    People that play KSP will literally take on any subject to learn and understand it so that it can be applied. Have always had to learn a whole bunch of cool exciting stuff and I've found a lot of interests, academically, because of it. Was struggling with attempting to use the Kal outside of what other youtubers did. It's all been tested on their side so they put exact figures for propellors or angles etc. This is brilliant because there's so much more I'd love to implement with all this knowledge so thank you. Will most probs have to rewatch a few times at key points just to check back xD
    Was tryna build a helicopter and separately an ssto which incl propellors (vtol maybe?)
    Gonna have a ton of fun so thanks again
    Also, what an insane view you have behind your desk 😳

    It’s a shame that you seem to have stopped making videos - you’re a very good educator. Reducing quite complex information into a form that lots of people can understand is a talent - pick up the camera again for ksp2!

    Using your tutorial I successfully KAL Autopiloted a rocket to a circular Kerbin orbit. I launch using the Kal, it directs itself to the nearest comfy orbit, and awaits further improvement.
    I started out launching SRBs straight up I'm not supposed to know this sort of thing

    Damn, this looks great. The most complicated thing id did witha KAL was a little refueling craft that landed and once there stood up on its own using piston but this... Now i want to do a newer version maybe

    Love the content Urban! In terms of 'what next', would love to see your tips on how to tackle those annoying survey missions. They're usually something like 'over 16k at location x', and doing it with the early rocket parts is incredibly difficult, but getting a plane up to those heights is also hard.

    • @starshard0
      @starshard0 2 года назад +2

      In my experience, it's best to skip those missions if you can. If you really want to do them, I recommend building a "cruise missile" style craft that uses rocket engines to fly but has multiple control surfaces to maneuver.

      Thanks Bruno! I have made a Robotic Arm to work on both my Space Stations and Surfaces Bases for my current career. They work pretty well, if a little slow, but have a tendency to get warped over time due to the robotics bugs in the current game :(

    I guess on console there is no way to control the thrust limiters on engines other than the main throttle

    • @urbanventure3343

      Hey, unfortunately the KAL Controller cannot take the SAS inputs and apply them, just the ones you can bind in the action group menu like WASD. It’s a shame

    So you can't make a fully automated craft with the Kal? Like accent, gravity turn and circularization burn?

    • @urbanventure3343
      @urbanventure3343  Год назад +1

      It is possible however the KAL can’t intake any information about what is happening to the craft, like speed and altitude. It’s not too hard to automate a launch to orbit if your craft is always exactly the same each time (and easier on bodies with no atmosphere) however if you change anything on the rocket you will probably have to reprogram the KAL.

    • @uCruz_
      @uCruz_ Год назад

      @@urbanventure3343 So all I would have to do is have a standard rocket and control the TWR to always be the same?
