but they get a seat in the same college with another branch.
      So, you can fill out your choices according to your preferences. It would be great to prioritise the college and then choose single or multiple branches as per your interest.

    so if i take admission in iiit pune then do i have to pay extra tution fees other than those 32000$ ?

    • @ALLENOverseas
      @ALLENOverseas  8 месяцев назад +1

      Dear @AIMJEE,
      As per the DASA guidelines, these fees are just applicable for NITs, not IIITs and CFTIs. There will be some differences in these fees according to the colleges, but yes, $4000 is compulsory and covers the first semester.
      In your case, if you get accepted into an NIT, that's great! However, if you are placed at IIIT Pune, their semester fee may differ. If it's higher than $4000, the college will then ask you for the remaining fees as per their fee structure.
      If any IIIT or CFTI college's semester fee is less than $4000, the difference will be refunded.
      *One more thing about IIIT Pune:*
      Their semester fees (branch-wise) and hostel fees may change year on year. For more information, please visit its official website. - www.iiitp.ac.in/

      Aspiring candidates can appear for JEE Mains 6 times in 3 consecutive years. NTA (National Testing Agency) has mentioned that in JEE Main eligibility candidates appearing for Class 12th and qualified the same in the last 2 years are eligible to appear for JEE Main. It applies to all the JEE Main aspirants including students from Gulf.

    Do OCI count as foreign nationals or Indian nationals?

    • @ALLENOverseas
      @ALLENOverseas  9 месяцев назад +1

      Dear @profjames132,
      OCI is a different category. If you're filling out the JEE Forms, you can directly choose the OCI/PIO category. There will be these 3 options - Indian Nationals, OCI/PIO, and Foreign.
      We would also like to share some important information for your reference -
      *Person of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI):*
      "Persons of Indian Origin" (PIOs) shall mean the persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or who or either of his/her parents or any of his/her grandparents was a citizen of India by virtue of provisions of the Constitution of India or Section 2 (B) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of 1955).
      Applicants are required to provide documentary evidence towards proof of Indian nationality or Indian origin. To apply under the category “Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)” applicants must submit proof of Indian origin, preferably a valid PIO card or OCI card for the applicant or his/her parents, issued by the Government of India.
      We hope it was helpful. For more updates, please stay tuned with us :)

      Based on last year's data, you are not eligible for CIWG because you did not complete 10+2 level education (or its equivalent) outside of India. However, please wait for the official DASA 2024 brochure to confirm the current eligibility requirements.

      Yes, you are eligible to apply under the Foreign category.
      If you are a citizen of Nepal and do not have a passport, you will need to submit a copy of an Authenticated Citizenship Card. It is important to stay updated with the eligibility criteria from the DASA UG brochure when you apply for counselling, as the rules may change and also you can connect with DASA Officials.

      Hi Divyash,
      Thank you for your query.
      Based on last year's data, it's very difficult to get into core branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, and Computer Science. However, you might have better luck with other branches such as Mining, Materials, and Production.
      We recommend that you decide on your priorities first. This will help you determine which branch is most important to you.
      Here are three of the top NITs to consider:
      1) NIT Trichy
      2) NIT Surathkal
      3) NIT Rourkela
      It's important to note that these rankings can change year-to-year, so be sure to do your own research before making a final decision.

      The fee structure for DASA and CIWG candidates is different. You will need to pay a registration fee and a first semester payment. The specific amounts are as follows:
      *a)* DASA registration fee: $300
      DASA first semester payment: $4000 (non-SAARC) / $2000 (SAARC)
      *b)* CIWG registration fee: $300
      CIWG first semester payment: $758
      However, we have already covered the fee structure in this video:

    • @ALLENOverseas
      @ALLENOverseas  6 месяцев назад +1

      Dear @ahemaduddin4167 ,
      Thank you for your query.
      No, you wouldn't need to pay $600 for registration if you want to apply for both DASA and CIWG.
      Here's why:
      *Both DASA and CIWG share the same registration fee:*
      The registration fee for both DASA (SAARC and Non-SAARC) and CIWG is the same, currently at $300. You only pay this fee once, regardless of applying to one or both schemes.
      *Separate schemes:*
      DASA and CIWG are separate schemes with different fee structures. Applying to both doesn't mean double registration fees.
      Therefore, you would only need to pay $300 for registration, even if you apply to both DASA and CIWG.

    Hi sir is there any condition for the 10% supernumerary seats in iits does it makes foreign candidates
    admission easier,last year even though we had an supernumerary seats we had to get more than closing rank than cutoff for general ,i am from Nepal and currently in 12th will give jee 2024 ,please tell

    • @ALLENOverseas
      @ALLENOverseas  Год назад +1

      Dear Avinash,
      Thank you for your message.
      Let us explain,
      *1)* The seats are only available for foreign nationals who have studied abroad or have studied at the 10+2 level or equivalent in a foreign country.
      *2)* The seats are subject to the same academic requirements as the regular seats, and foreign candidates must still meet the cut-off for the general category.
      However, the 10% supernumerary seats do make it easier for foreign candidates to get admission to IITs, as they do not have to compete with Indian nationals for the limited number of regular seats. In 2022, the closing rank for the 10% supernumerary seats was much lower than the closing rank for the regular seats.
      As a foreign candidate from Nepal, you will be eligible for the 10% supernumerary seats if you meet the above conditions. However, you will still need to score well in JEE Advanced in order to be considered for admission. The closing rank for the 10% supernumerary seats will vary from year to year, so it is important to keep track of the trends and to aim for a high score.
      For more updates, please stay tuned with us :)
