    The Anker 2600 is $1599 at Home Depot. I'm impressed with your review of the Anker 2000 (757). I trust the Anker more than the Pecron. The 2600 Anker has 2550 +- WH's. So which would you buy, the Anker 2600 or the Pecron E2000. This is getting more complicated. OYY

    I have the E2000 and had my A/C go out in Georgia for like two weeks while working to get it replaced. I figured it was a perfect time to test out the solar battery with a window A/C unit and it worked well. With my 8,000 BTU unit it gave me 3 hours, 4.5 if I had good sun for my little bit of solar. A/C is life in the summer in this state with the humidity so I wanted a little more cushion on hours so I bought the EB3000 to bump up the storage. Works well. You do have to manually set the total wattage in the settings on the E2000, instructions are in the manual and easy to follow. Also the percentage on the E2000 will NOT recalculate when you first add the EB3000, it doesn't see a load and thinks it's at 100% even though you added the expandable battery at say 80% so total lets say an even 90% once balancing, but the E2000 will not see this. It WILL recognize that it needs to be charged and will charge, and future use the percentage will work. This is the only hiccup I've seen, but it is great, works well and is CHEAP for what you get. And that's what I wanted, bang for my buck. Now I can easily run my lights, fridge, fans, computers, TV etc etc during a power outage. This is just a backup for power outages for me, I don't use it daily. But I feel much better for those in between times when I don't want to pull out the gas generator, for when it's only a couple hours or at night when I don't want to disturb the neighbors.

    These Pecron E2000LFPs are on a flash sale right now. $899 (black model only) and you can even find a promo code that brings it down to $850 with free shipping. IMPOSSIBLE to beat that price. I've had mine for about 9 months and use it everyday. Anyways, thought I'd share the news. Thanks for the review and glad you like this unit as well.

    That particular unit, the Pecron E2000, is widely considered to be the best overall value in mid-sized portable power stations. I've studied this market pretty extensively and it is the best unit on the market that is still truly portable. The battery expansion options are reasonably-priced, just like the base unit, and with the oversized solar input it allows, you can still keep those batteries charged. It's not best in class, but is definitely a fantastic value.

    This might be a stupid question I apologize, Can you charge this with a solar panel while plugged in to an ac or dc outlet? or combination of the two or three? So if I have this in my RV hooked in to a solar panel can I have it hooked in to an AC or DC outlet also for faster charging time?

    Has anyone sent the unit back to Pecron for repair? I live close to their repair center but they will not allow you to bring in the unit yourself.
    One of my mppt port will not charge, failed after 11months. I try UPS cost estimate for shiipping, it's more than 100$ !!

    This is 899 right now on Amazon and thier site for the black one only. I have 2 of these and and they work as good as my ecoflows. No fancy xboost that can ruin your electronics. Just No BS speccs. on top of that if you do enough research on testing here in YT you'll find that its more efficient than most of the popular brands. We're talking an average of 90%on dc and ac .

      To be fair, you’re not supposed to use X-Boost with electronics. It’s for dumb appliances.

      @@JeremiahTownsendits only fair to people that know that which is not the majority of people looking into these. Theres a video on YT of someone using xboost on an ecoflow river to power his rv slide out. For testing purposes? I cant recall . But people who watched it will take it as they can power anything.

      @TommyCallaway  Год назад +2

      It’s extremely quiet so it works well in my studio environment with sensitive microphones, it has 1kw of solar input, 4kwh of storage with the extra battery, decent output at 2.4kw, and I am using it as a curiosity / hobby project to learn more about the capabilities of portable solar and batteries. I lost a freezer full of meat during an outage and that kicked my interest into high gear.

    Generator or battery? This isn't eaxactly generating power, it is simply transferring it from solar to the appliance. As always with these products the price is way too high. They all seem to be similar in that respect.

    • @TommyCallaway
      @TommyCallaway  Год назад +1

      It generates power from solar, stores it in a battery, and transfers that stored power to your appliances with an inverter.

    • @DoritosResidue
      @DoritosResidue Год назад +1

      press and hold down the dc or ac button for like a second. what ever ine you have on. The display wont turn off when left in idle. All it does is dim. But the display uses fractional power so I wouldn't worry about it. Also if it's plugged into the charger the display will stay on even if you have ac and dc turned off.
      I have a few different brands and pecron 2000 lfp is the one that drains the least when left on idle.

      For the DC and AC outputs, press and hold for a couple of seconds to turn on and to turn off.... AND - WAIT for the voltage output to "stabilize" - look at the voltage screen, BEFORE ATTACHING YOUR LOAD....

    More cheap Chinese portable battery packs. If you are running a solar system a portable system is really only good for a camper. If you want to power your studio, skip the portable setup and get a power wall. If you buy solar panels you need to run them to supplement your mains or go off grid with a lot more than 2kw. To be cost effective. Solar and ups are a big investment. Sure, if you are going camping it's a great supplement to a noisy generator, but for a home you need something more long lasting and reliable. Sure you can get away with Sony nfp batteries but for long term v-mount is a better investment option. These portable packs have their place in temporary setups. Lfp is a good choice for cycle life and cost, but nmc has 20% higher energy density if weight is a concern. Nice review, and good to see things are working out for your studio. I would encourage charging outside, or at least in a fire safe area, as there is a lot of energy in these packs, and being portable they can get knocked around, and it's hard to know the quality of cells used. There have been a number of fires etc associated with charging, so best to be safe if you are using these systems every day.

      @@TommyCallaway yes. V mount are definitely the way to go, and with a good solar setup and 8kw, you are pretty well setup for anything. Do you find the solar setup eliminates the need for v-mount, or is the convenience of wireless power still worth it, now that you have an excellent backup system

      Oh yea you people. Telling people bout this and that like you know all. All batteries are made in China along with most solar panels. They have spent more money on solar tech than any country. So yea China batteries and solar - bad. Well until the US spends the money to catch up. Buy what you want it's your money but also look into what you might need. Solar for your house is not cheap but educate yourself before you buy and don't listen to any one person that th8nks they know all about solar.

  • @ainttakenanyshit

    My two portable "solar carts" have three each of the Renogy 100 watt panels in series and they produce ~ 280 watts each, 560 watts total into both of the solar inputs. I can power my 6K BTU window AC most of the day with a net usage of zero watts draw from my Pecron E2000LFP battery bank.... With the HIGH solar charging rate, operating features, a separate DC and AC power on choice, and with my twice tested "conversion efficiency" of 91% and 93%, I am certain I made the right choice. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: You plugged your AC air conditioner load into the Pecron BEFORE TURING THE AC ON.... That is a BIG NO-NO 😞 I always turn on, select the output voltage screen,. and WAIT for the AC voltage to indicate a PROPER AC voltage output - with my unit, the AC output is ~ 121 VAC where earlier units only output ~ 110 VAC.... AGAIN - TURN ON THE VOLTAGE FIRST, THEN ATTACH YOUR LOAD...........
