Thanks. But I've seen SO many negative reviews of this - it's actually astounding. I have a Honeywell T4 Pro thermostat. There are a few times that it functions normally. All too often, it indicates that the heat is on, it is "following schedule" when in fact it is programmed for 72 degrees F and the ambient temperature is 67 AND the heat is not on. There are other times when the heat goes on in the middle of the night - when it is programmed to be OFF at that time. Now, it just toggles between Prog and Off. Another older Honeywell thermostat in another part of the house is nearly just as erratic. A local heating oil company who installed both thermostats came out twice and said that they can't figure it out. One said "keep trying and see how it turns out".
I've noticed that mine is off by an hour. The time on my thermo is correct to my time but the scheduled time has be be shifted an hour in advance for it to follow the schedule.
This Thermostat does not support Heat and Cool Schedules separately (would be happy to be corrected if I misunderstood this.) You have to set the same Wake, Away, Home and Sleep times for both Heat and Cool, which is stupid in my opinion. Even though you wake up, leave for office, return home and sleep at the same time during summer and winter, ambient temperature change does not work the same in Summer and Winter. In summer, when the Cool is on, you want to set a higher temperature at an earlier hour to let the ambient temperature warm-up on it's own so that you can wake up, WHERE AS in Winter, when the Heat is on, you want to set a higher temperate just 10-15 minutes before when you want to wake-up and leave the bed. Tying the Wake and other three timings with both Heat and Cool together is utterly stupid. This feedback is for this Honeywell Thermostat model and not the content creator. Thanks to the content creator who took time and created this for the viewers.
Usualy whatever mode you have it set in. So for summer you have it set on cool so it runs the ac, you have to manually change it over to heat for it to run that system
If you guys don't find the Program button, look up the T6 Pro Manual these are the steps basically : Press and hold CENTER and buttons for approximately 3 seconds to enter advanced menu. 2 Press Select to enter ISU. 3 Press Select to cycle through menu setup options. 4 Press or to change values or select from available options. 5 Press Select and confirm your settings or press Back to ignore changes and return to ISU menu screen to continue editing another setup option. 6 To finish setup process and save your setting, press Home and return to Home screen. if programing to heat the house in the morn, why would I want to select the cool option? why cant they have a turn on the heater at a certain time and turn it off at a certain time setting???
Somehow my thermostat is set for following schedule. However, I do not want it set for following schedule, I want to set it I when I feel like it. How do I cancel the following schedule?
What does it mean when you said Cooling temperature at 85 degrees? I have an office space that is somewhat chilly in the morning but around 10:30 - 11:00 am it starts getting warmer and temperatures can reach 78 - 85 degrees throughout the office due to a flat roof and the sun. How can I set a 1-2 hour schedule in the morning for heat maybe 70-71 degrees and then when it starts to get hot turn on the A/C to a 73-74 temperature from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Nvm I figured it out. I held down the center button and + button for 3 seconds. On the next screen I kept pressing plus until it took my to “reset default options” I did that and now the program button is back
Can I save $ on my bill if I do the schedule? Bc now I have it as Auto on and off throughout the whole day and night and my bill is high! I wonder if it would be less by scheduling it. Only in the mornings and when I come home after work at 5pm. So it cools off the house. Bc at night it's cooler outside and not as hot, so I'll live w the fan at night. Maybe this would work and save me some money on the bill? Any suggestions?
Can I ask it to turn the AC off at a certain time and turn it on at another time or does it only change temperature according to the four modes wake, away, home, and sleep.
Mines is not cooling I have it on cool and it makes the furnace pop on. Was working just fine before we got a few cold days. Also there are no batteries in mine
So do you have to choose between "heat" and "cool" settings? Will the thermostat not automatically switch between the modes depending on the ambient temperature?
This product is probably the worst thermostat ever made- it uses old LCD tech and programming techniques... easy to understand why tutorials like this needed. Takes 5 minutes to program what should be 1 minute. Do NOT EVER have it installed. This is VERY hard to program and WAYYY over priced; it clearly is a way to increase profit for both installer and Honeywell.
Bro our builders told us to get this when we could've just got anything else.. we even have Nest thermostats that work great but then for some reason all the upstairs have this and the AC thermostat is the even worse small model
Yes, there is a way. Do you have your installation manual? If so, got to the "Installer setup (ISU). If not, here's how. 1: press the "Home" button. 2: Press the "Menu" and the "+" button together for 3-4 seconds. You should see a "ISU" prompt on the screen. 3: press "select". you should see a number "120" on the screen with a larger darker single digit number under it. 4: your options for parameter 120 are as follows: (0) non-programmed; (2) M-F and Sat-Sun programmed; ((3) M-F and Sat and Sunday programmed; ( 4) 7-day programmed. toggle the "+" or "-" to set the large number to (4). 5: press "Home" and you should see a "Saved" prompt on the screen. Done. Now when you do your scheduling you'll need to set a schedule for each day of the week. Hope this helps.
My family likes 70 degrees all year long… what would be the recommended settings for the heat/cooling during each period of the day? Should there be a few degrees between the heating and cooling settings? I have watched several videos on programming the T4 thermostat, but no one gives recommendations about this aspect of programming.
Mine never works. The Sleep mode will not take the time you set...if Sleep is on it will be on that mode no matter what time you set it. I had to disable it.
If the lower number is the current temp (in bold) and the upper number is the set temp for that time, Why is it that at the 3:52 point of your video, the set temp is 3 degrees lower than the current. I am dealing with this now. I set my temperature to be 65 and the current temperature is 70. The other day, I left the house thinking it would stop there, and was shocked to come home and find the temperature was 81! If I had been gone longer, who knows how hot it would have gotten. I don't want to come home to a roasted dog and cat!!
Ok my husband is OLD school and driving me nuts with this thermostat (Honeywell T4 Pro). PLEASE tell me how to cancel all programing and just manually put the air on what we want during the day and change it at night if we desire with the +/- buttons??
