    What about NITs and IIITs thru DASA ? Can OCI who has completed 12th from India apply thru DASA with Jee mains score ?

    • @naumiaparanji
      @naumiaparanji  2 года назад

      Yes, you can! I could have gotten into NIT Surathkal's Artificial Intelligence course with my JEE Main rank; I checked later on their website. But keep in mind the fees through DASA is 2-3 times more than Indian students' fees
      IIITs also accept DASA but IIIT Hyderabad has an independent portal and the deadline for it is different so make sure to check that.

    Had your parents registered your birth at the Indian embassy or consulate in the US within 12 months of your birth, you could have been a dual citizen (which is allowed for those born abroad to Indian parents till they are 18, and if they don't renounce the foreign citizen within 6 months of turning 18, the Indian citizenship automatically ceases) which opens up much more avenues and makes life much easier administratively.

    I'm an OCI NEET aspirant too. This year, they completely removed us from the general counselling and only made us eligible for the foreign seats. There are only 7 foreign seats in aiims delhi and 5 in AMU. the rest are all private and super expensive.
    I had gotten an all India rank of 324. Fortunately, this was enough to get aiims d. But the rest of the foreign nationals now have to pay a lot just to get into a mediocre college

    Hi,
    Really loved the information you gave and congratulations!
    I have a question. So an OCI holder/foreign national competes with another foreign national/OCI or it is like I need to get a rank equivalent to GEN category among the foreign nationals?
    Thanks

    I have some questions if you can please share your views on:
    -->Did you apply for both Josaa and Dasa ?
    -->does non saarc mean that you completed 12th in non saarc countries , or you are a citizen of a non saarc one
    --> which is more costly for btech : dasa or a us university?
    Hey , Your video is like an oasis in a desert for dasa students , so much insight which I wouldn't have attained otherwise.

      Hello,
      1. I only applied through JOSAA
      2. I am a citizen of USA; completed my 12th in india
      3. I would say a US university is costlier but if you manage to secure full-ride scholarships, you can make studying in the US cheaper than in India!
      hope that helped! :)

    Hi Naumi, your video expained all your study journey, i have gone though your next video aswell, you have cleraed many of my doubts, i could not find anyother video like this for PIO student in youtube, my daughter is also US citizen and came back from US when she was 6 months old, got PIO then OCI card, studies completed from 1 to 11 grade (got marks in 1st year 461/470), now she is in 12th grade at Narayana college, She is a good student but may not get in iits, based on her scores in the college exams, we are hoping to get jee mains rank below 50 thousand. But with this rank may not get good college here for CSE in good NITs or she may get maximum good local college with jee mains rank in Hydearabad.
    1. Do suggest in this senario, applying US colleges is better?
    2. She is not written any SAT exams as of now and not prepared as well.
    3. Being a girl did you face any chalenge in US for your undergrad.
    4. Do you suggest coming to US for undergard is btter or after completing batchlers she can go to US being a US citizen.
    5. Is there much advantage in jobs when you do undergadute at US.
    Your reply and suggestion is highly appreciated since you have crossed all this stages and you are in a better position to judge the senarios.
    Thank you and god bless you

    First of all, Thank you so much for posting this, really helps as an OCI student (Non Saarc) in the same situation.
    + I would like to ask, if you had a choice to go for NIT T/K/W CSE through DASA or still go Abroad, would you have taken it and if yes then which one would you had prefer?

    • @shivshankar53
      @shivshankar53 2 года назад

      I do have the same question, would be really good if we could get answer to this. I understand DASA would be costlier by 3 times compare to normal engineering fees in India, but going abroad would be even much more costlier. Would not be a good option to do BTech in India by DASA and then go Abroad for Masters ?

    • @naumiaparanji
      @naumiaparanji  2 года назад +1

      @@shivshankar53 I agree. As long as Btech abroad is affordable abroad through scholarships/full rides, go for it. Otherwise, going through DASA would make more sense, even with the 3 times fees. You can always go abroad for masters/PhD/research

      @@sagarpowar Hi Sagar...I am in fact asking these questions..in this forum :-) However, apparently the answer to your question looks like...OCI with schooling done in India need to first go through JEE Main...and then through DASA for entry in NIT....for them entry in NIT through JOSAA may not be possible.

    This is indiscrimination and should be challenged to apex level, you should come on TV and explain the apathy. Even my son is born in US and from yr1 till yrs 17 he will be studying continuously in India . But he cant go for MHT-CET & has to apply to university based on his 12th score. Forced to take admission in Eng colleges with high fees. why should the be when he is studying in india from 17 yrs and father is getting indian salary and paying taxes in India.
