Paul I personally think that you truly are an inspiration for all the people who need encouragement to get outdoors and do some wild camping. You have shown courage and commitment. Thank you 😊 🙏 💓
7:07 When my kids were young I told them no-one cares so there is no point in being self conscious. Even if they did care then the opinion of a complete stranger doesn't matter (as long as you're not doing anything to make someone's day worse - manners are important). To prove my point we went to a busy shopping centre and I sat down in the middle of the pedestrian area. I just sat there in the middle with people having to walk around me. No-one looked. They just walked past. I love your vidoes. You're one of my favourite youtubers and this year I'm going to get out a lot more.
It’s become the norm now for people to be walking around with cameras and talking to themselves😂. As you say, people have their own lives to get on with and nobody pays much attention to what you’re doing thanks for watching.
Be yourself Paul. Authentic .None of us are perfect, that's what makes us human. I love watching your videos. I hope you can grow your channel and confidence in 2025 , you inspire more people than you give yourself credit for. All the best.
This vid had me smilling and laughing not at you but with you because I am also crap with my words and conveying what I mean, it is so refreshing watching some one I can relate to, it makes the message so much stronger and friedlier.
I can relate to so many things that you covered in this video Paul, especially editing out the mistakes 😄 I'm definitely not a natural talking to the camera but I agree the more you do it, the more comfortable you get. Cheers, James
It definitely gets easier but I’ve not mastered just having a conversation yet. I think preempting what you want to say sometimes gets in the way and the words don’t come out right 😂
@messnersminutes haha, I know exactly what you mean! It can sometimes feel like I'm trying too hard, especially if I'm trying to remember information to include in a video, and I end up barely being able to string a sentence together 😄👍
Hi Paul, I love a one take video or at least when the mistakes are left in, it's all so much more authentic. Yes a slick video is nice and if that's your style then cool but there's nothing wrong with a more basic style vid as well. Keep it up
We all make mistakes it’s all part of being human. I’ve only recently discovered your channels and you’ve encouraged me to get back into hiking and solo camping after a long period of ill health and struggling with injuries. You’re down to earth and real which is really refreshing.
Yep, the whole series has been re uploaded on this channel (from the main Paul Messner channel) there was a video and post about it a few days ago explaining why 🙂
Just like someone has said, you have been an inspiration for me, I am 54, and I bought a tent years ago for my kids, and I still have it, and you have give me the courage to start camping again at my age, I know I need to change the tent, but I will use it to get me started, I am going down to the Mournes with the dog, to sus the place out, and then I will definitely do my first wild camp, all because of you, I have picked up some extra kit, through your recommendation, so I am already, I just need to do it, which is the hardest part, as I am Adhd, but I will do it, all because of you, so I want to thank you, for your great inspiration 👌 take care Paul.
I think we all do it sometimes. We overthink, spent too much time focusing on the things that we think we need, instead of getting out and using what we have. There’s plenty of nice locations and if you wait till the weather is pleasant camping is a lot more fun. Best of luck with your adventures in 2025.
mate! you aint half carrying some mental baggage aren`t ya? FKKK what people think . In this messed up world these days if your video cheers just one single person up then it was worth all the effort my friend. I have a RUclips channel that covers my trips on Dartmoor where i live , there`s only about 7-8 vids and they`re not very good but they were mostly filmed for my housebound mother in law to view , She absolutely loved dartmoor and doted on me as her son in law . She passed away in November. Those vids gave her some joy it`s as simple as that , she couldn`t do it so i did and i filmed it . If people want to criticise my vids i really could not give a rats arse . What you do is a bigger better version of what i did
Paul, ive watched A LOT of YT videos. Ive made a small selection of YT videos. And I'll always say, NOBODY IS PERFECT. But I'll also say be yourself, ok edit out a few mistakes but keep it natural. Things go wrong, things might not sound right etc. But if you be yourself and people don't like it that's on them. Keep upnthe great videos, you help more people than you realise 👍
Editing keeps the flow moving, it allows you to highlight points, context others, points of silence to take in the countryside. Editing is like putting punctuation into your message. To guide your viewer through a story. You are really good at it, I watch you all the time. Why are you stepping backwards on quality of the picture, audio, and no editing. Why not just do a podcast? The video isn't adding anything. Bring back the Paul Messner we know and follow!

It’s weird, if there’s no camera there we all tend to just talk normally. But press record and suddenly we talk gibberish.😂

@ haha thanks Paul appreciate it
You are not a robot ✅ I'm glad you're coming to terms with this 😂👍
We're all human in the end.

Thanks mate. Keep up the good work with your channel. Watched a couple of the petrel videos last week. 👍🏻

I’m glad you’re finding the videos useful. I hope you’re back to full fitness and have a year full of adventures.

Like many I have my demons, although they prove to be less of a battle these days. 👍🏻

It's a one off challenge given to him by his wife Jo and Paul accepted it.. I think he did mention it either in yesterdays video or in this one 🙂
