The best thing about DMC2 is that it forced Capcom to course correct into DMC3.
So single handedly, DMC2 made DMC3.
Tbh dmc2 was not that bad for me.
the greatest mistake was the base for the best game
Okay DMC3 purist LMAOOOOOO
Itsuno had 6 months to make the game. And he was determined NOT to be the guy who just made DMC2. And because of it we have DMC3 and DMC5: two of the best games ever made.
@TheMilhouseExperience
Man do i love old men being immature.
Okay but let’s make this clear…. Dante’s one liner “king huh? Here’s your crown” then shoots the guy is the most GANGSTER shit
true that was one positive from dmc2 was that line and his final line and thats it well actually his fit is amazing but thats it all the bosses are crap(like that tentacle one that is insanely bad) camera, and the gameplay aka just an fps since no one has a way to hit you which is embarrassingly hilarious
“Here’s your crown”, then he proceeds to shoot him in the chest.
@kiranikib42 BULLSHIT. DMC3 owes DMC2 a lot in the same manner Star Fox 64 owes it to Star Fox 2. In DMC2 we got Dante's signature sword Rebellion, the introduction of Bloody Palace, changing weapons with L2, stage selection after completing the game once, the lock-on was better implemented here compared to DMC1 (which uses the R3 analog stick, which kinda sucks), this is the first game to introduce a separate campaign to that of Dante in the form of Lucia, and last but not least, when you're fighting enemies and trying to rank S, you go back do "D" once you're hit (in DMC1, your score only lowers from S to A, then from A to B, and so on, and you only lose it completely if you're thrown by an enemy, in DMC2, however, it only goes back to 0, which makes it slightly harder but also became a main stay in the series, one hit and you're out). Also, let's not kid ourselves, Dante's new design is really cool, the music is good, and enemies' overall design also look cool in my book.
Crowned him like a Witch in L4D2
@reptiliannoizezz.413 for real my guy 😂😂😂
Also id like to mention that if you put all dante's lines together into one video, in total he has 1 minute and 34 seconds of dialouge in the entire game
Wow... I knew he didn't talk much here but literally less than 2 minutes of dialogue in his own game, this devil refuses to cry.
@darkblasterzero4067Devil may never speak unless necessary
^ **passes out from reading that information**
Should have called it Devil May Speak.
@Omicron9999 *DEVIL MAY HATH SPOKETH'th*
*AND THE DEVIL, HATH SPOKEN*
The portrayal of Dante in DMC 2 being depressed and not talking much can also be explained by him going through some tough shit , but i like that in 4 and 5 he's slowly going from the bad depression to the" fuck it we ball " depression
my head cannon devil may cry 2 takes place at the end of the series or was till the fifth installment. still kinda works
Don’t think it’s head canon it makes sense
No because he already no Trish
Alternatively, you could portray Dante as utterly bored and disinterested during the events of Devil May Cry 2. I know I would.
Goro majima type shit
I'm gonna be honest, "Here's your crown" was actually a hard fucking line.
Yeah....... DAMNIT I SHOULD'VE SAID THAT TO THE FINAL BOSS OF DMC4 THAT WOULD'VE BEEN PERFECT AFTER THE PAIN HE PUT ME THROUGH
One thing I like about this game is Dante’s outfit. I love the deep red color and twin tailed trench coat design
That and the OST are pretty much the only two things I actually like in that god-forsaken game
his coat is SSStylish in DMC2
real its one of my favorite dante outfits. also the soundtrack is cool
Im new to dmc and just finished the first game, second game doesnt feel bad so far when it comes to combat.
@NirualWoW Yeah but it gets worse, you're just at the start
If you're wondering why the story made no sense, it's because all the plot points are only explained if you play as Lucia. Dante is basically a side character in his own game, playing fetch for someone else's main story.
Anyway, if you do play as Lucia you'll find out that Kingdom Hearts (Birth by Sleep specifically) basically ripped off DMC2's story.
It's a good thing they don't make Dante side character again... right?
That's so weird, you'd think they'd know most people would choose Dante first.
@therealcyanman game spread across two discs and Lucia is Disc 2. Makes sense most people don't realise DMC2 is Lucia's story when they put in Disc 1 and don't wanna play any more when they finish with Dante. Though, 3 narrated by Lady, Nero the playable character driving the story in four and most of five (sharing the push in five with his dad). Dante's mostly a stylish side character once he's Awakened and defeated Mundus.
