7X5: I love the stuff with the villains in this show. So let's get into some analysis. First off, Dabi and Toga. Toga goes back to her old house and sees that her parents have left. Her house is full of vandalism or harsh messages. And Touya comes in to check on her. Now, Touya usually just calls Toga crazy and moves on about his day. But this is the first time he calls her by her name. And he burns down the house that brought her so many bad memories. Now, Dabi says he doesn't care about the League. That's what he says. But in my opinion, his actions speak louder than his words. He had already given Toga Twice's blood before the scene in this episode. So in actuality, him going to check on her and getting rid of the place that caused her torment was SOLELY to make her feel better. Together, they're going to make that sad parade march again.
Now, moving onto another villain pair: Spinner and Tomura. An interesting thing to note is that Tomura's hand was supposed to have missing fingers because of his face with Redestro. And super regeneration doesn't heal wounds obtained prior to getting the quirk. So Shigaraki should still have the red skin from his decay at the end of S5 and shouldn't have all of his fingers. Yet after battling Star and the quirk doomsday theory, he suddenly has all of the fingers on his hand back and the skin on his arm isn't red anymore. Though he seems to be in agony. Spinner originally joined for Stain. But he saw how Tomura was empty. Just like him. He saw how hard Tomura fought. He saw how he chased his dream. And Spinner eventually began to like Shigaraki. To the point that he wanted to follow him not out of admiration for Stain. But because he wanted to be by Shigaraki's side. But right now AFO is sticking around. So Spinner has to hope his friend is still in there. He's doing this all to help Shigaraki. Anyone can be someone's hero.
7X6: As someone who has been a massive Monoma fan every since he was introduced, this stuff was so PEAK for me. I remember being kinda disappointed that Monoma was introduced as this super calm and super intelligent guy and then very quickly became more like a gag in every instance after his appearance. But then one day Hori made a comment that Monoma and Shinsou would have big moments in the future. So I waited. And this did NOT disappoint. Monoma warps the heroes in, splits the villains up, hops over to Aizawa and then IMMEDIATELY has Shigaraki on lockdown. MVP Monoma for the win. I get it. Everyone is playing their part in this. But like, if Monoma wasn't here, Shigaraki could literally just insta-decay the battlefield and all of this planning wouldn't matter. I'm sure some people will come around to him after this episode. But as someone who's been a fan of his since the beginning, this episode was especially rewarding. He's the star.
Now then, that's enough Monoma analysis. Time for the others. Toga snatched Deku and threw a huge wrench in the entire operation. AFO roasting Endeavor for once again looking away from Touya and forcing the burden onto Shoto is definitely something. AFO seemingly was about to use a massive decay wave but Shigaraki seemed to stop him. Reason being, Dabi had already leapt out in front of him. So if AFO decayed everything in front of him, Dabi would've likely been caught in the crossfire. Now, despite AFO clearly being in control at the start of the battle, Shigaraki makes that comment at the end about thinking that he used to think Aizawa was cool but right now he's just a letdown. That obviously isn't AFO. Shigaraki is the only one who's ever thought Erasurehead was cool. As he said in S1 and 6. The line between AFO and Shigaraki has become so blurred that it feels like either one can step into the drivers seat at a moments notice. Despite that, there's still some resistance from Shigaraki's side(as we saw when he stopped the decay wave). Monoma pulled the strings. And now the battles are about to begin.
My interpretation of the Toya/Toga interaction was less about care and more about manipulation. Toya recognized that Toga was waffling, looking at her past, thinking of unnecessary things. So he followed her, reminded her of Twice's death, and burned the effigy of her memories in front of her in a two-pronged attack of "let's get vengeance" and "there's no turning back". He wants her as deranged and chaotic as possible because it suits his ends for her to be as dangerous as possible, ensuring he has the best chance at his own revenge as he can.
@JoshTheValiant I respectfully disagree. It's unfortunate that the anime cut it out but in the manga when Dabi is fighting Hawks, he thinks in his head that Hawks is screwed up for calling Twice unlucky and saying his new life doesn't mean anything. It's a small detail. Inner monologue. But it shows that despite what Dabi says, he cares somewhat about the League in his own way. Now granted, his desire for revenge is above anything else. But him finally calling Toga by her name is a sign of respect. That he sees her as a person and understands her pain but that they have to fight for the world they want to create. It doesn't read as manipulation to me at all
Monoma’s scene to me was really neat, because it reminded me of Black Star from Soul Eater or early Naruto. You have this loud, obnoxious character who, from the beginning, you wonder why they’re so annoying. Only later do you get the reveal that they’ve been told their entire life they’re a background character, useless, evil. So how do they respond? “Everyone, look at me now, I’m front and center. Who is a background character now!?”

Episode 142 had an end credits scene. At this point, it doesn’t matter as it teases something you already saw, but make sure to watch out for other episodes since they might have one as well.

The thing that bothered me was Monoma must have intentionally created that portal so Toga could pull Deku through. The portal must have either gone from within Toga's container to Deku (and then Deku, Toga, etc all went through Toga's main portal), or it must've gone from Toga's final location to Deku. Either way, I'm questioning Monoma here

You can if it’s a quirk that has to be activated. If someone’s body is already different at birth due to their heteromorph quirk, that can’t be erased (although the quirk’s functions can be cut off). As someone pointed out, the finger stuff is not a quirk.

yes. But her quirks "power" is tied to the horn on her head. It used to be larger, but has shrunk a lot due to her using her quirk in the deku vs overhaul fight. Right now she doesn't have enough "power stored up" to do that for Allmight or Izawa

@@gavincrane6054 She would have to store enough energy to rewind 5 years of All Might's life. Plus, the whole point of Eri's story is that she isn't a weapon, she is a child. Aizawa would rather stay without a leg than ask her to use her Quirk on him.
