Get To Know Me, SISI :)
I'm a Nigerian Food and Lifestyle Blogger documenting bits of every other day in my life with my son Tito , daughter Tiara and husband Bobo.
I usually don't comment on videos like this; the thing is that I was about to make this soup combo and decide to check online for a different method, behold I found this and it was simple, quick and it tastes delicious 😋😋.
Nice one here.
Just wanted to say thanks! I watched a clip of your tutorial on making goat meat stew and loved it. I've always wanted a particular taste my mom engraved in my memory growing up, and I've tried everything possible to achieve it, but to no avail, so after watching your tutorial on making goat meat stew, I had to try out it out on my own, and guess what? It came out just right, and brought back childhood memories of my mom's cooking, so your tutorial revealed the reason why I was not realizing the taste I was desiring, the reason was that I was not boiling the blended tomatoes and onions and peppers until the water evaporated before frying it with oil. So when I did that, guess what? it all came together, and lo and behold, I got that childhood memory taste back. So thanks. I just subscribed to your chanel for more tutorial. I live in Canada, a long way from home. God bless you.
This recipe is gangsta!!! I tried it and my husband was licking his fingers like "this is the best draw soup you have ever made!!" Thank you @ Sisiyemmie! You're the best.👍👍☺☺
This is a wonderful video that is short, simple and gives me all the steps in a manner that is easy to understand. As a Naija boy that is very far away from home and family this video means a lot to me. I have tried this recipe a few times and it comes out wonderful. I cannot thank you for taking time to put out such a wonderful content for people like me that have to do the cooking for now. 👍👍👍
Thank you my dear..have just cooked this ogbono as thick as my husband always wanted...come and see praises..
Looks delicious 🤤 I love Nigerian food. Especially when I was with my ex from Nigeria he had me spoiled and my favorite was when we stay in Nigeria for 3 months. We’re still friends and I still enjoy cooking Nigerian meals so delicious 😋
Love how you showed us the market scenes
Yeah, me too....thanks Sisi
😋 hmmmm looks so good! And yes that smoked chicken will give an illusion of Bush meat😋 ( grass cutter). I've not tried bell peppers in my ogbono before. Will give it a try.
Honestly, this is my favourite method of cooking Ogbono, I don't really like the method of mixing ogbono before cooking. This looks really yummy 😋😋😋
I suddenly had a craving for ogbono and okra today, something I've never cooked before and sisiYemmie's recipe didn't let me down. Using Kale instead of ugwu is a bonus I wouldn't even know where to buy ugwu here and it came out super tasty.
I can't screammmmmm.... God bless you mama, I wish I could send it to you to see, came out so beautifully nice that hubby was so happy n didn't hide it.
Sisi Yemmie, you're awesome. For someone like me that doesn't like cooking, you've made me become enthusiastic about kitchen time because of your recipes. 😘
I love the way you cook and how clean your cooking equipment and kitchen is
The very Sisi mi ! 😁 I came here looking for this as I knew you no go fall my hand. Will definitely be cooking this. As there's no Ugwu here, I have always cooked my soups with kale mixing with spinach so its not too tough and it always comes out closest to the Ugwu results i would have gotten back in naijja.
Thanks again sis. 🤗🤗
I've learnt my lesson to always blend my ogbono at home with my nut blender. On two occasions my ogbono soup turned out like a regular soup but now I blend my stuff myself. Sisiyemi thanks for sharing 👌
Thank you for this. Just made the most delicious okro ogbono with this recipe! Keep doing the lord’s work!
I don’t use onions for my ogbono-okro soup
I also don’t blend my ogbono with the crayfish together , I blend separately
Great twist with the soup!! Looks really yummy!!!
My favorite is bitterleaf ooo try it!!! You’ll love it
Shebi it’s you that advised us not to put orishi rishi yesterday 😂😂😂😂
Welldone ❤️❤️❤️
Right I was like sisi yemmie that soup is full of orishi rishi!!!
