    In the previous video I walked you through the diagnosis of a crank no start on this 2012 6.7 Diesel. We diagnosed it with having a failed high pressure CP4 Pump which glitter bombed the fuel system. In this video I walk you through the process of replacing this fuel system, if you do not do this repair correctly you can damage the engine or even have to redo this repair. It is imperative that you do this repair CORRECTLY. Come with me and I will walk you through it.

    Dude great content ! I’m the youngest in my shop at 23 and I’m pretty much the guy all the diesels go to and I wanna learn more about them and the repairs involved which I know a decent amount mainly basics and after watching this I feel very confident in doing the repair if I ever have to. Question tho, what are symptoms or how do you check if this is what’s wrong with these 6.7 power strikes ? Like what are obvious signs the cp4 took a shit that I would need to look for if you have a video on that. Thank you

    • @NutsandBoltswithTone
      @NutsandBoltswithTone  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you very much I appreciate that, and I am sure you are gonna kill it with the diesels. First thing you will find is usually a code associated with low fuel pressure. Then remove the fuel filters and look for metal. Then the final way is to remove intakes and low pressure fuel lines from high pressure pump and look for glitter. Here is a video on the diagnosis for that repair video you watched. It is part one to that one. Hit me up on Instagram if you need any help. Thanks for watching.

    We found a way to remove the EGR cooler without removing that tube where the bolt breaks in the head. Remove battery and air filter. Remove PCM. Put drain pan in that corner. Remove the two bolts on the top side. Everything removed like normal. Remove the cooler to the passenger side toward the pan. Stay out of the splash zone. Few extra steps. But better than breaking a bolt

    What a great and difficult video to make. I just heard today that I have to replace my fuel system due to some bad fuel. I wanted to see what it consisted of. Too much work for me. How often does this happen in your opinion? I only have 39 k miles and this seems insane to me.

    • @NutsandBoltswithTone
      @NutsandBoltswithTone  2 года назад

      Thank you for the compliment. It happens but there are a lot of these trucks on the road. A huge part of it is not changing fuel filters frequent enough. also using inadequate filters that do not filter properly. Sometimes just get unlucky and the pump grenades even if you are taking care of your truck. You can get a kit put on that will prevent the whole system from having to be replaced if the pump does fail. I cant believe you have to have your fuel system from bad fuel. What symptoms are you having? Please message me back on instagram. I would love to continue chatting. Thank you for watching.

      I have a 2016 with 71k. I was worried to death that my cp4 was going to blow up. I hedged my bets and installed an Air Dog lift pump for water separation and additional filtration. Then I installed the S&S Diesel 4.2 disaster prevention kit, so if my cp4 does blow up, I don't have to replace anything on the high pressure side (rails, lines, injectors, etc). On top of all of that I also religiously run quality diesel additive at every single fill up (Opti Lube XDP and Hot Shots EDT are the two best out there based upon my hours and hours of research). Within the last 24hrs S&S Diesel released a drop-in high pressure fuel pump that replaces the cp4. Pump only runs $2000. Far better than then $8000-$10000 repair in the case your cp4 blows up.

    Ive got a 2015 Ford 6.7 that keeps blowing off the injector return lines off. At some point the original owner put def in the diesel. I've changed all the filter and I was able to drive 10k with no problems. Now the injector return lines keep blowing off. I've replace the harness twice with no luck. I was curious if you think I should just replace the injectors or do the whole disaster kit?

    • @NutsandBoltswithTone
      @NutsandBoltswithTone  Год назад

      If def was put into the fuel then the fuel system could have internal issues. Def is corrosive. If I got a truck that had def put in fuel and it was started it would get an entire fuel system and disaster prevention kit. Message me on Instagram and I can help you out. Thanks for watching

  • @ivanguillen1824
    @ivanguillen1824 Год назад +1

    What happens if you don’t reprogram fuel injectors? I did a contamination kit on a 2020 6,7 everything new from the dealer and at first it took like 5 seconds to fire it was working smooth for like 40 secs then it started to hesitate like rough idle

    • @NutsandBoltswithTone
      @NutsandBoltswithTone  Год назад

      If you are just replacing them and do not program them then the truck will just not run right because it needs those specific codes. If you replace a pcm then it will set a check engine light for it. Thank you for watching

    I have a 2017 ford f350 the runs but on the dash it indicates low fuel pressure, reduced engine power and gives the p0093. The truck shuts off at least 2x a week. The ford dealership recommends a fuel contamination kit. The truck wasnt running after def was mixed with the diesel, until i changed the fuel regulator and the truck begun to run again. Ive been hauling for almost 1.5 months but the trucks shuts off at 2x a weeks. Can someone help me with issue?
