Enjoy the hike I found you through rambino I look for a couple of people to follow and glad I picked your channel a lot of people don’t make it out of Georgia but from listening to you on your videos that you will make it
You’re doing great. Lots of water sources this time of year, so no problem there. You passed the cemetery yesterday that has two bathrooms and covered picnic tables.
The AT is 80% mental. What you said about knowing you'd be going home on your practice hikes is very real. Nothing can prepare you to hike the AT except hiking the AT. You are a dreamer, keep the dream alive. Happy trails - Tasty
👋🏼 hi Wolfie Keep doing the real talks at the end.. many hikers i watch don’t, and i always wonder why? Im a hiker, and know well enough the mental hardships.. it really does make you appreciate what you have 🙏🏻 Thanks for taking us along.. you can do it! 💪🏼 James-Jacob from lake erie Michigan
Enjoying the videos! I'm a section hiker and my husband is my best friend and a non-hiker. I know that when the hiking is tough, I miss him even more, so I get it! Better days will help you feel more positive about it. And remember, each day you are one day closer to going home!
I think starting early is hard from the homesick perspective. You don't meet enough people to keep your mind occupied. You are starting early enough to take a break and visit every so often and have her meet you along the way. Don't quit until you are sure you need to go home.
I’m looking forward to following along with your journey. Thanks for sharing it!! I’m planning to hike the Allegheny trail north bound starting April 22nd (Earth Day)
Really looking forward to watching your adventure. I'll be doing the AT next year, I started it a few years ago and had to pull off trail due to an injury.
Of course you're gonna miss your family. Especially when you're cold tired and hungry. Start making plans for them to visit. Get your trail legs and in a month or two go home and chill for a week. You started early and have plenty of time to finish by October
Those emotions are real. Listen to your heart (and body) when you need a rest. I was in Yellowstone this summer and had to stop one day and reconnect with the fam. Let me know when you are getting close to Shenandoah National Park and I can join you for a day.
💕🤍👣 Would be great if you could give us the temperature in the morning and again when you stop for the day. Followed many hikers in 2024 and don't remember any of them doing the temps like that every day. It is nice to be following along on your hike 💕🤍👣
The emotional part-lack of human connection- is hard, because those interactions help with dealing with the sucky parts-fatigue, hunger, cold, heat. Hopefully you find community among the few other early hikers soon. Hang in there.
Please don't tap out yet! Also, I want to ask who is Wookie (sorry for spelling if that's incorrect) but I'm scared to because I don't want it to be sad 🥺

I feel you, friend. Homesickness is what brought us home the first time. Focus on your why. 💙🙏🏼
Seeing these makes me so excited to start March 1 for my thru hike!!! You’re doing amazing!
Flexibility is key. Thanks for sharing this adventure!

Incredible miles! Missing your loved ones as you know is a given. But what an adventure You're on!!!!!
Look at your strong ties to your family as your strength, not a weakness.

You're doing good, totally get missing the family. I would be the same.
Family ties can be strong, just try to stay in tough as much as you can. Hike on

The first week is always the hardest
Keep pushing it’ll all work out. 🤟🏼
Nice , Thanks
Didn't think January was the month to start the AT thru hike.
I am from West Virginia too
Winter hiker. YMMV. good luck!
Have you seen any mice in the shelters? I assume they are all hibernating right now lol.
Which shelter was that that you left in the morning?
Thanks for the views.
Looks like Gooch Gap
@ ta. Makes sense; I didn’t stop there so it wouldn’t look familiar to me. Although there were days when they all started to look the same 🤪

I LOVE HOW RICH PEOPLE CAN GO OUT AND BE VAGRANT. BUT THE SAME THING IS A CRIME FOR THE POOR🎉🎉🎉🎉
That word doesn't mean what you think it does.
@CarthageForever it does to the police
You don't sound really happy. Your journey could be short. Should have thought out all of these things before leaving.
He's already in NC.
Ouch!
Bet your a lot of fun 🤨