@therealcyanmankamiya probably made most of Lucia first before handing over the game to itsuno. I’d consider kamiya a better game designer than itsuno so that’s why I think Lucia ended up more enjoyable to play than Dante. Even tho the game is still boring as fuck
@zzodysseuszzKamiya had no involvement in DMC2
I've seen a lot of informative elevator rants in my day, but this is top tier.
I'd mind at all an elevator fun-fact/rant from the Cyan Man
@FoxBlaze55 I'm gonna be honest...I was invested in the elevator fun fact. So much so that when it went back to the game, I was a bit upset.
Didn't even realize how broken it was until i played it on the dmc hd collection. The "combos" alone were enough to make a grown man cry...
Maybe even make a Devil May Cry
Say that again...
@KingtonyXCIV
Devils never cry
Night is calling
Mist of resolving.
@xm214-aminigun9 Maybe somewhere out there... Even a Devil May Cry when losing a loved one. Don't you think?
"a false coin, for a false god..."
arius: GUEYYYYYYYYYYY
Like another comment said, the plot points, or at least some of them, are explained in Lucia's campaign. But even after completing both characters campaign, you only get like 1/4 of a complete story, but it's also an incomplete story. Truly one of the games of all time.
Also before I forget again, at the end of Lucia's campaign, the final cutscene shows her realizing the coin was actually a double-headed coin, which means Dante has been lying to himself and the others for the whole game.
Why was it double sided if he rigged it so he will always lose why not just say “Yeah I’ll help” why flip a coin in the first place?
@thatbluegametto look cool and mysterious
@TheGintama86tbh that's totally in character for him lmfaooo
@Arkmanzzfr😂😂😂
@thatbluegamet
To give the illusion of fate. Just make what you want to happen heads and other characters just won't question that logic for some reason.
The problem with the story of dmc2 is that everyone is going to play Dante first, but Lucia's side has literally all of the plot
Lucia the goat
ngl i played DMC2 and went through it going: “oh arius, is evil I have to kill him” the majority of the game. Literally until the last 5 missions, the game started to explain stuff, and by that point, I just thought: “ok, so this is just DMC1 again but instead of Mundas, it’s Elon Musk”
Yeah If you play her side first the story makes a Little More Sense but still quite messy and not good
That’s funny because I played Lucia’s story first and there was no plot to speak of
But he had a bad ass suit and 2 Devil Triggers , that's gotta count for something??
I loved that devil trigger style. You can equal items to make you fly & sh|+. Equalling the devil trigger with different abilities was fun
It is a good outfit.
And movement
Bruh that helicopter boss sequence is absolutely a nightmare. Barely any health and you gota fight that chopper like 4 times.
And it shoots missiles out his ass repeatedly while the health bar is extremely low at that point
@cyberpsychgreen my fingers still hurt man 😢 and that's when I didn't even know guns were better then the sword I just kept running up close and personal to enemies and bosses occasionally shooting but now (using Trish she more fun) more pew pew less slashy slash
@Penguinthief Noo, realizing that the gun is WAY better so later on is such a pain for such stressful games/bosses. At least you realized now, good
"Choppa, choppa, where are you ?"
so umm, idk how to tell you this, but you can just keep running the first 3 times, you only need to beat it at the end
The actual best thing about DMC2 is Dante’s design. This is the coolest he looked in the series and I wish they would bring it back .
yeh its such a pity it was wasted on this game
Dmc2 was actually my first and got me into the franchise.
I was at the end of middle school then, so I couldn't see it for it's flaws. You had a button that let you do flips and run along walls. I couldn't give less of a shit what the story was on about. You played as a Demon Hunter and could look cool doing it.
So naturally, when I did get my hands on the first game in preparation for the 3rds release, I had a much better time.
This is basically my experience too lol 8th grade I got it from a target in their budget games section so my dad bought it for me. I liked it back then, but it only made 1 so much better when I got my hands on it next
@kyledodson2992looking back at it now, what do you think?
@BuryTheLight-tds it’s meh. I still played it again with the HD collection and I Will probably play it again. Again, most of it is just nostalgia, but it’s an ok action game for what’s it worth
@kyledodson2992 Yeah, I should skip it in that case. I got bored after the 1st mission anywah
I was in the 10th grade and I loved it; like I remember thinking "I wish there were more cutscenes" but god did I love the dedicated dodge button that did flips and wall runs. It felt like it had Enter the Matrix mechanics. Like if ppl saw it more as "Dante is bored and doing a favor for a lil old lady that helped out pops" they wouldn't be bothered as much? Idk but the game is like 90% Vibes and Aesthetics
Real Men don't skip DMC2
The Soundtrack makes me want to play it
True men also play Lucia for EVERY BIT OF LORE
Suffering brings forth true strength
and the reboot banger ost
@_Tzer the reboot in a nutshell “Decent gameplay, nice (good) music, they have massacred my boy”
Hello there!
