Government need to do the right thing and compensate those who are affected due to building neighborhoods that are the cause of these floods. Where there were forests that took the water, is now houses and there is nowhere for the water to go. Very poor planning on the city/town officials part. My prayers are with all those people that have had homesteads there for generations and now are having to rebuild time and time again.
Like Colony Ridge? The whole country knows about that corrupted deal, they need to look at the commissioners in Liberty county and how much the developer paid off. Follow the money!!! But we all know they won’t ….
yes .. including the ima survivor animal sanctuary n all the Morrow family’s on Morrow hill … what they have to go through n the expense n loss shouldn’t have to happen… please help them..
I am so far away from this tragedy. I live in Ontario, Canada, but the citizens of United States are my dear neighbors to the south and my heart is literally breaking for all of you that have been touched and have lost so very much, due to the devastating flood waters, that much too often have plagued certain parts of Texas and elsewhere in your beautiful country....My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I don't understand how a government agency can knowingly flood an area . Will they pay for the damage? Could they not have released the water slowly so it didn't flood the area as bad ?
They need to look at which commissioners from liberty county was paid off by the Colony Ridge developers. I’m not even from Texas and the corruption and illegality in that development has hit the news about 2 years ago.

So it really is flood zone like people have been complaining about. Someone gave them permits to build there..

If you live in an area where flooding is common, wouldn't you build houses on stilts? At the very least protect the house from water damage.
