  • We love driving in Belize, the highways are great to drive. Well sign posted and laid out. The country is so picturesque that everywhere you look is a image of beauty. The people always ready to help out if needed and good food can be food along all of the roads in small road side vendors along with fresh juices and fresh veg at every little hamlet.. Do not over look the simple pleasure of driving in this country and finding a river to sit beside and have a picnic .. it will recharge your batteries .. strange animals and incredible birds everywhere .. each of our videos is just a mere glimpse as to what this country and its people have to offer.. come visit ..return often ..

Johnny Cakes are nothing more than breakfast biscuits Dr. Mucker. It is basically the exact same thing here in the U.S.Just remember, Belize is/ was a British/ Scottish Settlement and later colony. Thanks so much for all your wonderful videos. I truly appreciate your great work.

Belize is one of the coolest place you can live. Of great concern is the rising crime rate, which is low when compared to many of our neighbors. But you can get this with a large under 30 age group and high unemployment numbers and many other factors which I do not care to discuss at the moment. But a local once made this comment to me. " Anyone whom complains that they cannot find a job in Belize is a liar, because how come the immigrants find jobs ". " It is because they are lazy or want big money " . These were his exact words. Belize today is perhaps 50 percent immigrants or more.

Doc, you would not believe what watermelons cost here in the Northeast U.S.A. They are not cheap either. There are certain fruits and veggies in New England for which the prices are quite high, such as Broccoli Sprouts and Asparagus.

last year we were going to go to Black Pearl Harly and rent one for a few days but while we were in Punta Gorda I fell down a flight of stairs and opened up both knees so no riding at all barely able to go to any of the ruins.. but next year while we are down I think I will have to ride the Hummingbird hwy rather than drive but we will see ..

Can you tell me, is Belize a safe place outside Belize City, and is driving generally safe too? I have done a road trip in Costa Rica (fab safe place), and Cuba - also fab and safe, but didn't allow sat nav or give us a proper map, (getting lost was so much fun though). Can you drive down from Mexico, Yucatan/Cancun area with a hire car? A lot of questions, sorry, but we would really like to go round Yucatan Mayo areas, and into Belize.

Belize has become very unsafe. Crime rate up due to poverty. Tourist are being robbed and sometimes killed. You are better of going to tikal, florez san Salvador and Costa Rica. Belize is not what it was use to. Stay away. I'm belizean born on the southern border. I will not go back.

Yes you can, find a driver recommended by the AAA of Mexico, they insure that their licensed drivers are well familiar with areas considered code "red areas" of concern. This drivers know the best routes in and out.

In BELIZEAN, the 2nd "g" in a word is pronounced with a "j" sound. Only kidding but in the case of Dangriga that rule happens to work. I was just there for 6 days and I worked very hard to pronounce that name correctly. (My server at the resort lives in Dangriga.)