I have massive anxiety about being in elevators and that small bit giving elevator facts about their safety was actual very comforting! Thanks for that!
0:09 wait, that’s me, we’re friends now
Hallo
I am inside your walls rn
Whiner
Hello there I'm new here
2:56 is the exact scene and moment i personally stopped playing dmc 2 because i knew what was in store. i feel so sorry for your loss😭
This game gave us Desperation Devil Trigger, the ultimate devil trigger of all devil triggers.
Dmc2 was my first devil may cry and as a kid i loved it cause it reminded me of resident evil only i had unlimited bullets
Play 1 and 3
Technically the 1st game was based on a scrapped Resident evil 4 beta build so the series does give RE vibes
Also PLEASE give Dmc 1 or 3 a shot, if you still like 2 after trying them I can respect your opinion, but I can bet you you will LOVE the other 2
I remember my uncles reason for getting dmc was because he thought dante looked like leon
same
Same here. I kind of love this game, although it sucks. I think it's undeniable, though, that the music, atmosphere, and designs are amazing. Dante's look is still so fire.
8:03 you just know even Dante forgot about the plot, so he just stares in silence
10:44 "I was going to be the kiiinggg of this world "😂
"King huh? Here's your crown" *BANG BANG*
Proceed to shot his torso
@PenguinthiefMission cleared
DMC2 had a sick collab with Diesel back then and the characters had an alternative costume wearing an actual clothing from a Diesel collection that year ...I think at least that was awesome
The evade mechanic in this game is awesome. When you have barely any HP and turn to devil form you will become Sparda and sending devastating beams.
No, that's not Sparda. It's completely unrelated and not explained at all.
the evade mechanic is largely unchanged and you're referring to Shin Devil Trigger which is never explained and is the game is too hard/terrible here's a free win button
@MegamiImperatrix it's non-Devil Sword Dante Shin Devil Trigger
@IlleUmbraLycan What's your source on that?
@MegamiImperatrix Devil May Cry 1, when you use it to beat Mundus?? Dante always had it, but had no control over it until 5 when he finally unlocks his full potential by absorbing rebellion. Sparda left those swords specifically for each son to do as such
Ohh boy can't wait for DMC 3, very fond memories of that one
You know the theory that your mind erases boring memories? I recently completed this game and I don't remember I did until I watch this video
there's only 2 good things about dmc2: the music is pretty good, and it's the game that introduced Dante's iconic "Rebellion" sword.
otherwise, it's easily one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had, and I literally thought to myself "I'm glad I never have to play another second of that" after finishing it. That's not a thought anyone should have about anything that's supposed to exist for entertainment, especially in a game series that is otherwise beloved.
I've heard the story described as having the feel of "Dante just got back home from a 20 hour shift and realised he has no food in the apartment, so he has to force himself to leave and go get food". the stakes are so low and he has so little energy that this analogy honestly feels fitting
Well the gunplay was pretty new for its time. But the issue was the guns were too strong.
I am not a fan of Rebellion and I have always resented that Alastor and Ifrit got cast to the wayside - especially when factor in that it originated from this pox upon the series!
3 being a prequel of course needed new weapons and can be forgiven…
@TMiles001 the rebellion had more narative impact tho, being the sister sword of the Yamato
@bloodangel19perhaps, but none of that was introduced until much later. There is no reason Alastor could not have been just as narratively significant if it wasn’t immediately discarded after the first game and never given a second thought…
It certainly was not a consideration when they made dmc2.
To me Alastor will always be Dante’s sword. It was cool as as hell. Had an epic introduction. And evidently was such a powerful enough weapon that it was a decided upgrade from Force Edge (which itself must be more powerful that Rebellion since it was his sword of preference at the start of DMC1 when he canonically would have had access to both).
Rebellion in my eyes will always be the usurper of Alastor’s rightful place.
@TMiles001 Who cares. Alastor is a random Devil Arms. He gets new ones every game.
I remember starting DMC2 thinking "it can't be that bad", but then I saw the upgrade menu and thought"oh god no". Halfway through I just wanted to toss my controller. At the end, I didn't even feel a sense of accomplishment, just... emptiness. Truly a game/of all time.
