  • Come along for a tour of the latest vintage cars I have added to my 50,000 car collection... these beautiful perfectly proportioned 1/64 scale diecast metal cars were made by Ertl between the years of 2000 and 2001... that was a while ago now! They all feature rubber tires, solid metal construction, realistic details, engines, opening hoods and trunks, and a host of other details not commonly found on this size of collectible car. Choose which car you want to watch and explore all the details from the menu in the start of the video. Comment, Like, Subscribe, if you please! Thank you for watching!

Ertl makes the finest classic cars in diecast IMHO. Opening trunk and hoods are what puts them above the rest. Separate details on the undersides are just a bonus!

This was an awesome series , i pick them up whenever i can find them. The "new" racing champions '65 GTO is actually one of these castings - still has ERTL on the chassis. Really hoping RC brings all of them back for us.

I've heard of ERTL before, but this is probably the first time i've seen these up close.
These cars have incredible details for the price they cost.
Great presentation, although i don't know why the picture gets so much distortion throughout the close-ups.I almost thought someone put some curious substances in my beverage :) But this was great to watch overall.

I had a couple of ERTL models when I was younger...a lot of detail....damn so much detail on a 1/64....I know these cars cost a arm and a leg...30 to possibly a 100 dollars....depending on the make and model....probably even more on E bay and Amazon...I like the information on the cards...I am a muscle head ...especially when it comes to GM makes and models from the 50's to the 80's....thanks for sharing those incredible diecast cars!

The impala has a 409 in it. You can tell by the shape of the heads and valve covers. Awesome! The Plymouth belvedere Christine is spectacular! All are very well done. Excellent video!

What a stunning presentation of 1:64 scale die cast awesomeness! Ertl Collectibles shows what is possible in this scale at an affordable price point and most of all, amazing loose cars! My favorite of this video was the '65 Pontiac GTO hands down :-)

A lot of great stuff out right now in the 64 scale, if only m2 and auto world would license some imports, they'd skyrocket to the next level

Mate, those are really incredible castings. I was thinking about how difficult some of those shapes must have been to cast. I am blown away by the details and number of parts. The use of the plastic head-light and tail-light pieces was amazing. Being a bit of a cardboard collector, I loved the vintage card art and info. Thanks for putting together this video for us to see = )

Awesome collection, never knew how much detail these 1:64 have, I collect 1:18 ,but this has given me much greater appreciation for the smaller scale. They are at the fraction of the price. I purchased quite a few as of recent from Costco for $14, where as they run $20+ at other retailers. Super nice collections. Very nice setup in the basement for sure. I myself is 53yrs old and will continue collecting till the end.
    Thanks for sharing...

Really cool models! Nowadays, Ertl seems to specalize in farm and construction vehicles, as well as big trucks. I'm that collector who likes to have a bit of everything, from modern supercars/hypercars to old school American muscle to old trucks to new trucks and so on. I got to know and appreciate a number of vehicles through this hobby. I always keep an eye out for interesting stuff!

1/64 AM series was Ertl's last hail mary to save themselves. Too much, too late for what was once a great diecast company. Sad, but we're left with a line of the best 1/64 diecast produced up to that date (IMO Castline picked up where Ertl left off). For me the star of that lineup was the '60 Starliner in blue/white. Look carefully at the top: It's a one-piece clear plastic mold that was then taped and vacu-form chromed at the pillars and *then* painted white over the roof. Its integration into the diecast body is seamless. Just an incredible bit of engineering at that scale; I wish someone could get an interview with the designers of the AM line.
Anyway, thank you for exposing these cars to more collectors. It's almost criminal how underappreciated they are.

I feel like revisiting this collection of castings after reading your observations on the quality... it truly was a beautiful run of scale cars. I also like M2 castline, they are doing a nice job with opening parts and chrome trim on their models.

Retrospective videos would be an interesting idea, revisiting old car lines covered in your older videos with a current perspective on the cars. Could be a good filler for when it's a dry video season too. @@wtffor

You said or in your description you put down that you had a 65 ford galaxie and I watched your video and didn't see any 65 ford galaxie! The 1965 ford galaxie 500 XL it's a super rare casting to find in any size that's the only reason that I watch your video! Thanks for the video!

Take notes kiddys tease are the hidden gems only found buy a skilled eBay picker lol . IF there is such a thing lol. Awesome score O-Dawg .Tease Ertl cars are super nice . Super happy with the realistic new era cars . M2, Green light , Auto World so on . I just hope they come out with new Highly Realistic castings . Yes we love Camaro , Challengers, GTOs , . I think the car scene and normal car buying has gone away from American cars . Let's see Highly Realistic , BMW M3, let's see Subaru WRX, EVOs, Hondas , 60s70s era Japanese, European cars that we all own or have owned. Take diecast into the next generation with Highly Detailed modes not that bubble gum cartoon mid 2000s stuff. Sorry for the book hope this reaches someone lol . Thanks for more great content O_Dawg

A daily drivers series (regular cars that everyone owns or relates to) would be great for diorama makers (a street would look more realistic with Honda Accords and Toyota camrys than it would with Mustangs and Camaros)

I believe the 1969 Chevy Nova was available with a big block 396 and a 4 speed, I didn't see that option on the card, only reason I say this, is my Dad have one, when he was a young man.