I came to testify on the niceness of this recipe. Cooked it today and my family loved it 🥰🥰
I made this last week, my hubby LOVES it! The kale make it so good, I use smoke turkey, it yummy yummy, Thanks sisi yemmie
This Ogbono soup recipe deserves an Oscar😃🤗 After trying this recipe, I don't think I'll be cooking Ogbono any other way. Amazing job SisiYemmie👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is the best method rather than frying the ogbono that’s why I don’t eat it but now you have confirmed my thoughts on putting it into the whole water mix.
I loved this dish! It looks beautiful. I loved the market footage - so colourful, abundant and exotic looking!
@sisi yemmie you can as well cook the kale leave in the already cooked ogbono for 5-7 minutes before adding the okra.........it's just a tip.
Thank you so much, I have been able to get my soup ready from following your directions. Thanks a million as usual.
Finally you've shared the recipe thanks sisiyemme
I love that you showed the market. I smashed the like button for that quickly.
This method is so good! I find it even healthier than other methods as you use lesser palmoil here....🙌🏽
Took me about 30mins to put this together and I really enjoyed it. Although I used dried pepper (ata gigun).
I use kale for all my soups here and I love it. The soup looks rich and yummy
This is an awesome pattern. I will try it out.
Mehn this soup na oga, kpala is the best fish ever 👍🏾, I will definitely try out this method with tatashe, I have used Kale and okra in ogbono b4 and I loved it , Kale is also good for Eforiro mix it with green vegetables or schoko delicious as well, thanks for sharing gorgeous sis 💕
Thanks Sisi Yemmie. I will be cooking this but dont know if I will have fresh ogbono in the African stores around my area in Maryland. With kale no problem. Will let you know when I cook mine. Love your recipes👍👌⚘❤😍
I tried this recipe and its my favourite method of cooking ogbono so far!
My mouth is serious watering right now. SisiYemmie you deserve an awards for this. Kisses
Hi siesie it just like two years ago when you cook okra and barracuda fish it show yummy
i made my own version with your recipe. i use ewuro and efinrin instead of kale... yummy yummy ..dinner is set.thanks for sharing your recipe
Wow the dish looks absolutely breathtaking, thanks for such beautiful recipe and hope you enjoy 😋💖
I actually prefer frying my ogbono with just oil and onions for about ten minutes first before adding everything else. This looks good too
Oh so yummy! Thanks for sharing this delicious ogbono okra soup. It's simple and quick, so it's perfect for anyone to make.
Now I feel like making okro soup, this recipe looks delicious and yummy
Thanks Sisi, this recipe made Ogbono the reigning soup in my house
Love the idea of Kale correct fusion cooking
Thank you for the quick description and simple recipe. I love the way you explains your cooking
Just seeing this soup is making me miss my mum. Bitter sweet for me😥 thanks for sharing Sisi Yemmie🤗 let me go and finish watching
Is the salt not too much for seasoning the meat,I don't put salt for seasoning my meat, I only use maggi and Adobo, which contain salt already, the soup looks yummy
Hi Sisiyemmie, thanks for this recipe I cooked this ogbono and even the people that doesn't like eating swallow in my house eat and they for more more more more.🙏👍
Will try this by all means,,am a ghanaian but will like to give this a try..its just like a ghanaian okra suop...only difference is d ogbono to add🥰🥰🥰
As a non-Nigerian who absolutely loves Nigerian food, i always wondered why Ogbono tastes soapy. Now i understand. Best to grind it yourself
It tastes soapy because it has stayed a long time without staying in the freezer
Me too I am not from Nigeria but I love Nigerian foods sometime when I buy ogbono is smell like soap then I gave up to cook
Wow my best soups but this one is wonderful
I just love your cooking
This is an excellent cooking, you are a great cook.
@Sisiyemi, thanks so much for this recipe. I followed the recipe and made mine . Hubby was like...hmmm this is the best soup ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Susan are you cooking this tomorrow? Of course YES, WHY NOT!! 😍😍💜
learnt a new method today ooo...thanks
Omg, I am going to make the vegan version to your soup. Thank you for your recipe.