I think when i played 2 what desire i had to finish it drained when i got to the main village again (as Dante) but i pushed through. I hated myself for it and beat it as the other protag. I beat all those games once and i still feel shame the most trophies i have for that trilogy are in 2.
Dramaqueen
2 isnt the worst game Ive played but good lord all of the worst aspects of the game really add up to make this game a such a slog to go through, by the end of it I felt so drained. I daresay that getting through this game with both characters earns you a weird sort of bragging right
Skill issue
It's pretty clear that the entire environments are to be dead and well it explains Dante's control over his DT Guage and has the Majin DT.
5:44 you have triggered a deep trauma in my mind with this part of the game
I remember as a kid I desperately wanted to play DMC as I’d seen all the adverts. Then I saw DMC2 in a store and had a melt down because my mum wouldn’t buy it, eventually she did. I played it and loved it. Then I got DMC1 and realised I’d played the wrong game haha
The best thing about DMC2 is that in the end Dante manages to drive all the way into SMT3 Nocturne.
I remember the selling point for all the kids at the time was: Dante can run on walls now.
... and Dante's coin was double-headed all along
if you know this it helps you in smt nocturne
@Szczauqa just played recently smtv vengeance, one more reason to one day play nocturne
Dmc 2 deserve a remake
💯
5:43 I'm playing dmc2 as I watch this. and this part of the video unironically held my attention for long enough I didn't realize I was dying in game
You'll never be a woman.
9:50 as a kid, this scene alone made buying this game worthwile for me
0:38 Bro chose to REBEL, by playing the game that introduced the REBELLION as Dante's signature sword. 😆
Beyond poetic! 👏
Arius’s lines and voice acting are hilarious.
Me personally i like how running up the walls and shooting the guns and being upside down with it.
Everybody told him not to play dmc2 he didn't listen.
He is just doing for fun, let him be.....
Who is everybody?
"hold on to my coin, Lucia" Dante like an idiot replaced the super coin with the false one again
4:50 Chicago
Chicaco Fire 🔥🚒
I got into the series without knowing anything, and I actually loved the movement in this game. Though incredibly incomplete, I definitely enjoyed this game 😁
DMC 2 introduced me to the world of Dante so no matter what it’s in my heart
Same
If you wanna get into Devil May Cry with training wheels, play DMC2. If you want the full experience, play 3 onwards, but if you want to be really challenged, play DMC1; it doesn't have the mechanics of its sequels and feels the most like a proof-of-concept.
Dmc 1 and 2 ARE worth playing. After the first two, the hype and anticipation for the third game ABSOLUTELY pays off. Very cathartic.
Fr after I finished dmc2 and went straight to 3, it felt like night and day
Pls dont lump Dmc 1 and 2 in the same boat. One is an actually good game
Don't lump DMC1 and DMC2 into the same boat. DMC1 is like an 7/10 while DMC2 is like a -8/10
@youknowwhattodo-pz8ex DMC 2 is the Nickelback of the series, fun to sheep and say "haha bad"
you are making it sound as if dmc 1 was bad (which is not)
unironically the elevator info drop was pretty interesting.
7:07 an oil rig blowing doesn't sound that unexplainable
1) I'm obsessed with just rewatching this dmc playlist it's become my go-to "good vibes videos"
2) I'm so glad Arius is getting the love he deserves
6:06 meet the medic
DMC2 really was the blueprint for where Itsuno went with the franchise.
I love how Dante looks constantly locked in, like he knows the camera is there
Dante running up walls to fall down face first and shoot his double pistols is one of the coolest things ever & he had aura aura
You know i also did not heed the warnings and played dmc2. So I can say that you really did condense the experience beautifully. Every important bit is here, namely the incredible voice acting
dmc 2 was actually fun, just a bit different. I liked that you could combine different bits of the amulet to mix and match different play-styles. Also the running up walls and dodge functions made you feel like a badass - the crazy part in this game is the bloody palace, practically only beatable with Trish
The gameplay would be more tolerable if they didn't butcher the combo system. People don't even know that each sword Dante gets has unique combos but the game doesn't tell you how to do them, and the inputs are so jank that you just end up using the basic combo anyway.
@ThaBlackSwordsman Wait a focken minute, there's different combos in that game? I never knew, I just used the rocket launcher.
