Wow! This is exactly our problem. My sons were really amazed when I showed them the steering worked when bridging that fuse with tweezers. Super helpful video, and I may be dogging out the soldering iron soon.
Excellent! I had the same thing happen to my 2075x in my TRX4 Bronco today without doing anything just lost all steering. So glad to have found this!
I've been looking for a replacement servo after my 2075 died last week. Tried this fix and up and running again. SWEEEET. REMEMBER Unplug servo from rx before doing this fix as it will possibly short and blow your rx and esc. Anyway Cheers Kev Pat and the original guy who posted this fix on RUclips.
Omg this acc works! I just tried this with one of my e revo 2.0 servos and it fixed it. Just make sure there’s no solder or wire touching to any other components.

Perfect!!! exactly the same happened to me today with my udr. no jumps only a bit on 4s on gravel drive, suddenly no more steering. wanted to change the servo today but will now also check first whether it is the same problem with my servo

@@JBsFPV did you ever try it yourself? I'm thinking I'm gonna give it a go eventually. My servo in my rustler is pooched. I'm pretty good at soldering small components on circuit boards thanks to my passion for FREE thanks to mod chips in video game systems etc

Thanks I got mine fixed,
but after I shorted the fuse the servo motor was overheating and so as the pcb board! Turns out that the motor was worn out so I replaced the servo motor out of an older traxxas servo and now it works fine!!

This is why I have kept all 3 2075 servos I have blown fusses on I thought there had to be a way you could maybe fix it, now I can thank you. All of them were free because of warranty lol.

I fixed it also but I noticed that it was overheating, so I took it apart turns out the motor inside the servo was worn out! I replaced motor from out of an older servo now it works fine!!

that site find is a gem, not exactly how it was done but if it works with out causing problems.. why not.
makes you kind of wonder if that fuse intentionally has a low amperage to increase sales.
no idea but surely they would shoot themselves in the foot with warranty claims
its business practice to build it into the business model, if managed correctly it actually makes them money as the majority of people do not seek warranty for items as inexpensive as these.

I have a 7050 Servo that died three months ago. I did replace it with a spectrum servo (don’t know the exact model besides that it was waterproof) I have opened up the dead Servo but on mine I don’t have a fuse. Although I could just not be seeing it. Might just have to play with it to see if I can 1. Fix it or 2. Break it even more

It didn't work on my revo 3.3. But then again they came with 2 servos for the steering. And Traxxas might have thought. We don't need to send 2 working servos do we? 30 bucks for one on Amazon. I think its worth calling Traxxas to see about a warranty repair. I've had this for 2 months and haven't even gone through a full gallon of fuel and I have broke 1 slipper clutch (before the break in was over), rims, the trans blew up and now a servo. I'm not even bashing on it. I was hoping for a solid RC car out of the box after dropping $550 bucks on it. But it seems like I got suckered into a money pit. I race up an asphalt road through the grass and back with the neighbors. If that is bashing then no way could it handle what I do to myself on a dirt bike with 40 foot jumps. (thats 10 kilos or something for the metric people).

Rusterl VXL servo died on second outing, will check and see if that is the issue, hoping also for a warranty replacement of a new servo without the fuse as this really shouldn't happen to a new RC car. Seems to be a design fault (fuse gauge is too thin).

Too bad you didn't have a better fuse. Whatever caused the fuse to blow will still be there. Hope the surge won't be strong enough to knock something else out, since the purpose of the fuse in no longer there. Keep us updated. Would like to know if it's still working. Thank you. Kevin!
My UDRs servo Quit yesterday as well, I’ll try this today, hopefully it’ll work for me too!

Bro I literally just unboxed my UDR and drove it slowly in my living room for 10 minutes….and then my servo stopped moving. I think this may be the issue to my Servo…I’m glad there’s a potential solution but I’m kinda pissed

ah unfortunately the Summit was phased out by the TRX4. Traxxas no longer manufacture them. however, it is possible to convert the EREVO into a HCG rock racer.

Just so everyone knows who watches this the fuse is there to protect the components you can replace it was a fuse of the same value but if you just use a wire and you over load the servo the servo itself will fry
Good point. For those of us that were just going to replace the servo anyhow this seems like a good temporary fix. So long as it only fries the servo that you would have otherwise been replacing anyhow
Try putting a piece of sheet steel on the bottom of the chassis so it doesn’t flip as easy

This servo has been a problem since day one, they had problems with them in the trx4 n they continued to use them in the UDR??? They do send u a new servo but it’s the exact same garbage servo??? Just an update on doing this fix 🙉 I fixed the fuse with solder and worked perfectly for month's until I bought and installed the Traxxas Tracks which put a lot of strain on the servo and in turn blew my ESC 🙈🙈🙈🙈 £80+ down the drain FFS 😭
I guess the fuse in the servo is there to protect the ESC so soldering it just sent the short straight to the ESC and blew it.
My advice would be to scrap the servo and buy another branded one for £20 which is cheaper than £80+ for an ESC
Hope you guys don't make the same mistake as it will eventually cost you.

Buy power he servo that is genuine 20kg for 25$ or 23 for 30$ they are all metal gears and casing and super fast I have one in a tmaxx and trx4

You shorted that circuit board... has anyone reported issues later (burnt servo, or even fire?). It's been 2y+. Just had same issue on a 21days old 2075, but am skeptical to try that one out... it's just $40.

My servo also died. Same reason - the fuse. How does it perform after you just soldered the two ends of the dead fuse? Is it overheating?
Now that is a fix you won't see on Traxxas support. !

WARNING. This is only a temporary fix. If you do this with stock ESC that will be gone next as the stock ESC has only a 1A BEC!
