Dame Anne Evans,In my mind the GREATEST wagnerian soprano EVER.She sings everything with such beauty of tone and feeling and her top notes are spot-on the money ie-no wobble or pitch problems.People complain that she isnt loud enough but having seen her as Isolde live in the theatre(10 years ago-she`s sadly retired now)on many ocassions I can resolutely tell you that her top notes could bring down birds!!I think this is the best ring cycle of them all and a (almost)perfect cast