@weatherman1504 this game actually has the most ground moves for Dante. Fireworks, Rain Storm and Twosome Time make a debut here. Rebellion has 4 basic combos, depending on when you decide to push the left stick. Pressing YYYY is not the same as Y-forward-YYY, that's why the lock-on system is a bunch of crap.
Also proper aerial melee makes a debu here. If you hold RB, push forward and press Y 3 times, Dante does two kicks in the air and slams the enemy with Helm Breaker. To this day, this combo has never appeared in any DMC game
@marikiri5119 Every single game after DMC2 still did it way better.
@marikiri5119 yo, exactly!! like the double chop ground combo, those were sick. I also really like the dodging in this game vs the dodging in the other games. something about doing the flips is just really cool even though it was just a simple button press, it felt really satisfying when you dodged an attack perfectly.
some say being bad is bettter than being boring, but there's nothing worse than being both bad and boring
DMC2 desperately needs a remake.
Context you gotta play Lucia for the context.
Yes you have to play as the short side story for context
Sloths are really strong swimmers though!
I loved Dante's animations in DMC2. That's it.
Also the secret missions broke me when I realised There is a different set of them for every difficulty, but they arent set in stone, only the order you do them in. So I was left with the harder secret missions in DMD mode when I realised I could have waited and used DMD mode for the easiest secret missions.
I’ve actually made a chapter 1 for my own DMC 2 fan story, it’s named “Devil May Cry 2 - Revised” and it’s only chapter 1 but I’ll have more chapters out…
I'm excited
I decided to go on a journey to beat all the stories in DMC. I break my vow for DMC 2, because I don't think I'm strong enough to endure Lucia's story.
when i went from dmc1 to dmc2 and i noticed the hardest part of the game was finding where to go or what to do rather than any actual fights 😭 i literally got lost on mission 14, ran in circles
Dmc2 is what under the mayo thinks gameplay in stylish games should be
Didn’t he call this game boring
Under the Mayo is a pointless channel ran by a pointless person
@jorts_master69 pointless? No I'd say the point comes from us laughing at his God awful takes
@TheTrains13 Well at least you found some silver lining lmao
Honestly i love dmc 2 alot it was my fav tbh i think its the personality change makes sence considerin this is right after his brothers death n hes in his 30s
Honestly this game's soundtrack is WAY better than you'd expect considering the development hell it went through
(10:34 ignore Arius breaking down, just listen to the music)
i agree that the themes atmosphere and ost has some interesting pieces. at this time period a lot of japanease media was set on using european architecture and cathedrals as setting for demonic or evil themes like the anime monster or devil may cry 1. the gameplay and story suck but dante's design and the neo gothic atmosphere is nostalgic
@ldkWhatToWriteHere yeah, see? even the name goes hard
Thank you so much you saved me 8 was planning to play the dmc 2 after the 1, now i kinda change my mind
Obligatory watch for having a video length 12:34
Hey, I made into the video. I feel so fulfilled.
Ok but the plane is actually hilarious and i think it wouldve worked so much better in another game lol
One of the games of all time
Main villain do be main villaining with that voice.
I started from 1 and loved 2 as well. I still go back and play it!
Vergil is messaging you now
Play DMC3 so you can feel the motivation and make sure you wouldn't get easy mode
It's a shame the game was so butchered and patched together by final release cause you can see the skeleton of something truly cool.
The extra acrobatics and expanded gun combat was great it's just a shame it's the only correct form of engagement.
The soundtrack still manages to be good.
Drip Dante is as alive as ever even if his character seems asleep at the wheel at times.
Maijin DT was cool but the circumstances to use it really brought it down, I hope it comes back as a more conventional mechanic later down the line :^)
Lucia deserves to be in a good DMC game so she can be a better character.
"King? Yeah... Here's your crown" Mah boy finally woke up!
I'm looking forward to your DMC 3 video because boooooy is there a lot to unpack with it.
Majin technically does come back (almost frighteningly close to the same) in DMC 5 so, technically you are right lol But out of all the games, this was probably one of the coolest forms. Also this game paved the entire way for the stylish movement and acrobatic controls we got in DMC 3 not to mention I personally feel this was one of the coolest outfits Dante ever had, and such a shame how they rehashed and reused almost all of the other costumes in almost every single game, EXCEPT for this one. The only one that is consistently been modded and not officially brought over in a special version of any of the number series 😮💨🤦🤷
Flight, give us some kind of DLC that gives us this costume or something! They included DMC1 Dante in the rebooted universe even (in the definitive Edition) So I hope like hell if they end up doing a sequel to the reboot, they include this costume as DLC or something. Damn it, I want drip Dante! Lol 🤦🎮🕹️💯
Devil May Cry 2 has such a large emphasis on gunplay because Capcom overcorrected based on criticism the first game received; that it was too hard (it has its occasionally rough moments, but the game greatly rewards pacing yourself and looking for ideal openings, and once you realize it, the game opens up immediately) and that mixing gunplay with your primary weapon was too confusing. It doesn't help that the enemy AI is practically braindead; whether it was intentional or not doesn't matter.
