So, when this song was released in 1979 we faced nuclear armageddon. That was the fear of those times. Anyone old enough to know this song in the original would know that. The world is not worse now, or better then. it's all to do with how you look at it. Don't watch the news if you don't want to be told how shit things are. Sure, listen to old songs and reminisce about your youth and the good times you had, but it's all perspective. I love the song, but for me, I love living in the future. When i was a kid, we didn't have TV, we didn't have rotary dial telephones, we had a Party Line phone (look it up) or computers - the very device we are watching this song on and now we do and many more things. We are living in our own futures. Enjoy it and don't bitch about how bad things are - Plato was doing that 3000 years ago. Nothings changed. People just want to whinge about how bad things are.

Judies rawness but touching and sensual voice just completes a perfect performance. Truly a work of art for us all to enjoy.
Take note Simon Cowell !!!! this is pure talent, get all that crap you call artists that are factory made to sing mostly cover versions to sit and watch this,no autotune in sight just a gorgeous woman singing LIVE with a LIVE band,so underrated and such a humble woman as well who wasn't interested in stardom or dancing around flashing her bits to get noticed, she would win X Factor every year but probably wouldn't lower herself to go on it,there's only one word to describe Judie Tzuke as Pa Larkin would say "SHE'S JUST PERFICK" xxxxx
Brilliantly said! Sick and tired of the chaff we have to endure...all labelled "Stars" or "Celebrities".... They couldn't hold a candle to real talent like we enjoyed in the 70/80/90's....... Simon Cowell? Couldn't herd sheep on a Welsh hillside to save his life. He and his "Judges" are complete nonentities..... they know it....but they laugh all the way to the bank.
I agree with every word you have written....and some! She has an incredible voice and a stage persona in bucket loads. The trouble is this is not what the show you mention wants. They want dross they can dress up as quality and get the masses to clap loudly. They wouldn't know good if it bit them on the leg as that doesn't bring the audience in they are aiming at. I know it's not how it should be but thats TV for you.

This Is Awesomely Brilliant. 👌 sent from Toxteth Liverpool UK ❤
Saw her live in 79 at Bulmershe College Freshers Ball. Bought the album. Still absolutely love this song and the whole album. I’m 66 next week!!
I saw her at Debden College in Essex in, I think, 79 too. She was superb, and it was only 50p to get in. I then saw her in 2020 With Beverley Craven and Julia Fordham. Nothing has changed, she's still superb.
What an amazing live performance !!! It was like playing the studio recording through the microphone. Top credits to all.
Better than the studio version imo. Incredible vocals, sung to perfection.
Always loved this tune and love this live version her voice is so clear and perfect ❤ to me this tune will never get old xxx
Sends shivers down my spine every time i hear Judie sing. What an amazing voice.
Her voice wow... great acoustics.