I love this method. I have tried it and it’s super delicious. Thanks sisi yemi
I cook this recipe too but with smoked mackerel. But I put the okro in first. Rarely use vegetables like kale or pumpkin leaves though! Well.done sisi
I use Kale for eforiro sometimes if I can't get Spinach and it still comes out great! Well done Sisi Yemmie!
Yummy fresh food in naija everything na organic n affordable chaiii I miss naija mkt ooooo.sisiyemi u ave come again I want to eat eba with this soup ooooo..😂❤️
Thank u my dear d ogbono in African stores hia taste like soup always I dnt buy again.
Kale is good but makes me go to toilet a lot very good cleanser👍🏽
You food looks amaze balls🔥🔥🔥 because of you imma try this Nigerian cuisine. Your food always looks vibrant and appetizing Sisi Yemmie😋❤❤love from 🇿🇼
I love your method of cooking ogbono and okro it's amazing maybe one day I will learn from your cooking
It looks absolutely delicious. I use kale regularly in my soup even in my vegetable yam, however I only buy it frozen. I get more for my money and it stores for longer in the freezer.
This is heavenly...
I knew this recipe will be up when I watched the last vlog 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
Will love to try this
I tried this method yesterday and it came out so beautifully - thanks @sisiyemmie! 🙂
Trying this right away 😊 thanks for sharing
I will buy unground from now on so I can prepare it for myself
Mmmm mmmm 😋 looks sooo good too, wow. Yes, I hv used kale, Swiss chard, fluted pumpkin leaves (like squash leaves). Next time I’ll try beet leaves coz it just tastes like spinach, also amaranths, I hear in Nigeria you call it greens, in Zambia we call is Bondwe.
Thank you & love the way you talked to Tito. Stay blessed & thank u fir sharing. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾👌🏾🌹
I love your cooking dear, the soup looks so delicious well done
I tried this, and it came out delicious. I used smoked turkey wings instead of smoked chicken.
That looks delicious 😋. I am going to try kale 🥬. Have always thought it’s impossible to use it in ogbono soup. Thanks for this nice recipe.
Love this soup my mouth is watering
At first glance I was abit confused that you added the ogbono to the meat 🍖 etc, even seeing you adding oil 🛢 to the bleeding pepper 🌶 😉....but it totally amused me seeing 😀 that it totally come together ❤ looking fabulous. Good cook. .. I will try it sooner
Wow very yummy good food and delicious food ilove it, yummy tasty I will try for my family weekend thank and merry Christmas, 🎄👍🎅
I've never heard of okro and Ogbono mixed together but I like both so the combination must be nice
This was me too before I got married. Then I married into a family where they didn't know you could cook ogbono without okro. I find it so interesting the things we take for granted until we learn of other ways of cooking we didn't even know existed. Like the argument I had with one of my BILs the first time I saw him add crayfish to stew! I had never even so much as heard you could add crayfish to stew for eating rice. Now I have seen all sorts, including adding a teaspoon of sugar to stew and soup as a replacement for Maggi. I was amazed. It worked like a charm and didn't taste like something that had sugar in it. I learn everyday.
You can say that again cos the pot is so beautiful
Super Super easy method, thank you. I'm sure going to try this. Shame goat meat with the skin on like this is EXTREMELY expensive in this part of the world; if at all you are lucky to find any. Miss home.
TFS. My ogbono is always cooked with bitterleaf, local maggi, lots of yellow fresh pepper, plus or minus okro and uziza. I can't stand any other vegetable in ogbono apart from bitterleaf; it makes me nauseous otherwise. Not really sure why. I have tried others including ugu and kale, but I always go back to bitterleaf. Kale is really good in Egusi and efo-riro though.
Thanks for sharing!I love it
Really yummilicious- mouth watering- loving the method and thanks for sharing

Thanks 🙏 a lot for this wonderful recipe! Here in the US I am yet to see or buy ugu leaves 🍃! I had been using kale 🥬 but thought it was a bad idea until this video! So yes 👍🏽 good job 👍🏽