@AluminumFusion22 Yea, DMC1 in particular relies more on exploiting the enemy's opening, it's hard to just button mash in that game which is why people complained about difficulty
I actually liked 2. Dante's look in 2 is my favorite as well.
You actually enjoyed DMC2? Thats insane.
when i was palying it i was very confused and sleepy .when i saw your video on it i realized how funny it really is
Now I want to play it even more
I only had experience with the DMC series via my copy of DMC2 for PS2 that I got at SOME point in my younger years, i really don't remember when i got it, but my first memories of it are playing it around age 11. That would have been around 2004-2005.
I loved it honestly. I never once payed attention to the story even a little bit, but some of the cutscenes were really cool with their visuals and then devil trigger was like a combination of Inuyasha and Dragonball Z to my young mind. I dont think ever made it more than an hour or 2 into the second disc, and then i completely dropped it. But by means of nostalgia, i appreciate it anyway. I played 3 some later on. Like 8 years later i think, and i liked it enough to play all of 2 missions (good game, just had way more games id rather have played) and actually i got DMC5 for my PS5 maybe a month ago... Ive got an hour in it... I havent played the series much if its not obvious by now, but i never knew part 2 was supposedly bad, its funny to me that since it was the only DMC game i put any real time in, i consider it the best by default
It was my first dmc game, I was eight at the time, and totally fucking loved it. It got me into hack and slash games. I have since developed more taste, but it's still awesome.
Thats the age I was when I enjoyed it 2 😂
Tbh, I had unironic fun with DMC2 and I will die on this Hill
I still have nightmares about the helicopter
When Arius screams he sounds like muscle man from regular show
dont forget to play Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne; featuring Dante from Devil May Cry!
that coin in the start of the game Arius wants it and other objects to become more powerful and dante and lucia gathered them before arius gets them all also there was a underground stairs beneath the house that's how the old lady survived and u can see her waking up the stairs
strangely i enjoyed this game
Dmc2 has the best looking dante and in dmc 2 trickster and gunslinger are one style which I like...
Actually wild you didnt know to walk behind the fan accidentally after the plan crashed
It was cool you could play as either main character like the first resident evil
Devil May Cry 2 had some good ideas (most of which were thankfully brought over to later games), and Lucia is a better character in Disc 2 than what she seems like in Disc 1.
That said, yeah, pretty much everything you said is pretty much correct. It suffers in extreme amounts of poor execution. I do not envy the team that were practically forced to make the game, or Itsuno who had to go in and make it FUNCTIONAL (btw, this isn't the first time he ends up doing this in the franchise. The second time he did so was when the reboot was being made)
True gamers don't skip Devil May Cry 2.
Yes we do. Sh*t was trash. True gamers call a spade a spade even if it hurts to say it or not mention it at all.
True gamers give it a chance, then drop it because of how shit it is
@brianfields350 I played through it entirely. Unlike most, I even did Lucia's campaign. I thought it was alright.
@starhammer5247it was alright, but it def was nothing like the first. Controls were weird too.
I actually like DmC 2.
It was fun playing as a kid.
Blazing my guns.
Easy combos.
Feeling like a badass!!!
I like how the run time of this video compared to the others dmc videos this is the shortest, its basically 'the less we talk about it the better '
when i was younger my first dmc game was dmc2 and this got me into the dmc games
just quit dmc2 and came onto youtube to watch the cutscenes so i could move onto 3, and got startpage-recommended this video. fitting
Good choice!
As bad as this game was i really liked Lucia and she could have been better if they actually had ppl knowing what they were doing at the start, as for Arius he little cry at 10:34 has always lived rent free in my head since back then. Id really love to see him Remake this game and bring Lucia back and better
Best thing you can say about DMC2, is it gave us the sticker on the SMT4: Nocturne box that says: Featuring Dante from DMC2!
Nocturne is game number 3, not 4
heres your crown is a goated line and you understand the story when you play the lucia disc
